We used Jeff Imwalle Construction to replace two upper decks on our property. Both decks were in dire straits, with one being in an emergency replacement condition. It was a very big job and we had gotten many quotes from various businesses. Although he wasn't the least expensive of all of our quotes, once I saw his work on a friend's deck, I knew it was exactly what I wanted. Jeff personally came out many times to give us a quote and to oversee the job being done by his crew. Being novices he helped guide us in picking out dimensions, materials and colors. He was very patient throughout the process and kept us in the loop at each stage. His crew was equally professional and extra patient with my husband who asked many questions and wanted even more details about the work being done. We appreciated the workable timeline that was set up and that Jeff was able to adhere to it. We were without stairs for a bit, so it was nice to predict the timing so we were prepared. The finished work is beautiful and we are so pleased with how both decks looks. They were both done with very solid construction especially since they are both high up in the air. We had a pair of old decks with glass in the handrails. We hired Jeff Imwall and New Deck to replace the handrails with a cable system, replace any dry rot wood, tighten the bolts and screws in the structures, and finally stain the decks. The team assigned to the project were timely, organized, neat, friendly, helpful and safety focused. The handrails turned out better than our expectations. They now look modern and streamlined. The whole project added years of useful life to our decks. We will use them again. This turned out to be a great alternative to a complete tear down and replacement. read more

Jeff Imwalle Construction is very professional, detail oriented, and has excellent customer service. Jeff and his crew has done a total of 4 decks for us at our house over the past 5 years. All of our decks are not normal due to the terrain of our land. They had to work around granite boulders and uneven surfaces for all of our decks. The city inspector was even impressed with the work that they did, he took pictures of their work. Jeff has a tendency to over build the decks even if the plans don't call for it because he wants to make sure that the deck will last. The most recent two decks that Jeff did for us have been the most impressive. They replaced the old 20'x8' deck with Trex Transcend material. Then we extended our living space to have an additional deck built with the dimensions of 28'x20'. There are a total of 34 steps to get to ground level and we had them build a bridge to access the deck from the side of the house. We had them inlay a compass at the center of the deck to face true North. One thing that is great about Jeff is that he is honest and will communicate to you when he will be there, if there are delays on the plans/permits, or if he cannot commit at that time. I wished that there were other contractors who can learn from Jeff that you don't need to lie or string us along to ensure that you'll get our business. Jeff is not going to be the cheapest contractor, but his professionalism, product, service, and crew is worth every penny. read more

We hired Jeff Imwalle to build a new backyard deck with Trex, and we couldn't be more pleased with the results. If you hire Imwalle Construction, you can expect excellent and timely communication, superb craftsmanship, and a seasoned crew that has worked with Jeff for many years. What you won't get is a recently hired crew that may or may not know what they are doing. We were very impressed with Jeff and his crew, as there were several architectural challenges that needed to be figured out, especially how to build four wider steps over an existing set of three concrete steps which were much too small. I teased Jeff's crew chief as he overcame the challenge with flying colors, awarding him an honorary degree in engineering (see photos for before and after). Jeff was very helpful in taking a rough drawing we provided, and creating a beautiful, rock solid deck. It is also worth noting that Jeff completed the project in less time than his original estimate. Jeff was such a pleasure to deal with. He is responsive and stays on schedule. In fact he was able to start our job a couple of days early. The scope was a set of Trex stairs, from the house to the new patio including riser lighting. His guys are really perfectionists and the finished product shows that. Jeff is an honest contractor. We had used Jeff and his crew 4 years ago building a deck here in Rocklin. With all of the time on our hands with the lockdown we decided to get after the backyard with some new improvements, including doubling our original deck We live on a greenbelt and a good portion of our backyard is sloped on a hill. This is a challenging situation for a deck builder but knowing Jeff and his crew handled this years ago I called him for a bid. Yes, not the cheapest around but high quality and ethics. He was out the next day after the call, had a bid a day after that. By the end of the following week the deck was finished and we have spend hours on it every day since. Jeff just completed a 2-level deck for me that was actually about 3 stories high. The design was great, much better than I expected. He guided me on product choices, handled the complex permitting process, kept me posted regularly, and was very present during the actual construction. They improved upon the safety and performed upgrades to what the previous installers had done. They do not take shortcuts. They did the job right and paid attention to details. Well here's yet another great review for Jeff Imwalle Construction. Jeff and his crew removed and rebuilt a porch on the back of our home. I think Jeff is slightly high in price but what you get for your money is nothing less than perfect. His crew, Javier and Fernando are the best! Even though this was probably considered a small job these guys took the time to do things flawlessly. I watched, and quite honestly, learned a couple of things from these guys as they did the job and they really worked smart. When doing a job like this I like to get to know the guys that are doing the work. From a personal standpoint these guys are also honest, good guys. We made an appointment for an estimate with Jeff. On the phone,we discussed our location, Foresthill, and needs for a double deck and existing tear down. Jeff offered to come up to Foresthill that same day stating he already had an appointment in our area! We declined and made a future appointment in the next few days. On the day of our scheduled appointment, Jeff called a half hour prior to said appointment and left a message, stating that by putting our address into his GPS, we were too far away, that it would be an hour and a half to get there. He declined the appointment. Roseville is only 30 minutes away, and it is a stealthy project that was turned down at the last minute. Do not appreciate the lack of professionalism. read more

Jeff and his crew replaced a large beam and posts supporting my 2nd level deck. It was emergency work in order to sell my home, and he came through for me in just 2 days. Jeff's bid was lower than 2 other bids and his knowledge/recommendations were much better. I tested his knowledge on use of brackets, pressure treating chemicals, etc and he had thought of everything and it was all to code or better. I'm recommending his services to all my friends. Don't forget, Jeff does all sorts of work including interior finish carpentry like crown moulding as well. read more

Just finished a Trex deck material replacement. Trex deck material was defective and flaking. Associated with a class action suit with Trex. We hired Jeff and his crew to remove and replace with new material. His crew did an amazing job. They showed up every morning on time, worked throughout day and finished 1 day earlier than forecast.
