After signing, he informed me this agreement required a significant and immediate deposit. This deposit is refundable only by initiating Virginia's three day cancellation rule, which seems onerous, and obviously, includes considerable time pressure. I ripped up the agreement.

However, after spending over two and a half hours reviewing their presentation and proposal, the quoted price came in at 70% higher than the average of four other estimates we had already received -- all from companies also vetted through Trex and with solid reputations. Even with the time-sensitive incentives (13% off for signing on the spot, plus another 7% off if they could use our project for before/after marketing), their price was still 45% higher than the others. During the presentation, the rep proudly mentioned that 93% of their customers sign immediately after the appointment. I can only assume those folks didn't get multiple quotes. To be clear, I believe Prince William Home Improvement is a solid company and would likely do a great job. I just can't justify paying 45-70% more for a project when other equally reputable companies are offering comparable quality for significantly less.

The two man were also coming in and out of my kitchen door (connected to deck) inside the house to see if my windows were covered or not WITHOUT knocking/permission. Made me feel very uncomfortable. Pricing - the owner said it'll be a few hundred when HE STOPPED BY in person after evaluating the house but hit us with a bill that was over a thousand dollars. This quote was for urgent service however, he tried billing us much more. Inconsistency occurred throughout the interaction. PLEASE do yourself a favor and hire someone else. I informed that he'll be paid once insurance pays or he can directly claim with insurance, which he agreed however he is now threatening to put a lien on the house. However today, a year later from starting, my deck remains unfinished and only passed inspection after we personally went through the process with the county. From the first "final delivery" of the deck to me is where I started seeing issues. Huge gaps in the Trex were made at each post that collect water, incorrect pieces of Trex were used on the railings, Trex were cut inappropriately in the middle of the flooring, and none of the footers of the original deck were removed. Cleanup was terrible, large cuts were made in railings that needed to be rectified, the edges of the deck were left unfinished, and the overall workmanship was very poor. Over time, HaiJoe "fixed" a few of the issues, while many of them remain "as is" as they would otherwise require a complete rebuild to be resolved. Many of the "fixes" actually caused additional sets of issues, and the owner still sent the same Foreman! Elder Ramos, the owner was hard to get a hold of, then hostile on the phone, and altogether unresponsive. Elder accused us of lying, raised his voice, and hung up on us over the phone. He lied that our deck passed its final inspection, which it did not until months later when we took care of it ourselves. I am so disappointed with the deck that I have been left with. Every day I use it; I see the poor workmanship that was put into it. Do not use this company unless you want a terrible product and bad customer service.
