Parmesan bread for artichoke dip and Parmesan bread appetizer
    J M S.

This visit was for a friend's birthday. Their choice on me. All the options in the world, and this establishment is what they chose because they've never tried this restaurant before. Given my previous visits to other locations, I offered the advice of, "it can be a hit, or a major miss". Well....I was pleasantly surprised. Minus a few things that my friend pointed out. First of all, they had just barely opened for the day. I had absolutely NO problem waiting as I said, "at least we know the food will be fresh"! Friend became impatient as we had additional plans, so it became a takeout order. I ordered the Garlic Peppered Ribeye steak well done at 16 oz. It was FANTASTIC! And FINALLY cooked to well done perfection. My friend ordered the New York Steak 8 oz and requested medium rare. Of course, of course, it just had to arrive medium well done. Like I told them, "this place can either be a hit or a miss". Next up, they were upset that the garden salad states in the description that is comes with red onions and none were to be found. Yes, disappointing, but it arrived fresh and it did include the cheese, egg, tomatoes, and croutons; I pointed out. TBH, after looking at others photos, it appears NO garden salad at this restaurant has ever had red onions included . Perhaps Ruby River needs to delete that from their description. The parmesan tomatoes side showed up with underripe tomatoes which was very disappointing because that's the one side I said is a MUST TRY! Needless to say, my friend said they were good nonetheless (but added on, they probably could make even better at home...lol). Caesar salad was lacking in cheese and the side dressing wasn't half full but it was fresh and good. Shrimp cocktail appetizer isn't worth the money for six tiny pieces of shrimp, then they just pour on the cocktail sauce on the lettuce bed instead of having the sauce on the side. It was good and even better with sliced lemons for juice; but really, a tiny appetizer considering the cost. The artichoke dip and Parmesan bread appetizer is a MUST TRY! 5 out of 5. Perfect seasoning and crispy toasted fresh Parmesan bread. Plenty of portions for 2-3 people as an app. My friend really liked the garlic mashed potatoes with white gravy because it was made out of red skin potatoes and the skin was still on some in the provided "to go" cup. Ugh ugh, for me there. I absolutely abhor mashed potatoes with skin involved but to each their own. All in all, a 4 star visit. My Ribeye steak lasted me three days because it was huge, flavorful, cooked perfectly, and most importantly, FRESH!

Stopped by for dinner and ordered the rib eye and prime rib. Our server was super attentive, friendly and gave great recommendations. You also get this large baked bread. The prime rib was perfectly booked, juicy, thick and delicious. The horse radish was shaved which was great with a large portion of au jus. The satay mushrooms were delicious and the mash potatoes with the white gravy creamy and well seasoned. The rib eye was juicy and the twice baked potato was large. Overall, you get a huge bang for your buck for quality prime rib. Would highly recommend

I stopped in to see the car show. I tried to have lunch at the restaurant sponsoring the show. I ordered the tortilla soup, and some chicken. The soup was brought to my table, and it was barely even warm. The waitress never came back to my table until my entree was brought out. I explained the unsafe condition of the soup and she offered another bowl but I said to just take it away. I cut into my grilled chicken breast and it was barely warm as well. I waved my staff member over and explained that this food was also barely warm. They offered to retry, but by this time I had lost all trust in anything being served was safe. I didn't want to chance food poisoning. The bread was good so I give it 1 star. I am a huge proponent of restaurant food meeting the 40/140 standards of food safety. They really need to take a look at this issue and discuss food safety with the cooking staff. Go at your own risk.

I"m so sad. This was my place to go when I wanted to have an awesome steak. Unfortunately there been some changes. No longer selling the port-house. Got myself a ribeye this time. The calamari's breading was falling apart and tasted a bit frozen still. Mushrooms and steak both didn't have seasoning and tasted really greasy. I had to keep adding salt as I was eating. I switched out the mushrooms for a steak soup to see maybe that would be better but that was also missing seasoning. I think the best part of the meal was the bread in the beginning. The waiter was really nice as well. And the guy in the entrance was fantastic. He seems like he real cared about the experience of the customers. Him and the waitress is the reason I'm not leaving a lower rating as I was planning. And also the reason I'll try to come back to see if this was just a fluke of experience with the meal.

They treat you like family, and you can get a juicy steak and big baked potato for a very reasonable price! This is not a fancy, big city chophouse! It's a classic western steakhouse. Not a huge menu, but what they serve is very tasty! The atmosphere is relaxed and the decor is western ranch house. The bar and country music make you feel at home in cowboy hat and boots, if that's your thing! Most things on the menu are good and some items are very good. Every appetizer I've had is amazing. Their filet mignon or ribeye and baked potatoes are classic and about as good as it gets. The fresh baked bread and salads are delicious additions to most meals. And frankly the prices are the same or lower than you can get in a grocery store for the same quality unless you know a cattle rancher! But they do the cooking and bring it to your table! Good luck trying to make room for dessert, but those options are good, too! They will package one up to take home if you need to. Make sure to come with an appetite!

11/10 new your strip and baked potato. Would also strongly recommend the root beer! 0 regrets, great stop.

I've had food from here twice. The first time I had steak and shrimp, and I loved it. The second time I tried the salmon Oscar, which was a little dry and not well seasoned. The staff was kind and attentive, but the child seat situation needs to be revisited. The high chair was too short for our daughter to eat from the table, while the booster seat had no straps and required one of us to eat with just one hand so we could hold her in place with the other.

We had a gift card so we only paid about $20 and still felt like that was too much. The place was packed on a Monday night so it has its fans, but we thought the food was terrible. The artichoke dip had very little flavor but our steaks were really bad. We ordered them medium rare and they were served well done and the texture was weird. They were tough and almost didn't seem like steak. We did like the salad and baked potato. Service was really good, we had a great server.

I came because a local recommended them. The outside of the building is showing its age as well as the inside, but it is nice overall. I ordered the Filet with salad and fries. The steak was cooked properly but lacked any flavor. They wrap bacon around the steak, but it did not add much. The food was hot and fresh. I was told it is a step above Longhorn, but my experience would rate this below Longhorn.

Located near the Delta Center parking can be a little bit tricky with street parking being metered for various nearby garages that charge by the hour so allow a few extra minutes to find a place to park. It's got a hip and modern and lively vibe once you step inside. We visited on a Friday and they even have a DJ spinning tunes to the noise level is a little high if you don't mind that vibe. Our server Anthony was spot on to greet us and welcome us to the restaurant. He reviewed the menu in detail and gave us several recommendations to consider. We started off with some craft cocktails (about $25/each) but they were fun to enjoy for our celebration this evening. We tried the steak frites and lamb chops paired with a side of their brussel sprouts. The steak was a 12oz NY strip with some fresh cut frites. Cooked perfectly and tasty. The lamb came out in little lollipops served on roasted carrots that were a sizable portion. Our meals came out promptly and served with their skillet bread. Our meals were so filling that we didn't have room for dessert but they have a nice dessert menu with several good choices. Thank you Anthony for a nice dining experience and welcoming us on our first visit to STK Steakhouse.

We decided to order several items off the happy hour menu, mainly appetizers and small bites to share. At this location, there is no happy hour on drinks, probably given it's SLC. Our food came out almost all at once by several members of the wait staff. We ordered the STK burger and frites, calamari, popcorn chicken, tuna tartare taco, wagyu meatballs, short rib quesadilla, and wagyu tacos. Both tacos were good, the popcorn chicken and calamari were nothing to write home about, just typical fried food. The STK burger was good, even for a small bite, however I grew bored with the frites it was served with after the second fry. The atmosphere was pleasant, neon signs and fake plant walls. Overall it seems like this restaurant would be better suited for an intimate date night.

The service was also top notch. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive and there was who I assume to be a manager walking around checking on both customers and the food at the buffet frequently. Unfortunately, that's where the "premium" feel ended for me. The food that I had was honestly just okay. Honestly, I don't think any of it would feel out of place at a much cheaper buffet. The prime rib was kind of dry and the crab legs were very very skinny. The food I enjoyed the most was the NY steak, red snapper, and the mussels. None of them however would be worth the price tag. All that said, if that's where my reviewed stopped, I'd probably be giving two stars. The desserts were by and far the stars of the show. The dessert table itself felt like one of those magical tables at hogwarts that's got every delicious thing imaginable. Both the presentation, and execution of each and every dessert was extremely high quality. My favorites were the bread pudding, blueberry lemony cheese cakes and creme puffs. This buffet is almost worth it for the dessert choice alone. If I were to come back, it would be on a week day where it's a little cheaper and I'd consider it a dessert trip rather than dinner.

Last night, I brought my team to the downtown Salt Lake City location with one goal in mind: to let them experience "Unreasonable Hospitality" not just hear about it. And once again, The Capital Grille delivered flawlessly. What makes this brand exceptional is its unwavering consistency. Whether I'm dining in Las Vegas on the Strip, Arizona, Michigan, Denver, or Florida, I know exactly what I'm going to get: - Impeccable service - Perfectly executed food (hot food hot, cold food cold--every single time) - An immaculate, elevated dining environment But Salt Lake City? This location is personal. It's special. Before the dinner, I reached out hoping to have my favorite server, Jeana, take care of us. She wasn't scheduled... but what happened next says everything about this team and this brand, she came in on her day off to serve us. And Jeana is simply exceptional. Her service is intuitive, polished, and completely effortless. She reads the table perfectly, anticipating needs before they're ever spoken, pacing the experience seamlessly, and delivering each touchpoint with genuine warmth and confidence. She doesn't just serve a table, she owns the experience, making every guest feel seen, valued, and taken care of at the highest level. That level of care, ownership, and pride is rare. From the moment we walked in, the experience was dialed in: - Hosts Kylie, Maeve, and Jasmine welcomed us with warmth and professionalism - Managers Janie and Aaron were fully present, orchestrating the floor and ensuring every detail was perfect - Every touchpoint--from greeting to dessert--felt intentional, polished, and elevated This wasn't just dinner. It was a masterclass in hospitality. If you're looking for a place that defines consistency, excellence, and what it truly means to care about the guest experience, The Capital Grille is it. And the Salt Lake City location continues to exceed even the highest expectations. Highly, highly recommend.

Husband's steak was also pretty excellent. Seasoning was good, nothing overly salty or garlicky. The lobster mac was sadly lacking any notable amount of lobster, and for a $30 side, I'd expect at least a little bit. Mashed potatoes were very run-of-the-mill. Asparagus with hollandaise was good, cooked very well, but way too much pepper. If you don't tend to over-pepper your vegetables regularly, that side probably isn't for you. My largest complaint is that there is nothing here to justify the price point. I can get equivalent service and food at a quarter of the price elsewhere. I would happily come back and pay $150 for two people for the food and service we received, but our bill came to well over $400 with tax/tip for 1 appetizer, 2 steaks, 3 sides, and 2 drinks.
