But after a second inquiry asking for an opportunity to solve my issue I did respond that the job was already arranged with someone else. I am very pleased to know that the posting of my displeasure of their seeming disinterest precipitated a genuine response and willingness to correct what might have been simply a "dropping of the ball" I will consider Alger Deck and Fence in future for their help with similar transactions. We reached out to several local shed companies. Most blew us off or spent little effort in trying to earn our business. Josh from Alger Sheds was quick to respond and come out to provide an onsite estimate. Our project was unique in that our shed needed to be constructed onsite due to access issues. Josh was informative, non-pressure and detailed with the quote and build process. He spent time explaining the different options and pros/cons of each. Once we signed the contract with Alger, we were told about 5-6 weeks for the shed to be installed. Alger delivered and installed the shed in less than 4 weeks. On the day of the install they were on time, respectful of our property and left the job site clean. They completed our 10x16 shed in one day!! Try ANYONE ELSE! It took a total of 4 calls over 2 weeks to get a return call. I was requesting a privacy fence be redone for my back yard. Tony, without apologizing for taking 2 weeks to get back to me, states if it's not a big enough yard he can't be bothered and requested the measurements of my back yard. He was condescending to say the least. I was surprised because he came recommended from a neighbor. When I told the neighbor about my experience with Tony he apologized and explained he heard from one other person he recommended him to had a similar experience and would not be recommending him in the future. I hired Alger Sheds to build a custom shed for me. I did research and got quotes from a few vendors. They were about in the middle with price, but the quality of their sheds and the options they offered were the best, so I went with them. I had some issues with my HOA permitting the shed in my yard without a fence which took several weeks to resolve. Tony refunded me my deposit without question and waited patiently for me to get the HOA issue resolved. I got it done, repaid the deposit, and about a month later they were installing a gravel pad in my backyard. That took about a day. A couple weeks later they delivered all the shed materials to the house on a truck, and walked them down to the opposite side of my yard. They assembled everything onsite and did a fantastic job. I have gotten several complements on the shed. They matched the colors to my house, custom built a ramp for my mower, installed custom shelves inside. Overall, it's a great shed at a reasonable price. I had an issue with the ramp recently, and they came back out to provide post-sales support to get the ramp fixed. A lot of contractors wouldn't bother. A+ rating for Tony Alger and Alger Sheds. read more

While the woman who answered the phone was very nice, I never received a quote or a call back. This was a week and a half ago. Maybe they think the job is too small. The irony here is that I have a large yard and intend to have the whole fence replaced eventually. Guess who I'm not going to call for that? Here's an update: Tony offered, publicly and privately by message, to provide me with a quote so I called him back today. He lectured me about my being inappropriate by posting a negative review on yelp and made it clear he had no interest in doing business with me. I guess he apologized and offered to provide a quote to make his business look good on yelp, but for no other reason. He mentioned the fact that my review was still posted. Why would I remove a legitimate, honest review simply because he reached out to me? Tony Alger from Alger Deck and Fencing came out and performed a very thorough inspection of my deck and explained what needed to be repaired and together we formulated a timeline. He was professional and helpful in his knowledge of how to repair my deck foundation pillars. With over 1250 square feet of decking, I need a company who will do a good job at a reasonable cost. Tony's crew replaced 2 deck foundation pillars and built a beautiful gate on my deck. They also rebuilt two gates in a side yard and installed very sturdy hardware. Great job and at a great price. We used Alger Deck and Fence to install a 4 ft red cedar fence around the perimeter of our yard. During the initial consultation, you could tell Tony (the owner) knew what he was talking about and had been in the fencing business for some time. After the quote, we needed to get approval from our local HOA and Tony was great about working around the approval schedule. Tony came out to our home and we talked abut our design ideas. He made some excellent suggestions that we went with too. He is so layed back and calm, no one could EVER feel an ounce of pressure from Tony Alger. He really knows how to design decks! This deck is built like Fort Knox! The attention to detail is unlike any I have ever seen! The rest of our home will fall down way before this deck will ever move! It is EXACTLY what we asked for and we both agree that it is SOOOOO much more beautiful then either of us expected. The workers that came were so professional, kind and just plan jolly!
