Went during a Fresno Street Eats Event and ordered a regular cinnamon churro ($8) and one regular corn in a cup ($5). It was very difficult hearing the lady taking our order because of the loud generators. And when we did asked a few questions about the menu the lady didn't seem to know the answer and we pointed out their sample display and she, questioned if there was something there and that she didn't know what the displays were..... okay fine. Nice lady but it would be nice to have someone taking the orders know the products. Anyways, waited about 10mins or less it was a pleasant surprise to the little container with vanilla ice cream, I definitely was not expecting it and it was so delicious and it complimented the churro so that made my day. The churro itself was alittle over done but thankfully not burnt so it was crunchy, I really enjoyed it while dipping it in the ice cream. The corn in the cup was good as well, it was alittle salty but it wasn't too bad, they kept the corn on the bottom with all the liquid and put the mayonnaise topping on top with a slice of lemon. Wish they drained the corns liquid so it wasn't so watery and also stirring the mayo mix all over the corn would have been nice but no big deal. We've gotten churros from this truck a couple times when it's come to the area. The first time, we got a variety of different topped churros with a scoop of ice cream on the side. The ice cream melted into the churro, which was a little problematic. This time, we noticed that they put the ice cream in a cup next to the churro, keeping them separate. Much better. I absolutely love churros and was craving some fresh churros from The Loop: Handcrafted Churros in the OC but haven't been able to find anything in the Fresno area similar. Saw them on Instagram promoted by Fresno Street Eats and decided to give them a try since the event was held close by my house one day. Small truck with slow and unremarkable service rendered. Took about an hour to finally get our plain churros with a small cup of vanilla ice cream. Sadly, it wasn't worth the wait or costs of $7 for an order overcooked churros which did not look anything like the pictures. It did taste ok, although very hard. There was enough sugar and cinnamon to satisfy my sugar craving but if you had churros from The Loop, you'd be disappointed in this place. read more

First of all she grabbed my money and dropped a twenty dollar bill between the window and fridge and stood there with a blank face as if she can't do anything about it and me continue to give her more. My first experience with Rubia's was at a Downtown block party in Fulton street. Having had tried a competitor I was hoping for a better experience since I was left unimpressed. I understand the long wait because for one the order line was long but I knew that marked a good sign so I decided to wait. I ordered a strawberry cheesecake churro and my friend ordered a regular churro and I decided to also try their horchata. After the wait we dug in and I must admit, the first bite made me realize why the line was so long. The churro didn't really need the fixings because it was delicious in itself, if you love to go all out definitely try one of their gourmet concoctions but if you prefer simplicity the churro will not disappoint. The cheesecake one could come off as a bit too sweet but non the less it was delicious and of course it did hint of a strawberry cheesecake. Now the horchata on the other hand was lacking extremely in flavor and substance, it tasted watered down and it barely had any cinnamon flavor to it which was quite ironic but what can you expect from a place the specializes in churros. Although, the horchata when paired with the churro was a nice combination but I doubt it was meant to be that way. Driving through our neighborhood we saw a bright pink food truck and decided to check it out. We walked up and the scent was amazing! We ordered the cinnamon sugar churros and got back in the car and took a bite.....absolute heaven! The outside was crispy and the inside was perfectly soft. I also ordered the strawberry cheesecake churros that came with ice cream- the churros were burnt on the outside not too bad because the strawberry icing was good until I took a bite and realized the inside was not cooked thoroughly. I wish I could give another half star for my overall rating because although their tacos were ok, but the elote was on point. It had just enough of all the toppings to give it the perfect flavor. They were only serving churros when I went which is what we went for so that was good. It was my first time there. We asked them questions about the different options and the cashier lady was super rude as if I was already supposed to know how they do things even though it was my first time there. Total was $21 and I gave her a twenty dollar Bill and a five dollar Bill. She took the money then dropped the twenty inside her trailer between the window and a freezer she has in front of the window. She then said, "the Bill fell." So I replied, "yeah it's down there inside your food truck" then she said, "I couldn't even see how much the Bill was and I can't reach it" so I told her to move the freezer so she could get it because it was still in her trailer. So after some attitude, she finally moved the freezer so she could get behind it and she got the twenty. I couldn't believe she just wanted me to hand her more money even though the Bill was in her trailer and she was the one that dropped it. everyone at school was always telling to about trying these churros out so i did and were bomb as heck, BUT i think they need to work on their other foods. the lemonade was very bitter and my asada curly fries weren't even warm, my friends loaded chicken garlic fries were cold as well. I would've thought that because we had went at the time they opened they would be warm, but I guess not! also i especially didn't like how they had the cilantro and onions together, some people are extremely allergic to either or, but still would like one or the other. Also, they should be more organized as in when taking the order, taking time with the customer, and reviewing to make sure the order is correct.
