Another company I had spoken with had quoted me more than twice the price, I guess because the cameras they use are fancy or something? I don't know, because the ones Ernesto installed are great and doing precisely what I wanted. When I was on my search for home security cameras, I kept mostly finding things like ADT, SimpliSafe, or something else that was largely about selling you the monitoring plan; the equipment I think was less expensive but then you're paying for the monitoring. I am not generally a fan of the everything-is-now-a-subscription-or-service thing nor do I want to be beholden to whatever rates a company decides to charge. Some of those also were self-install options, which didn't interest me at all. They hooked up several cameras at our home to provide various views, including the basement since I wanted to be able to see what's happening down there when I'm upstairs. The system has a hard drive that can support up to eight cameras. We can save photos, videos, and also play back to see what happened earlier in the recording on the various cameras. Although they could have provided a monitor, we don't really have a place for it so we simply have an app on our phone through which we can view the cameras. I'm not sure why, but I thought it would go much more quickly than it did. I have no frame of reference to know how long it should have taken so that's not a criticism. It took about six hours total but having it done well was the most important part. I would highly the crew at 606 installs for their professionalism, reasonable rate, and excellent work.

Thought that our security door installation was going to take half a day....it took 3 weeks…read more Everything was going pretty well.....got an estimate and scheduled an appointment to get new security doors for the front and back of our townhouse. Day 1: Installer came and installed the back door with no problem. The guy then unloaded the security door for the front, but there was no freakin mail slot!!!! We specifically requested a magazine slot but it wasn't put in. Shouldn't this be checked before you leave? So, we schedule a day for the next week. Day 2: NO SHOW. We scheduled the appointment but they didn't even come. Not even a call....we had to call them. And according to my fiance, it sounded like they were making these BS excuses of why they couldn't make it. This really sucks because my fiance canceled a client to wait for the installer. Again, scheduled an appointment for the next week. Day 3: Finally installed the front door, but managed to forget a piece that goes on top of the door....arghhh!! But whatever, it was practically done and we didn't have to be there for that. Day 4: Completed. Finally! What was supposed to be one visit ended up to be 3. They have lousy customer service but did a good job with the door.

The guy who came out was very helpful and actually talked us out of spending oodles of money on steel doors and rather suggested security storm doors which are an extra level of deterrence for a lesser cost. The guy who measured came back the next day so that we could place our order and we were running late b/c of the bad storms... he waited almost 40 minutes for us to get there (he was actually 15 minutes early, so it's not totally our fault that he had to wait so long). Anyway, storm doors are kind of ugly but these are the nicest we found and we feel safer knowing they're there. ---- Minus 1 star b/c I had to call to schedule my installation appt even though I was told that they would follow up and b/c you can't look at the samples on the website. If they upgraded their website they'd definitely be up for 4.5 stars :)

I became aware of Chicago Innovation Bros after seeing the advertisement displayed on their SUV. I…read morechecked out some of their Google reviews and decided to give them a call. I was going to have my house painted so I needed two TVs removed from the wall and one mounted on the wall in a different room. I called CIB and spoke with Dattrick. He said he would be there within the next hour and arrived on time as promised. Dattrick and his colleague (I can't recall his name) were able to take both TVs off the wall and mount one of the televisions in less than twenty minutes. Both gentleman were friendly, polite, and efficient. They mounted the TV with ease and it only cost $160. I'd paid the Geek Squad (Best Buy) $250 each to mount the TVs several years ago. I called Dattrick back once the painting was complete and he came back with another colleague named Josh to mount the one TV that had been on the floor while the wall was being painted. The second visit was as quick and painless as the first one. It cost $80 to mount a single television. I wouldn't hesitate to call Chicago Innovation Bros in the future or to refer them to others.
