While I really like the staff here ( both inside and outside) , I ga e the length of a fence I was building and they determined how much of everything I needed. Somehow they were way offf on the hardware estimate... they sold me 36 metal brackets... I needed 12. They sold me 30 pounds of screws, when I needed less than five... like they said, you can return what you don't need. The issue is they charge you a 10% restocking fee when they're the ones that grossly overestimated. When I complained about it, the clerk just kind of shrugged, which was OK, then some other guy ( Jeff maybe) walked over and said " It's just an estimate, and it's your responsibility to make sure it's right". As if anyone asked him. The point being, there's a 10% incentive for them to overestimate. That's a dirty way to do business. read more

Berco Redwood was one of my best finds in 2022, I will never go to big box store to purchase lumber again. I had to build a pool fence/gate last summer and the guys at Berco were so great to work with and really listened to what I was trying to do. They offered great options and even took the time to hand pick the wood making sure I didn't get any bad pieces. This review has been long overdue. I have placed multiple orders with Berco first 2 times the Redwood I purchased for a deck and another for a smaller privacy fence were perfect. The whole process went smooth door to door. I dropped in last week, placed an order for some B grade Redwood which was delivered/arrived with some boards somewhat cracked/defective. I immediately refused the order and called them to communicate the issue. Within minutes I was told a Manager would be calling me to discuss the issue. When I mean excellent customer service the gentleman that called me back STEVEN set the bar! And high. Berco Management I hope you are taking care of your guy because he went above and beyond with resolving the issue. I was told to drop in to select whatever wood I thought was best for my project. When I arrived he instructed the team on what I was there for and what was needed to be done to make it right. I was in and out in under an hour and he was able to have his guys deliver same day which saved me from not having to reschedule my guys which would have cost me an additional fee for rescheduling last minute. Once again these guys really hit it out of the park! Between Luke and Chris I was able to get a special beam for my home that was miscalculated by the architect in less than four hours! I was in a panic because I had the framers coming on Saturday and Thursday late in the evening I discovered the mistake. Of course it was after 5 o'clock and all the lumberyards were closed. Friday morning I talked with Chris Barry he assured me that I should be able to continue with the project without any hiccups. He was right! Luke sourced out a new beam that I was able to pick up Friday by noon and save the day! Can't say enough good things about these guys, they will always be my go to lumberyard! read more

This is a one stop shop for all your redwood building needs! My bf is building me a deck for my backyard and after frequent trips to Home Depot, we came to Berco because we were told they had wood that was up to 20 ft. long. My bf came in and told Chris about the project and he was so helpful and knowledgable that he pointed out ways to make the deck structurally sound while saving me money and saving my bf some labor. I like the sound of more money in my pockets! I was only going to purchase a few 20 foot boards and planned to buy the rest from Home Depot, however the quote from Berco was so much cheaper with all the screws and hardware included. The sales staff talked me into using the Fijian Mahogany for my deck and it was beautiful, but they discontinued the product before I could finish my project and now I have a half built deck with no way to complete it. I don't think it was ethical to "dump" a product on me and not tell me that they would no longer be carrying that product. Since then they have been no help in tracking down more of the product. Telling me for weeks that they are looking then basically telling me that I am out of luck. I will be finding another lumber yard to give my business to. After an initial review following a small error I was contacted within days of my first review to investigate into my complaint and immediately offered to make things right. I am very satisfied with the attention and customer service since contacted. They've gone as far as to dig into the matter to ensure it will not occur again and that their high quality control standards are upheld. Terrible service. Purchased several $$$$ worth of fencing and paid for delivery Two weeks ago. Now we're told we have to come wait in line for our slats because it's first come first serve. And the truck may or may not show up. Competitor has slats but won't sell it unless you buy fence framing from them as well. Wish I had gone there! before we bought anything. Berco is a new experience for me --- and it has been excellent! I need to replace the dry rot stairs and landing on my front porch and decided to use Trex instead of wood. I'm an internet researcher so I did my due diligence and there was nothing I wanted at the usual big box stores I frequent. A friend told me about Berco and everything went from bad to the best. Nate helped me - he is the BEST - and told me about the process to get the style I wanted. I expected to have to wait 2-3 days but he was back to me the next day and scheduled a pick up the next morning. Very impressive service, professionalism, and good natured interaction with Nate has made this into a positive experience. Oh, and did I mention that their prices are VERY competitive. ok, so my opinion is based on one experience so far with this company. The prices are great, esp compared to local and regional businesses, however, my rating is based on their delivery guy, their choice of wood, and neither of those was acceptable. Our delivery was scheduled for 1Pm and on, so without a phone call, tho the delivery guy said he called and left a msg, but we were home and there was no msg, he arrived at 10AM. Without coming down our driveway to scope out how to deliver and where and what potential obstacles would get in his way or notify us that he was there and might need help with 20 foot pieces of Trex decking, he loaded everything on to his 3 wheel loader and started down our driveway which is too narrow for 20 foot pieces. Had he come down the driveway, notified us, we could have carried in the 20 footers by hand, thus making his delivery much simpler, less running into our plants and driving over our border rocks etc. But no, he didn't and when we saw what he was trying to do, we went to see if we could help him out by taking the 20 foot boards, but he had loaded them on the every bottom and so without unloading everything, we couldn't take the 20 foot boards. He also got annoyed when we suggested that he perhaps could have contacted us to help, or at least see how to go about things, Then when 4 pieces of pressure treated wood turned out to be cracked, he just impatiently said that he would tell the dispatcher and have him deal with the problem. No one contacted us however. Not only did the delivery guy show poor professionalism as well as poor planning, but whoever loaded the 4 pieces of 2x10x12 pieces of pressure treated wood that we ordered should be taught to recognize wood that is intact and usable and that which is not. Our wood arrived with all four pieces cracked down the middle with at least 12 inches cracked and up to 4 feet, 2 on either side. When we called to let the company know, they wanted us to return it. Thanks for nothing, the pieces were 12 feet long, longer than convenient to fit into our truck, tho with some ingenuity, we managed to put it into our campervan to return and exchange. I guess that the person who loaded our order figured that he could send off their bad wood and hopefully we wouldn't have a problem with it. So by returning it ourselves, at least we could choose our own better pieces. Will not be using this company to deliver, tho if we can choose the wood ourselves and pick it up the prices are good. read more
