We attended a wedding here and I have to say that they definitely made this place look beautiful. Although the clouds were threatening to shower down dollops of rain, the weather held off nicely for the outdoor wedding and traditional Korean Paebaek ceremony. Interestingly, the RT (for Ruby Tuesday's) Lodge is tucked away on the campus of a college in Maryville. It wasn't too difficult to find, but there was definitely limited parking at the lodge itself, so we were directed to a satellite parking lot where shuttles ran back and forth (a couple minutes) to the lodge. When we stepped out of the lodge, we were greeted by a beautiful pebbled walkway, which led down a short path between their two main buildings. They had a cute pond with a walkway out to the middle (where two violinists were playing) and they had set up two large tents capable of holding 200+ people comfortably. The light hors d'oeuvres and punch that they had before the ceremony were good enough to keep us at bay in our excitement for the wedding. The first tent was perfect for the wedding ceremony because it had so many transparent areas that allowed for the sunlight to shine through. The only thing that might be worth complaining about was because it was outside, there were some flying bugs. And we didn't bring bug spray to the wedding. Afterward, there were heavy hors d'oeuvres which were quite tasty, and again, more punch. They set up the middle area where the musicians were for the Korean Paebaek ceremony. It was a very nice personal, touching part of their wedding ceremony. Dinner was served in another tent, and I must say that the decor was very nice. They had lights strung up from the inside top supports of the tent, with lit lanterns as well. As the evening started to come on, the place was absolutely beautiful. They had a nice stage area for a live band to play as well . . . and they set up two buffet stations (entree and dessert) on two corners of the tent, with their drink station in the middle. Overall, it was beautifully decorated, and the staff were very professional and polite. It also fit the personalities of our friends who got married there. If you happen to be looking for a wedding venue in Maryville, TN, I would definitely recommend taking a look at RT Lodge. But be aware that according to some city ordinances, live music must stop at 11pm. Just keep that in mind. :) read more

My husband and I went with friends last night. Even though we live in the area, we'd never heard or read anything about the restaurant. Our friends had a gift card, so if they hadn't asked us we wouldn't have experienced a wonderful evening. The atmosphere was so cozy and quiet. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. We had drinks in the lounge first and that set a great tone for the rest of the evening. Then dinner in the restaurant. We would have liked to sit outside, but it was a bit chilly. We decided to come back again when it's warmer and experience the patio. All four of our meals were absolutely delicious! Our server was very attentive and friendly. We were married here April 2018 and it was truly an incredible experience. We were looking for a venue in which both of our families and friends could come and stay onsite for the entire weekend and we fell quickly in love with RT Lodge. Having everyone stay onsite made the logistics of the weekend easy and we got to spend more quality time with our guests. The food was incredible! Breakfast is included for all guests each morning and Chef Trevor Stockton really outdid himself for all of our dinners. Not only is the venue absolutely beautiful but the staff were always willing to lend a helping hand - going over and beyond good service. For example: The wait staff carried a large farmhouse table down a steep flight of stairs so that the families could eat dinner outside (and enjoy the great weather) Thursday night before the wedding. The wedding coordinators saw I was stressed about finishing favor bags and they took them back to the main lodge and finished stuffing and tying bows for me! One of my bridesmaid's ordered a cab to the airport that never showed up, so one of the maid's drove her to the airport so she wouldn't miss her flight home. It's such a special place and we will always be grateful to the kind staff that helped make our wedding weekend unforgettable. read more

We enjoyed a perfect evening dining at the Lodge. We are vegan and the chef tweaked a couple of dishes from his lovely menu to accommodate us. We shared the watermelon salad with toasted cashews and mint and the sugar snap and raspberry salad . One of us had the mushroom pasta with ramp pesto , the other had farro with radishes and homemade kimchi. We split the strawberry sorbet ... homemade and delicious. Our server was Liberty who is an asset to RT. She is proud of what she does , deservedly so. What a special place the Lodge is. Thank you for a great dinner. RT Lodge is a magical place that is well worth the drive from Knoxville. Hidden back in a forest of ivy on the Maryville college campus, it makes you feel like you've taken a mini vacation to an expensive resort when you pull through the gates. The lodge itself is beautiful and the rustic, vintage decor is perfect. Arrive early enough for cocktails on the patio around the beautiful coy pond. The food at RT is some of my very favorite food in the area. The focus is on fresh, local produce and high quality meats cooked simply and deliciously with southern style. The beet salad is among my favorite dishes anywhere and the Mac and cheese is out of the world. I do believe that the pork chop I ate here was probably the best I've ever had in my life. Definitely not over-salted. This was one of the courses during a wedding, with approximately 100 guests. I really wanted to give this restaurant five stars. The ambience was beautiful almost perfect, The staff were above par. They were very courteous and came by our table often. Everything was five star, EXCEPT the food. This was our second try hoping the first was a mistake. My pork chop was burnt, my collard greens were burnt and bitter ( they took them off the bill because there were so bad). My wife had dry salty chicken, but the carrots were OK. I really wish they would get a better menu offering ( who likes fried chicken skin?) and a better cook and then this place would be booked months in advance. They have so many fantastic options. My family and friends still rave about the food. I plan on going back asap! They really pay attention to detail and have high standards. Katie Stinnett and the RT team kept everything on track and helped plan the majority of our wedding while we were in the middle of chaos, trying to move from Chicago to Tennessee, get new jobs and plan a wedding in less than a year. I was very excited to reserve a spot for myself, wife and four friends. First, the atmosphere is very good, service was excellent. As fir the food, it did not live up to what I expect for the money. My wife and I ordered the short rib and the pan fried chicken. The chicken was nothing special with way too much breading but cook ok. The was no breast The portion was two legs, a wing section and a thigh. The short rib was average but the portion was probably let than four ounces. Not enough to even for my wife. It was fatty and imo overcooked. It was covered in way too much sauce. I am not sure how much meat was actually served. Our friends had a hamburger and the mushroom risotto. Hamburgers ( two patties) were as expected and cooked as ordered. The risotto was done quite well and was probably the best item we had that night. Then my other friends ordered the prime rib eye for two. Best part about it was it was cooked as ordered. The taste was average but most disappointing was the portion and the $75 cost. The portion was about enough for one. Overall a good experience, great atmosphere, great service but very very average food for the money. read more

We had not realized that the Lodge was open to the public and that you are able to stay in the guest rooms and eat in the restaurant (closed sunday and monday). The ambience is amazing! The setting for the restaurant is absolutely gorgeous - inside and out. The service was excellent... the waitress was as polite and attentive as you could ask for, and they knew their stuff! Any question we had about a menu item was answered quickly and thoroughly, and the waitress seemed passionate about the food. And why wouldn't she be? It's amazing!
