Wowwwww! The braised short rib was so good! It literally fell apart! The Gnocchi was melting in our mouths! Can't believe how good the food is here! We also got some oysters! (Not featured) so fresh! Pretty impressed considering we're in Utah! The server was always attentive and gave the best guidance when it came to our order! The atmosphere is definitely date night material! Loved this place! Alsooo! Have the bartender make you the special drink! We have like 5!

So happy that White Horse is back. This has been one of my spots in the city for years now, and it's become a tradition to stop in for oyster shooters. It can be hard to find good oysters in Utah, and theirs are among the best of the best. My go-to is their steak sandwich, which comes with goat cheese and tender steak medallions cooked to your liking. Their menu is stacked with a variety of dishes, from sandwiches to pasta, and seafood. I truly love this restaurant and have many fond memories dining here!

Requested a custom drink after a fewZ hit the nail on the head! Thank you Grace!

Amazing. My wife and I have been coming once a month for a few years. ( minus when it was burnt down) Every time has been delicious with amazing cocktails! Love the food and staff, a restraint I recommend for friends and family when traveling to Utah.

White Horse is a super rad restaurant downtown SLC. Plan ahead with rezi's or expect a slight wait (even mid week). We sat a communal table which wasn't too tight keeping us elbow to elbow with the group next to us. The Manhattan's were delicious as was the Wagyu steak. The one letdown was the pork belly. I should have snapped a photo of it. It was brought out and was just one small piece covered by salad and a chunk of tomato. I actually questioned the waiter if we ordered the right thing. Although the pork belly was good, like I said, it was one small piece. Definitely wouldn't waste money on that again. The vibes in the restaurant are great though. It's not quiet but you don't have to yell to hear each other either. It's definitely a spot I'd come back to.

We had an unplanned lunch at White Horse. So happy they're back. The inside looks great, definitely check out the gallery wall, there's a firefighter art piece that remembers that unfortunate day. No wait when we got there, they checked IDs and sat us right away. We started with the famous eggs and chips and they're still just as good as I remember. We both went with the seafood Louie and that was a good call. Lots of crab, super fresh, and actually filling. The Cosmo and the Dirty Bond martini were so nice! Our server was awesome, easy to talk to and made everything feel super relaxed. He suggested the Louie and we were glad we listened. Overall, it was a perfect lunch.

Came back here to try the breakfast/brunch menu and food was okay. Better to try for dinner than their breakfast/brunch menu. Service was still great and ambiance was still casual. Ordered the chocolate lava cake and it came back not as good as last time.

Grab a spot at the beautiful bar and enjoyed my time here! The bartenders are great. I ordered the braised short rib, beet salad and phoenix cocktail. The beet salad was fresh and delicious. The short rib was savory. The cocktail had a nice kick to it. Cute spot for dinner!

I really enjoyed this place in downtown Salt Lake City. I had a burger that was outstanding. It was served with some greens. I found the staff to be attentive and friendly. I will definitely go back

Came here on a date night on a Sunday and the staff seemed kind of scattered and not very professional. Our server didn't really check in on us and kept us waiting what felt like forever to finally order in some food. The drinks were okay.. I might be biased cause I'm more of a beer connoisseur. I got the seed and smoke cocktail. For food we got the oysters they definitely were fresh and had great quality. We also got the confit duck wings which were good but the gochujang sauce was definitely on the salty side of things. Overall not a bad place but not perfect either. They do get extra points for clean plating :)

If you want wine, spirits and the best Brussel sprouts in town, you found it! Service was stellar, love the late night vibe and that this SLC staple is back and better than ever! It's a fun vibe and the bar is beautiful. Love that they present our check on an old book! Think vintage academia meets night cap spirits! We'll be back! Fun girls night!

This place was great! We sat at the bar and ate. The bartenders were all so friendly! They had great music playing, the atmosphere was dark and relaxing. I got the grilled cheese with tomato bisque which was delicious and perfect for a cold night, and my boyfriend got the wagyu steak. His steak came out overcooked than wanted but it was still good.

Bourbon Butterscotch Pudding was absolutely amazing. Heavenly. Order two. You won't want to share. I'd have gotten a bathtub full. It was that good.

At $29 with the steak, they're definitely on the pricier side, but the portion size helps justify the cost. The serving is massive--I could easily see two or even three people sharing it as a meal. By the time I finished, it honestly looked like I had barely made a dent in it. The steak was incredibly tender and packed with flavor, and every bite was loaded with toppings. The staff was also very friendly and welcoming. I stopped by during an off-peak time, so it wasn't very busy, which made for a relaxed experience. One thing that really stood out was their Guinness. As someone who appreciates a proper pour, I have to give them credit--they know exactly what they're doing. Too many places rush it, but here you can tell they take pride in serving it the right way. Their drink selection is also extensive. Whether you're a beer fan or looking to try a unique cocktail, there's no shortage of great options. I'd definitely come back, especially with a group to help tackle those nachos!

The food was good, we had the potato empanada and the wagyu skewers. Both were tasty and prepared well. There was live music that was really good and we enjoyed the people they had booked. There is a cool speak easy down stairs and a dance floor upstairs (we didn't see that). Overall, the place is really cool. I will concur that our minimal encounter with staff was less that stellar. Not sure why there were all the security guys mean mugging ayerone. Recommend this place for a drink and some grub.

Good drinks! Good vibe!…read more Stopped here for drinks on a Saturday night and the place was popping! We had a group of five and we were lucky to score some stool/bar seating right up front. The prices were very reasonable! Drafts were $7 and some cocktails were $11. The bartenders were super friendly and polite and talented! I really enjoyed watching them prepare five drinks at once without loosing a beat! The music was also great! They were rocking early 2000s jams. I ordered their penecilin cocktail which had ginger, honey, coconut and lemon with whiskey and it was delicious!! Everyone else enjoyed their drinks and we had a great time!

In full transparency it has been 2-3 years since my first and last visit to Water Witch. I noticed this in my drafts and thought I should complete my review. That said, I think I hyped this place up in my head too much before my visit because of the James Beard nod. So when it didn't quite hit the mark for me, I was disappointed. It's quite an intimate bar. By that I mean small space inside. The main bar has seating of course and there are a few seating areas directly behind the barstool area. There is a small walkway that separates the bar and the seating area. So the seating area is looking straight forward at the bartenders and the backs of people on barstools. I felt like the people behind me were staring into my soul lol, but that's a me problem ha. It's a modern design and beautifully decorated. I had two drinks. One from the menu and one that I told the bartender what I liked and disliked. He then made a drink based upon my taste. In my opinion it tasted similar to the one from the menu, which was disappointing because I was hoping for something different. There was one bartender that evening and one bar back, so even with the few people at the bar (I'd say 6-7 including me and a guest) and the 4 people seated behind us. It took some time to get his attention and order a drink. Which is part of the reason I only had two drinks. I would probably give this place another try since it's been some time since I've been there. As I always like to say. Stop in and judge for yourself.
