Lou and his crew were fast and professional, while also being easy going and kind. The amount of boxes and furniture they can fit into their sprinter vans is unbelievably impressive. From my first call to the company to waving the team off when the job was completed, each interaction was cheerful, kind, patient, and incredibly helpful. On moving day, they showed up, bright-eyed, bushy-tailed, smiling, and ready to work. The team: Milo, Dragon, and Josip were incredibly helpful. Milo took one look at me, realized how flustered I was about everything, and took a minute to calm me down. Who does that??? He and his team worked efficiently and calmly. He even fixed a loose leg on a piece of furniture. Again, who does that?! So incredibly kind and helpful. There was a hiccup at the storage unit; we had an issue getting in, and they were patient and kind. Everything went off without any problems, minor or major. They were just, well, Magical! As for pricing, they were the only moving company that didn't charge predatory pricing. Magical Moving didn't charge me travel time, waiting time, or anything insane. Price-wise, they were extremely reasonable. Unlike the other moving companies I contacted. The other moving companies, once they understood it was a last-minute move, tripled their price, added travel time, wait time, everything. That was a nightmare. Magical movers treated me like a human being, not an ATM machine. I'll be using them again shortly. I just signed a lease, and, of course, Magical Moving will magically move me!

In the fall, she'll be moving into an apartment in Astoria. While we found a place to store her stuff, we couldn't figure out a way to get it from Manhattan to Astoria. On the flight in on Wednesday, we were coupled with quotes of over $1,000, or trying to navigate traffic, or multiple Ubers with a mattress and 11 boxes and a tv, or throwing it all in the trash. I sent a quote request on Wednesday. The responses and follow up were quick, thorough and easy to navigate through. By Thursday afternoon, we had a fantastic quote, a time scheduled and the COI required by her student housing. By Friday at 10:00 am, she was completely moved. The service was professional, exceptional, and just easy. Less than 36 hours after the request was sent. Thank you so much. With how easy this was, we had more time to enjoy the city and take it all in before she comes home for summer. I cannot recommend this company enough.

Apparently they can't double park to move on my "narrow" street, that is a one way with parking on both side and even a bike lane. Several other moving trucks double parked - but they just couldn't. A team of 2 individuals who arrived apparently high as kites. Tony and Chris were late, sluggish, clumsy and took 2 hours to load a small job that would've taken 1 hour to load AND arrive to the destination of the move. They showed up to chaos and had chaotic guidance, so it's my fault they did things like place the sofa on it's side on the storage unit ground and tossed shelves on top. So if you have any chaos in your move and you use Minute Movers, expect some shit to get destroyed and be placed even more chaotically... and don't forget, they can't park on Brooklyn streets because they are narrow... But the job they did deserves recognition. Among the many people worth a shout-out: designer Chaya Uzan whose enthusiasm and ideas gave us a sense that our project was quite special; and Robbie Goldberg, our day-to-day contact and project manager, who brought a craftsman's eye to all aspects of the job. When problems were encountered, problems were fixed. An example: once we installed a new oven in the kitchen we realized that we would have to do without a favorite built-in spice cabinet. Robbie came up with ingenious fix requiring some custom carpentry so that the spice rack did not disappear but became an integral of the whole. Anthony, our renovation expert, was our first contact with A to Z. He encouraged us not to give up on what we wanted the project to look like even though other renovators had told us it was impossible to do. He also offered to answer any questions we might have along the way. Then there's Shevy, the permit and insurance coordinator. She dealt with the necessary paperwork and kept the inspectors at bay so we did not have to deal with those headaches. And last but not least, Mario, the site manager, who was there every day, hands-on, always professional and pleasant. On that note, the entire team seemed to like one another and treated us and each other with a refreshing degree of decency and consideration. To summarize: The team at ATOZ was thoroughly professional and kept us informed with clear, consistent communication every step of the way. Importantly, the team worked efficiently to stay on schedule and were fair when an unexpected issues arose, providing clear solutions.
