Although he wasn't the least expensive of all of our quotes, once I saw his work on a friend's deck, I knew it was exactly what I wanted. Jeff personally came out many times to give us a quote and to oversee the job being done by his crew. Being novices he helped guide us in picking out dimensions, materials and colors. He was very patient throughout the process and kept us in the loop at each stage. His crew was equally professional and extra patient with my husband who asked many questions and wanted even more details about the work being done. We appreciated the workable timeline that was set up and that Jeff was able to adhere to it. We were without stairs for a bit, so it was nice to predict the timing so we were prepared. The finished work is beautiful and we are so pleased with how both decks looks. They were both done with very solid construction especially since they are both high up in the air. Denis verified that the range fan and air duct worked OK. However, he did not investigate any further. He did not test the smoke detectors upstairs and downstairs. He did not examine the HVAC duct. He did not perform any test (such as a smoke candle test) to determine if there was a leak in the HVAC duct. He just walked away from the problem. He offered no solution or directions to his clients. Issue #2. Master Bathroom Air Vent. Denis turned the fan ON for 10 minutes but didn't observe any brown fluid dripping onto the tile floor. He did not bother to investigate any further. He was clueless. He did not know what caused the brown fluid to drain from the air vent. He just walked away from the problem. He offered no real solution or directions to his clients. He proposed to replace the ceiling exhaust fan only because he wanted to seize the opportunity to make more money. The investigation Denis performed was something that I or any other layperson could do hands down. He made $200 for 30 minutes of his time. His service is of little or no value to me. I am not satisfied at all with his work. He was incompetent. While Denis made his easy money of $200 on his so-called investigation, his actions demonstrated that he was not motivated to help his client solve a problem. He was focused on installing new parts to rake in sky-high profits. He walked away from Issue #1 and submitted a bid for Issue #2. But did he understand what went wrong with either Issue #1 or #2? No. He did not have a clue. Case in point. For Issue #1, he walked away. For Issue #2, he submitted a bid of $550 to replace a simple bathroom ceiling exhaust fan. It was way overpriced. A new fan costs about $50. In other words, he slaps a $500 labor charge for 30 minutes of his precious time. His billing rate of $500 per half hour or $1,000 per hour is far higher than the common attorney billing rate of $300 or $400 per hour. Denis is completely out of line and out of his mind. I rate Denis 1 out of 5 stars. I would rate him zero stars on Yelp if I could.

From start to finish the backyard project took over a year to finish. Our backyard project was not big. This was an extremely stressful process as we had to check up on the work throughout; at points we went months without any work being done and David always had an excuse. Admittedly, we didn't have all the final decisions made prior to the start and things were fluid at times but there was always work that could have been done which didn't happen unless we pushed. With the amount we paid we thought the owner would have been more helpful with design but were left to do research and find/look at materials ourselves. We had to withhold payments because work wasn't being done despite being pestered and payments demanded from the owner. Numerous times we had to have conversations regarding progressive payments being demanded by the owner despite lack of work being performed. The only thing that motivated the owner to get back to work was us withholding payment. The owner clearly had too many projects and not enough workers resulting in the customer suffering which we heard from one of the workers was an issue with his other jobs too. We had a large landscaping company come out while we had one of the long breaks in work and pointed out many issues and stated they would've completed the job in 3 weeks. It was exhausting and stressful to have to inspect every aspect of the job and find subpar work being performed/corners being cut. An issue we still have is drainage, which we questioned the owner about prior to finishing the project but were assured it wouldn't be an issue. We trusted him but again learned the hard way not to. We are going to have to hire another company to fix the lake that arrives in the middle of our backyard when a large rain occurs. Our project was expensive and his bid was on the high side compared with others so needless to say we expected much better.
