For a 5 star foodie experience, you will want to try Ruby Bistro! A wonderful surprise meal here in Stockholm, Sweden. A short walking distance from Hotel Reisen.
We walked on beautiful cobblestone grounds and looked at many restaurant menus along the way. We came upon this Bistro, looked at the menu, and we decided to have our late dinner here. It was nearly 10 pm and the skies are still bright and beautiful. The weather was very cold in the low 40's.
Entering the quaint and welcoming Bistro, we are greeted by Fabian. He came from behind the bar and sat us down immediately. The warm decor and elegant table settings hinted at what was to become.
Our orders: The Three Course menu:
Chèvre salad-Gratinated chèvre on buttered sourdough bread, mixed leaf salad, red onions, beet root, walnut and honey.
Skomakarlada: sirloin steak, crispy pork belly, potato pure', gravy, and scallions.
Kaffegodis: Chocolate truffle, macaron with salted caramel, and punch roll.
---------
Cordon Bleu: Schnitzel of Swedish Duroc pork stuffed with Gruyère and Bayonne ham, butter fried potatoes, red wine sauce and herb butter.
Moules Frites: Mussels in aioli with pommes frites. Small order is very fulfilling and generous. The mussels were amazing and delicious. The fries are good, but just fries.
Service: 5 stars for Fabian Backteman, our server for the night.
Family owned restaurant, with owner Costas, also known as Constantine. Two brothers run and own this restaurant and the sister restaurant named Grill Ruby.
We met Costas and he allowed me to take a picture behind the magic! The kitchen.
Food: 5/5 stars and beyond. Every dish was superb, savory, flavorful, delicious and more. The only average item was the pomme frites.
Ambiance: 5/5 stars. Warm and inviting atmosphere. Unique lighting and elegant table settings. Decor is rustic and simple.
A bathroom is available indoors.
Highly recommend trying here when in Stockholm!
