I'm in a nursing program and I explained this to him, my devices are my lifeline right now. They are doing very dextrous work on small electronic components, though, so they will always want to charge a lot for labor, especially for technically challenging projects. My only complaint is that, during my most recent visit to pick up a repaired device, two of Nick's lackeys were bickering behind the counter, swearing at each other and such. This made for an uncomfortable experience. I don't really think it's appropriate to argue like that when you're at work at all, but certainly not in front of paying regular customers!
