Stopped in at Adler's for a quick dinner. The server, whose name I don't remember was absolutely phenomenal! Attentive and point and really did a great job. The food was just OK. I had a salad with salmon. The salmon was a bit dry. We also ordered cheese curds, and the cheese curds were a little too breaded for my taste. We sat outside on the patio, which was great because it was shaded, and we got the advantage of enjoying the breeze and the outdoors this place strikes me as a regular for locals. My family and I have been coming here much more frequently lately, as we really enjoy the food and the staff. Super friendly and accommodating, this cute little neighborhood bar and grill is has whatever you are seeking - from a restaurant side to a bar, and even a nice little patio area. The drinks are delicious and strong, and the food is tasty and filling. My go-to is the brisket mac n cheese - the cheese is creamy and the barbecue sauce zesty. I was very excited to try the loaded tater tots, but was a bit disappointed, as the cheese wasn't as melty as I had hoped, so the whole dish was a bit dry. I ended up asking for a side of buffalo sauce to dip the tots in, which definitely made the dish better. About a year ago during a visit, I had the chicken salad sandwich, which was a special of the day. I really wish they had that all the time, because it was amazing! We back in full effect. This blackened snapper was the most satisfying lunch I've had all day. And probably all weekend. Maybe all month. The sauce this came in is akin to a bisque but with these sliced tomatoes and celery that added this texture to every bite of my snapper. This a tough one to write. Everything was so superior except one. The outside dining was comfortable and cute. The food was absolutely delicious. The sever was super friendly. HOWEVER something fell apart in execution 1. Salad brought out but we had no forks to eat it with. Waited over 5 minutes for our forks while staring at the delicious salad 2 asked for water 5 times to different people. Finally got it after our sides were delivered 3 wrong salad dressing was delivered at first 4 had to request our side of Cole slaw and pretzel roll. It never came until asked. The Friday fish fry was really really good. The lake perch were lightly floured and fried and very tasty. The tartar sauce was plentiful and yummy. It's got a small local bar feel, but clean Nd still welcoming. Our device was great. She was attentive and friendly. The BLT and burger we got were well prepared and tasty. The burger was juicy and filling. There was plenty of cheese and mushrooms. The bun was warm and chewy. The cheese curds and nicely coated and 'squeaky', with an overall good taste and texture. The French onion soup had a little too much of a 'beef broth' taste, but still overall good. Their outside patio area was nice, but with maybe a bit too much road noise. This past Friday a friend and I visited here for the Fish Fry. To drink I ordered the Sliced Apple mule with Captain Morgan sliced apple rum, lime juice, bitters, and ginger beer. The drink was good but too much ice. To eat I ordered the Fish Fry special which was Blue Gill with roasted red potatoes, coleslaw, and a warm pretzel. I've never had Blue Gill but it was ok. The food was average, but service was friendly. That's not why the low score. When we travel with my daughter we look for GF options because she deals with Celiac. The reason we stopped here was that they advertised gluten free options. This place was not GF, there was so much cross contamination and the servers were unaware of it. When asked about it (cross contamination) our server had no idea what we were talking about, or what it was. My daughter ordered what was listed as GF and even being mindful about it she did get sick post meal and she stated it felt like gluten contamination. I like hamburgers, often with bacon included. Here I ordered one with bacon and tomato and paid $14.95. The hamburger came with a thin layer of tomato paste and no visible bacon. I was informed by wait staff that the bacon was embedded-in with the beef and not supposed to be visible. That was a new one for me. Not a good burger. read more

We ordered takeout from here the other night because they were close and we were really just craving some basic food. The pick-up process was pretty easy, but we did have some issues when we got home with the food. For one, the ranch dressing that came with our cheesecurds had spilled all over the takeout bag and was covering the other boxes. Additionally, the sweet potato fries that were supposed to come with the burger were missing. We called the restaurant right away and they said that we could come and pick up what was missed. They ended up giving us a double order of the sweet potato fries and a much sturdier container for the ranch. Now for the food. We ordered the cheesecurds as our appetizer, as I'm still on the hunt for the best cheesecurds in the Madison area. I will say that these would rank in the middle of the pack out of all of the ones I've tried. They had a little amount of breading and they were a little greasy, but overall a solid cheesecurd. For our main meals we ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with tater tots and the tomato bacon jam burger with sweet potato fries. The best part of the meal was the burger. It had a nice balance of flavors and the bacon jam was a standout. The sweet potatoes fries looked like they should have been crisp, but were surprisingly limp and a little greasy. The grilled chicken had some sort of Italian seasoning on it which was too salty for my liking, and the tots were also a little too salty for me. I guess I should have gone with a burger! read more

There's nothing spectacular that I can say about this restaurant. I love to give stellar reviews and I just cannot justify one here. The service was slow, although the waiter was very nice and the place wasn't busy when we stopped by for lunch. Maybe under staffed? The menu posted online is out of date, as in the prices are incorrect. Expect to pay more when you order. Having had a marketing career things like this irritate me -- please have an accurate website. Attention to detail is key. If this is overlooked what can we expect when we dine in? We both ordered a cup of French onion soup and decided to split a caliente burger with tots. The soup had a nice beefy broth with chunks of rye bread submerged beneath the melted cheese topping but was overly salted. We ordered the burger medium rare and added fried onions. It arrived medium well. The burger had a generous amount of cheese, but was just OK. The tots were crisp and very good. Two highlights are that they split the burger and served it on two plates without a plate charge and a generous serving of tots. Thank you! They gave us a bottle of catchup instead of a small condiment dish of catchup. Again thank you! This is not a bad place. The food is acceptable, nothing special. The prices are on par with restaurants that I've rated higher. I probably won't dine here again. read more

Salmon lacked salt but had pepper on it. We were looking for a place for dinner and our daughter said that a co-passenger recommended Adlers We looked at the menu and they had a good collection of appetizers and burgers and we all voted that Adlers it is and the place exceeded our expectations. Place was not very crowded and we got a nice booth in the dining hall. Ambience was good with a nice barn line decor. Our server was a very friendly and professional person, Cheyyanne, and she described the menu, explained the specials and answered our questions. We ordered onion rings and criminology mushrooms for appetizers and the Caleiente burger and cheddar bacon burgers. Both the appetizers and the burgers were tasty, hot and perfectly made. I have been traveling to Madison for the last 10 months. I've tried quite a few restaurants and bars before I found Adler's. The food is pretty good but the staff are excellent. I always sit in the bar area and have the best customer service I've seen in quite sometime. The staff, Gerard, Kathryn, Sapphire, Cameron, Jeff and Mason have made it a lot easier being away from home. First time visiting Adler's even though it's a few minutes from my place. We sat in the bar area and ordered dinner. The bar area was mostly full; the dining room is on the other side of the restaurant. The menu is pretty large. Nice array of burgers, sandwiches, appetizers and dinner entrees. I went with the Uncle Greg Burger which had many of my favorite burger toppings on it: avocado, tomato, pickled onions, havarti cheese and a pretzel bun. They serve a nice chargrilled burger that was cooked to order. I had a side of tater tots as well. The food came out fast, fresh and hot. The burger was cooked perfectly and the toppings were delicious. The pretzel bun was well-made and complimented the burger nicely. My tots were crispy and well seasoned. Overall, great experience.
