Contacted Home Maid Services in early February to schedule cleaning 2 bathrooms in a single family…read morehome. My late elderly mother's house passed away 1 month ago and bathrooms were messy from looking after her. Being my first time using a cleaning service, the rep on the phone was very patient and professional. She mentioned she was the owner's daughter. She walked me through the cleaning options and prices. Per her suggestion, settled on 2 maids for 2hrs each per bathroom, for a total of 4hrs, with their 1st time customer special. The rep asked me if there was time left over, was there any other areas I would like the maids to clean. I suggested the Foyer tiles. Rep then scheduled an arrival time for around 1pm on a different day as the maids would have a couple other houses to clean on that morning.
The morning of the appointment, I was prepparing time to clear bathroom medicine shelves, hampers etc so that would make it easier for the maids to clean. Thought I had enough time since appt was scheduled later for 1pm. At 11:30am, the door bell rang and two young women stood at the door with cleaning supplies. No heads-up, no apologies or even acknowledgment of being extremely early. When I mentioned the oversight, they eyed each other and gave me a look of confusion, which left me apprehensive. I showed them to the bathrooms and they split up cleaning. Was told by the rep that only one of them could speak English, the other Spanish. I could not communicate with the Spanish speaking maid and the fluent maid couldnt be less interested in translating or assisting. I left them to cleaning. Close to 1hr in, I told the fluent maid about cleaning the entrance tiles if she gets done early with the bathrooms. She then promptly leaves the bathroom to tell the non-fluent maid in the other bathroom to move to the foyer; but could only assume as I couldnt understand Spanish. They quickly abondoned the bathrooms and moved thier focus to the entrance. 5 minutes later, they told me they were done, packed up their supplies as if in a mad rush, and headed out the door. This was at around 12:30pm, with 1hr still left on the clock. I, doubt, I calmy asked the fluent maid to stick around a little while I checked the bathrooms to ensure they were cleaned and what I found was a disappointing and mediocre job. There were visible streaks of dust left on the door frames and doors, stains left on the sink. The vanity mirror wasnt dusted, nor vacummed, dust and dirt left in the floor corners etc (see photos). I asked both of them to come back. I showed them the left-over dirt and told them they still had 1hr left and the cleaning wasnt satisfactory. The attitudes of both of them were terrible, but they hastily got their cleaning cloths and sloppily (and barely) wiped off the dust on the doors for about a minute without addressing the other areas. When I indicated the deficiency, the fluent maid huffed and impatiently said, "what do you expect, your bathrooms are very dirty!." Found the response unbelievable, because obviously, that is why they were hired. English speaking maid impatiently said if im not satisfied, take it up with the owners, grabbed the other maid and left. I contacted the company, spoke with the same rep and told her the situation. She understood, apologized and told me to only pay for the time that they cleaned. She said I could leave the payment with the maids, who I assumed were still in the driveway, but when I went outside, their car was gone and they left behind their dirty gloves in my yard as a token of their disrespect (see photo).
I struggled with the decision to leave this review on account of the proffessionalism and courteousness that the Home Maid Service rep had over the phone. Seems was doing her best to represent her father's company and even allowed me to mail the payment, which is why I gave them 2 instead of 1 star. But, the bad attitude, terrible communication, lack of pride in doing a good job, disrespectful nature and bad attitude of the maids on duty, I can only vouch for a terrible experience.
