Saw this place on Instagram and decided to give it a shot. It was a Saturday night at 8:30 pm and since Ruben's is on the main street in Fed, it was swarmed with drunk people. Three young men were hanging right outside Ruben's PEEING on the wall so that was lovely. That is of course not Ruben's fault, just an observation of the vibe outside. This place is the perfect lunch spot. The tacos are simple but very flavorful. I ordered 2 chicken tacos, that came with sour creme, a spicy sauce, and some sort of green salsa. All of the dips complemented the taco very well. I sat in the small bar style seating area, which wasn't crowded around 1pm. There was some nice Spanglish music playing,and the overall vibe of the place was very pleasant. What makes this place even better, the owner, Ruben, is a recent high school graduate. It's such a pleasure to go in and see his business flourish at such a young age. With great customer service and great good, this place can only get better. Let me warn you that parking is hit or miss as to this is a very busy area. I was lucky to get a spot a block away. I walked to the next block. I was actually looking for a sit in restaurant. To my surprise it was not a restaurant. It's an actual window that you walk up to to order your food. I reached the window and was politely greeted. Checked in and showed my 410 offer. Everything was easy. Ordered, paid and slipped down to another store while waiting for the order to be prepared. When I returned they were bagging my order up. I didn't get to take my photo right away because I didn't want to be messy and I wanted to enjoy it once t returned home. What I can tell you is the bag was heavy so I felt like I was gonna be in for a treat. Chow time. When I opened the bad I was surprised by the size of the burrito. I cute it in half to see the inside. It was loaded with rice, cheese, chicken, steak, peppers and onions. I was so excited I forgot to even use any of the special sauces that were given with it. Lol. It has a little spicy heat to it even without the sauces. The portion was truly enough for two people. I only ate half and was totally satisfied. I guess the other half will be dinner today. I usually walk past it so often but since there's no indoor seating at all and it's basically just a kitchen and you order at the door it's easy to miss! The person taking my order was knowledgeable and was very friendly and that also made me excited to try the food! I got the birria tacos and a horchata. The birria tacos were different than I usually get them! It usually comes double wrapped so it doesn't fall apart when dipped in the consommé. The shell itself was crispy which I enjoyed and the meat inside was very tender and flavorful. I'm not a big sauce person; however, the signature sauce was a great addition to the taco!! This is a spot in Fells Point that you order and pick up food at at window, there is no dine in. Got the breakfast burritos, it was decent...I wouldn't come back. Ruben is a small walk up on S Charles street. We ordered food at around 9:30 and it was done by 10. I got a quesadilla and horchata and my friend got a burrito and fries. They forgot her fries & we ended up waiting another 20 mins, which was very frustrating. I also noticed that everyone else who was waiting was also complaining about the wait (It seems like the person working this night only enjoyed flirting with the people who came to the door rather than helping anyone). I was not a fan of the horchata. It didn't not have any flavor and honestly tasted like vanilla almond milk, I wouldn't get it again. The chicken tacos probably the only decent thing here. The staff touched their faces, food, utensils, phone, cash, credit cards, computer, mop and food with same gloves. I was standing there the whole time and not one of them changed their gloved at any time. Staff needs retraining on food handling and safety. read more

What a wonderful gem in Fed Hill!! I got their Cali burrito, which was delicious! It was a big portion, and everything was very flavorful. Also, their special hot sauce is AHHH-MAZING! It's creamy, full of flavor, and just the right amount of spicy. I also got their 1 lb chicken burrito for my husband, which was delicious. All the ingredients were very fresh! Their jamaica tea is also great! In my opinion, it's the best jamaica tea I've had in the Baltimore area. A lot of places either don't sell jamaica or it's way too sweet! I ordered a founder burrito and a bottle of water which came up to be $21. My friend ordered the breakfast burrito and a soda which came close to $18. It was about a 15 minute wait. I enjoyed the founder burrito, didn't think it needed any additional sauces or ingredients. Felt like it had all the flavors and was delicious. My friend on the other hand didn't enjoy the breakfast burrito, didn't think it was seasoned well or at all and felt the need to use the sauce packets that were provided. The rice bowl was just an all-around waste of money. The rice was actually still hard...we ended up just throwing it out since it was practically inedible. After a drunken night in fed hill or in my case (horseshoe casino), this is the perfect place for late night food. I had no idea about this hidden gem, it's open late on the weekends (till 3am). It was only a 4 minute drive from the casino. When my bf and i stopped by, it was PACKED with several super friendly drunk people. It's a small restaurant with about 5 seats. Although, the restaurant was packed, we got our food in less than 15 minutes. The line went by quick. They have tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and rice bowls. I ordered the steak quesadilla (they ran out of chicken unfortunately), the quesadilla was really good and it was a pretty filling serving, it came with sour cream, green mild sauce, and spicy sauce, on the side. The steak was a bit chewy and lacked flavor, I'll most likely get chicken next time I visit. My bf got the chorizo burrito, which was really good! The queso was so disgusting and had a grainy texture that should never come from melted cheese. According to the menu, the tacos should've cost a total of eight dollars, and the quesadilla should have cost $9.99...I was charged over $25 for this meal. They provided mild and hot salsa as well as sour cream. The hot salsa is pretty intense (confirmed by a spicy lover) and the mild and sour cream are a great addition for those who enjoy flavor but can't handle spice. They had several options including quesadillas, burritos, and rice bowls, as well as sweet and savory crepes. They are a take out restaurant with a few stools if you choose to sit there. Me and my roommate came by to pick up our takeout and saw a huge rat inside the restaurant at the window right in front of us as we were handed our bag of food.
