    More fries...SO YUMMY!!

Mimi was so friendly and fun! Noisy little bistro inside with plenty of outside seating Food was out of this world. Tried the restaurant because it made many top ten places in Salt Lake City. We were not disappointed!

We came in for dinner on a Saturday around seven and were able to get seated quickly. Our servers were friendly and very helpful. I opted to try the oysters which I really enjoyed, but there was a lot of sand in the first pair so I had to get a replacement. I really enjoyed my martinis and they were made perfectly. We opted for the bucatini pasta and the shrimp pasta. Unfortunately, they were VERY salty. Like someone had put way too much salt in the pasta water. We didn't want to complain again, so we just ate it. The menu is very limited for lunch but has some great options. Maybe we just chose the wrong ones that day.

This was a great place for brunch. Even though it was a holiday weekend, there was plenty of room, and the service was very friendly. The restaurant is extremely clean and pleasantly decorated. Everything was cooked perfectly, and very delicious. This is a great spot for a brunch, lunch, etc..

We watched a video on this place before heading to Utah and ended up here because it was one of the only places close enough to hotel that was open after 9pm. We were greeted right away by their friendly hostess and sat down. We ordered drinks and appetizers, dinner arrived shortly after. The bread appetizer and salad was delicious. My girls shared the carbonara, my husband got the stroganoff and I had the steak frites. Everything was so good. It was my daughter's first time trying carbonara and I was nervous when it arrived because of the raw egg on top. They both just mixed it up and to my surprise ate all of it. They both did say they wished there were more pasta to go with the huge portion of bacon. All in all, I would highly recommend this place!!

Came to The CO Straight from the airport. It's located in SLC is an upscale part of town. It was Saturday and they were serving brunch so we both opted to get the huevos rancheros which was out of this world tasty! Our server was very friendly and brought me salsa verde upon request. I highly recommend Copper Onion to anyone visiting SLC!

Look this place is a staple for a reason. It's consistently always good. It's consistently always busy and it's consistently always worth my money. If you've not been, though, I would consider it one of the best that we have in the valley. Service is great restaurant is beautiful and food is always delicious

We were pleasantly surprised by the food. We randomly stopped to eat here on our road trip and my family is pretty happy with the choice. We received prompt service and the food was well received even by our toddlers. The cauliflower and shishito peppers were well seasoned, sauce was nice but it was delicious even without. The toddlers shared the carbonara plate and the staff were so thoughtful. They brought out two smaller separate plates each with its own yolk to mix, I thought it was particularly nice. I happily collected mom/wife tax with each dish, especially my husband's trout and lentils.

Visited Salt Lake City and stopped by The Copper Onion for the first time--everything was delicious. The restaurant has a cozy, welcoming feel, and the service was friendly from the start. I had a butter rum cocktail (don't remember the exact name), but it was really nice and well-balanced. The fried pork belly was a standout--crispy, tender, and full of flavor. My gem salad was fresh, crisp, and tasty. For my main, I had the steak Coulotte, which was perfectly cooked, tender, and packed with flavor. The only disappointment was the sticky toffee pudding. The flavor was good, but the cake itself was drier than I prefer for this dessert. Overall though, this place really shines with its quality. Definitely worth a visit if you're in town.

This was an amazing place to be!!!!! 4 of us decided to have dinner here on Tues night. When we got here around 6:30 they were already very busy. We were told a table out on patio will be about 5 mins so we had a cocktail while we waited for our table. Shortly after we were served with our drinks our table was ready. Keith was our server and he was really efficient! He came took our orders and was able to answered questioned we had. We were really impressed with the presentation and how everything we ordered tasted so delicious ! The interior of restaurant and out on patio looks so cohesive and flows well. We had chicken, burger, pastas, sides all tasted so fresh and flavorful that led us to order desserts after. I would love to come back and try few more items. It was really good and we highly recommended !

We recently dined at The Copper Onion after having it recommended by several locals. After being let down by a handful of overhyped spots on our road trip (looking at you, TikTok), we came in hoping this would be the one--the "golden ticket." While it didn't quite reach those heights, it also wasn't a total miss. To start with the positives, we were seated promptly, which honestly surprised us given how busy we were told it usually is. Our server, Paul, greeted us right away with a smile and set the tone for the evening. He was attentive, upbeat, and genuinely pleasant--great service like that goes a long way and didn't go unnoticed. We kicked things off with the salt and pepper mussels and the romaine salad (a Caesar-inspired dish). The salad, unfortunately, came out dry and was difficult to cut with a butter knife--this is one of those moments where a steak knife would've made a world of difference. We ended up asking for extra dressing just to make it workable. The mussels had good flavor, but the portion felt small and the mussels themselves were on the tiny side. There's definite potential there, but it fell a bit short of expectations. For entrées, we ordered the Wagyu stroganoff and the meatloaf. The stroganoff featured tender Wagyu and perfectly cooked, clearly house-made pasta--but the portion was surprisingly small. It was one of those dishes where you're just getting into it, and suddenly... it's gone. Even a neighboring table that ordered two seemed underwhelmed at first glance. The meatloaf, on the other hand, arrived looking like the comfort dish we were hoping for--a generous portion over mashed potatoes. The sauce wasn't traditional but had a good flavor. That said, the meatloaf itself felt like it was trying a little too hard to reinvent the wheel instead of delivering that classic, comforting experience. Now, the green beans... I have to mention the green beans. They were very fresh--like, possibly introduced to heat only briefly in passing. Think "just picked from the garden and sent straight to the plate with a quick pep talk." Unfortunately, they were so firm we couldn't eat them. A little more time in the kitchen (or even a quick blanch) would've gone a long way here. On a positive note, the drinks were solid and enjoyable, and overall pricing felt fair for what we ordered. All in all, The Copper Onion has some strong points--especially the service (thank you, Paul)--but the execution in certain areas didn't quite match the hype. It's a good restaurant, just not the standout we were hoping for.

    Parpadelle beef stroganoff
    Eddie C.

Salt Lake City has its gems, and The Copper Onion is among them. Smack dab in the heart of downtown, it's the kind of place where the atmosphere feels effortlessly upscale but still cozy enough to make you linger a little longer. I dove into the pappardelle beef stroganoff -- wide ribbons of pasta tangled up with rich, savory goodness that felt like a warm hug in a fancy suit...And let me tell you, the dishes parading past my table had me second-guessing my order (in the best way). Everything looked like it belonged on a magazine cover and my fork.

    Elote
    Carleen I.

The Copper Onion is another fan favorite in SLC, so naturally, we had to check it out. We had an 8:30 p.m. dinner reservation on a Saturday, so the restaurant was packed to capacity as expected. The atmosphere was lively. The service was warm, attentive, and fairly quick, all things considered. The reviews all recommended the Wagyu Beef Stroganoff, so we ordered the Wagyu Beef Stroganoff. LOL. Additionally, we ordered the Shrimp and Grits and a side of Elote. The stroganoff was rich and creamy with tender wagyu that practically melted in your mouth. The shrimp and grits were...OK. The shrimp was perfectly cooked, but the texture of the grits wasn't to my preference. I like my grits smooth, and I found their grits coarse. We also ordered a side of Elote, which, in my opinion, was blah. It lacked flavor and was on the dry side. We tried the Monopoly Money mocktail for drinks, which was refreshing, but I was surprised by how small the serving was. Not a good value for money. Overall, the food just didn't live up to the hype. It was not a bad meal, but I'd not rush back for it either.

    Wagyu Bone Marrow, Ricotta Dumplings
    Jane C.

Came here without a reservation and had to wait 30 min. Drinks were good. The bone marrow was under-seasoned but there was salt on the side. The pickled veggies were a nice balance with the richness of the bone marrow. The short ribs was incredibly bland and needed a lot of salt. It was on top of whipped parsnips which ruined the dish. We thought it was mashed potato's but the parsnip was slightly sweet and weird tasting. Steak frites was okay and nothing special.

Our server was incredibly knowledgeable and exactly the right amount of present (if you know what I mean). I enjoyed the maitake on rice with cashew cream and it was delicious. The salty mushrooms were mellowed by the chewy rice. The cashew cream gave a nice variation in texture. I didn't leave a morsel behind. The harissa carrots were nice as well. They are cooked soft and have a moderate spice level that is again contrasted by the mild labneh and tahini base. I had to save the rolls with herb better for last. Oh. My. God. These were divine. I'm a sucker for bread of any kind but these are what the Hawaiian dinner rolls wish they could be. They are perfectly pillowy and the herb butter just elevates them. Do not miss these for more "sophisticated" fare. If I lived here, I would definitely come back. Everything was considered and well-executed. Bravo

Like many people, we were excited to dine at a restaurant led by a chef who has beaten Bobby Flay. We arrived for our 8:15 p.m. reservation and were seated promptly. Unfortunately, from that point on, the service became increasingly confusing. Our server seemed flustered from the beginning and even commented that she wanted to make sure everything was right for our experience. When ordering drinks, I asked for a root beer and was told they had one. A few minutes later I was informed they actually didn't and was given a Dr Pepper instead. No big deal--I didn't want to make an issue of it. The bigger problems started with the food service. There were three of us. Two ordered the filet, and one ordered the chicken. The first entrées brought to our table weren't ours at all and had to be taken away. When our actual meals arrived, they were still mixed up. I was served the chicken despite ordering the filet. The same thing happened with dessert. We ordered two Baked Alaskas and one Lemon Cake. Again, the desserts were delivered to the wrong people. These weren't major issues individually, but when they happen repeatedly throughout one meal, it takes away from what should have been an outstanding dining experience. Now for the positive... The kitchen absolutely delivered. The filet was cooked perfectly. The chicken was outstanding. Presentation was beautiful. The Baked Alaska was one of the best I've had. The food easily earns five stars. Unfortunately, the front-of-house experience did not. To make matters worse, after I finished the Dr Pepper that I hadn't originally ordered, my glass sat empty for roughly 45 minutes. No refill was offered, and I eventually had to ask for another beverage while dessert was being served. One final observation... The receipt included an optional surcharge for the back-of-house staff. I understand it could be removed upon request, but I don't believe guests should be placed in the position of deciding how restaurant employees are compensated. Pay your team well, price the menu accordingly, and let guests simply enjoy their meal. Urban Hill has one of the most talented kitchens I've experienced in quite some time. If the service can reach the same level as the food, this restaurant would easily deserve five stars.

Honestly the cheese course was not my favorite. It was good cheese, but I didn't think the greens paired well with it so it really was just cheese, which I found a little disappointing. However the entrees more than made up for it. The pasta especially was absolutely delicious, the braised beef cheek was cooked so perfectly it melted in my mouth. Not to mention I ended up breaking out in hives at the start of the meal (unrelated to the food) and the staff was so kind. They quickly boxed our food and even brought me some Claritin to help tide me over. The food was piping hot when they boxed it and traveled beautifully, which was a bonus for sure. For brunch, my husband had the burger with a fried egg and I had their special of the day: chilaquiles. This might have been the best chilaquiles I've had in the valley. The pork was delicious, the poached egg was actually perfect, and the chips still kept their crunch which is usually my biggest gripe. I didn't try the burger, but my husband was raving about it.
