Ruan Thai may not be a place where you'd think about stopping for a quick, tasty lunch or a full Thai style dinner, but maybe you should. The $13.99 Lunch Specials (as of 22 Oct 2025) are well worth the price because they include a variety of main dish offerings in Tofu, Chicken, Pork, Beef, and Shrimp versions that come with soup, salad, and crispy fried egg roll. Mom really liked the filling and crunch of the egg rolls as well as the zero spice preparation on her Pad Thai, which is hard to find, since some spice is already in the sauce in traditional prep methods. And my beef with spicy Thai basil was a spot on 5 -- just enough heat to bead up some sweat, yet not enough to make me go looking for the milk jug. AND there was lists of beef in there -- where I was expecting a few narrow slivers, I found flavorful chunks -- kudos Ruan! The Pad Thai was also not as sticky as it sometimes can be, also a welcome change, because this made it much easier to twirl up the perfectly al dente noodles for joyful consumption. Service was friendly, of course, and the ambience was straight up Thai from front to back to music selections. This is a good family place that's quiet enough for a special dinner too, so it's easy to put this one on my hidden gems of Las Vegas list. Bring your appetite and come on down from the Strip on the 201 bus. Because this one is well worth the trip. And maybe I'll just see you here when you do!

Ruan Thai has a good selection, including dishes not often found at other local restaurants, including Pad Cha Talay (seafood w/mussels, squid, shrimp, & fish; spicy with herbs and fresh peppercorns, and slightly sweet). They also have a nice selection of drinks and desserts. We also tried the Larb (pork), and Spicy Basil fried rice (chicken), ordering spicy levels of varying degrees to gauge their range. Ruan Thai has a 1-5 scale of Thai "hot", versus Farang (aka gringo) "hot", so err on the side of caution if you aren't a Spice Connoisseur. My tip when ordering fried rice with a spicy level, order it 1 level down than you would a meat dish, because the rice grains absorb that spicy heat, and can easily be hotter than you expect. Service was friendly, the food and drinks were good, and prices reasonable. We will definitely be back to have more tasty Thai food in the future. note: Like many businesses nowadays, they do pass on the fees they incur on bank cards. So, if you don't want to pay the 3% charge, then bring cash. ...and don't be a Karen; the cost of everything is going up for everyone, so be kind, and understand that if you want an affordably priced restaurant, than this is one thing that they can do to stay in business to feed you AND their family, too.

Absolutely amazing every time I come here, this place needs way more credit man, it taste amazing great prices such nice humble people too. I tried ordering a mango sticky rice once and they said they didn't wanna serve it because it wasn't in season and they didn't want to give me a plate that didn't taste right, shows they pay attention to detail and I respect it a lot

This place is a hidden gem! The food is amazingly delicious and you can tell it's made from love. The staff here are super accommodating and they will recommend certain dishes. It is located in a very "busy" part of Las Vegas but I could tell when I walked in that people truly enjoy the food because the phone kept ringing for orders and delivery drivers keeps coming.

This spot is recent change of ownership and name. Very close to my home. The inside is clean and nicely decorated with simple modern design. The food is good My favorite is their pad Thai noodles So moist and delicious Crab ragoons are done with artistic expression..... chicken satay again very moist with great flavor This is definitely a great gem Totally recommend it They charge 3% for card cards, but give a discount for cash that's a great incentive very small business move!!!!!!

Found this adorable place recommended by a friend. The inside is decorated classy and was well light . The waiter was nice and personable. The star of the show was the food!! The pineapple curry was light but had depth of flavor . The Spicy eggplant was amazing and filling. And the chicken wings were massive size. The crab rangoon was very good as well . All the portion sizes were good and everyone left the table with left overs. A definite must try and I'm sure I will be back .

Ask the Community - Ruan Thai Restaurant

Can you dine inside? Or did the continue with to go or delivery only as the previous owner did?

Yes, dining in is encouraged you won't regret it. The previous owners, with their carry out only, is nothing compared to the new ones. Dine in, or carry out.. either way the food is great.

Whether you're stopping in for lunch or dinner, it's a comfortable place to relax and enjoy a meal. Overall: Weera Thai on Sahara checks every box: amazing food, excellent service, beautiful surroundings, cleanliness, consistency, and value. It's one of my favorite Thai restaurants in the entire Las Vegas Valley and a place I return to regularly. Highly recommended.

The waitress confirmed the order. When the bill arrived, however, I was charged for Roasted Duck Panang. When we brought this to the waitress's attention, the manager came over and insisted that I had been served duck. I explained that I don't order duck curry and specifically eat chicken. He then asked whether the meat was sliced or served whole. When I said it was in small pieces mixed into the curry, he responded, "Oh, that was duck." So not only was I charged incorrectly, but I was apparently served the wrong dish altogether. What was most frustrating was how difficult it seemed for the staff to acknowledge the mistake. If a restaurant cannot accurately take and deliver a simple order, it raises concerns for anyone with food allergies, dietary restrictions, or personal food preferences. Mistakes happen, but accountability and good customer service matter. Unfortunately, neither was demonstrated today. After more than four years as a customer, this experience has left me with no intention of returning.

The space itself is inviting with stylish décor and a warm, modern atmosphere that makes it perfect for both casual dinners and hosting friends. Service is consistently excellent--attentive, welcoming, and polished every time we visit. Our Usual Order: 1) Garlic Herb Crispy Prawns - Hands down some of the best in the city. The prawns arrive perfectly crisp with a generous coating of golden garlic and herbs. Each bite has that satisfying crunch before giving way to tender shrimp. 2) Mango Crispy Catfish - A beautiful contrast of textures. The crispy catfish is topped with bright slices of mango and finished with a chili-lime dressing that ties everything together. The dish is vibrant, colorful, and bursting with flavors. 3) Crab Fried Rice - The rice comes generously packed with large pieces of crab and works perfectly alongside the other dishes. It's hearty enough to share. 4) Dessert here is as much about presentation as it is about enjoyment. The Mango Sticky Rice is beautifully plated, and the Egg Yolk Ice Cream is a unique treat that's rich and creamy without being overly sweet--the perfect way to end the meal. The wine list is surprisingly impressive for a Thai restaurant. We usually pair our meal with Orin Swift Blank Stare Sauvignon Blanc, which complements the dishes wonderfully. There's also a full bar, and the Lamaii Old Fashioned is worth trying--smooth, aromatic, and beautifully balanced. If you're looking for a spot with great atmosphere, attentive service, and dishes that are consistently well-executed, Lamaii is always a solid choice.

Let me tell you the food was even better than we imagined! I ordered a passion fruit iced tea to start and it was so delicious. The restaurant is very small and quiet, which we enjoyed because it felt like being in someone's home for dinner. There's a nice cabinet in the back with some family pictures and that was a genuine touch in my opinion. The true star of the show, however, were our chefs choice dishes. I ordered the crab curry noodles (Khao Soi) and my husband ordered beef brisket panang curry. We couldn't agree on who had the better dish because they were both so incredible. Mine was spicy, creamy, and perfectly balanced. Large amount of crab was included on top of how large the dish was fo begin with. Enough for me to take home and enjoy the next day.
