I ate at the famous Pietro's this week, twice, and had some of the bread they served. One is baked in-house, the other, was sliced sourdough. Wow. Found out they get it at Rudy's. Well, I sought it out. Holy. The green chile-cheese filled croissant with everything was unbelievably good. The cranberry-orange scone devine. But the bread, huge and $12 was worth every penny. We were one of two people in line when we went but by the time we sat down and got out pastries the line was out the door! Seemed like a local favorite and we could definitely see why! Go for the amazing croissants. Nice golden color, flaky crust, light and airy interior with a deliciously rich and buttery flavor! The ham and cheese quiche didn't have the light and creamy texture I wanted so I'd skip those next time. The coffee is also more on the acidic side for my taste. Staff are friendly and efficient. There are many tables for dining as well as an area in the hallway you can sit at as well, however, please be aware this place gets busy. Cute art is hung all along the walls. Best dessert I've had in the Lodi area! Their Croclaire was absolutely delicious. Flakey, light, filled with a creamy vanilla custard, and topped with seasonal fruit. I enjoyed the fresh peaches, they did also have strawberry. I also enjoyed a slice of sourdough topped with cheeses and ham. I asked for it warmed and enjoyed in house. Very scrumptious. I wish I had more room to try more yummy goods. The servers were very kind and attentive. I did order a dirty chai latte that was not very good but all in all I would come again and suggest anyone to try their baked goods. 9/10 stars. read more

Wow!!! Is what I think about this bakery! I tried Ruby's Bakery for the first time based on my daughter's recommendation. I tried everything croissant and coffee. I have not had a croissant like this since I was in my twenties living in Australia 40 years ago. I used to get a croissant from this small bakery owned by a French lady. I have not run into a really crispy buttery croissant for 40 years. It almost made me cry! Their regular coffee tastes like Blue Mountain blend. It's on light side, but it's flavorful. This was our first time visiting Ruby's after months of postponing. We finally had our first visit and it was packed! The pastries looked really good and for the most part were good and well priced. The location is really small for the amount for the amount of people that go. Service wise, there was a gentleman who wasn't very when choosing pastries and if anything kind of rushed us, regardless of that action the cashier definitely had a bright and outgoing attitude, so its a mixed up opinion regarding service. For drinks, the drinks themselves didn't taste very great. Overall, i would want to try it again and hope it is a better experience since the sugar bun left us wanting more! read more

Food was good. Staff was good. I looked up places to meet a friend for coffee since I was coming from Livermore and she was coming from Sacramento. I found a place that said "dogs allowed" because I was bringing my little dog. When I walked up to the bakery there were no seats in front so I thought maybe they were in the back. I walked in to order with my dog on the leash and an employee came up to me and said no dogs allowed, then the owner came up to me and said "no dogs allowed". I tried to explain to him and show him that yelp had "dogs allowed". All he said was there's a sign that says "no pets". He could care less and didn't even want to look at yelp. I said I drove over an hour here so can I take 2 chairs outside to eat. He said "No I can't accommodate you goodbye" and walked away. I was in mid order so I finished my order, took my little (non shedding, hypo allergenic) dog to the far corner, he laid down quietly the whole time and my friend and I quickly ate breakfast and visited. When we were done the assistant manager came up to us (she was very nice) and asked if she could take our plates. We said yes thank you, then she said "ok now that you are done you need to leave cause no dogs allowed". I explained what yelp said and she was kind enough to ask to see it and apologized for the mix up and said she will make sure yelp gets corrected. I pointed out that there were 2 other dogs in bakery and she said "they are service dogs, they showed us the papers". (a business owner in California cannot legally ask for certification or proof of a service dog. They are only allowed to ask if the dog is a service animal required because of a disability and what tasks the dog has been trained to perform.) I would understand if it didn't say "dogs allowed" and I just drove there on a whim and they said no. But that was NOT the case. And for the owner to not apologize or even care to see what I saw is pretty rude and not very up on customer service. read more

Easily the BEST BAKERY EVER! I grew up with a grandma that LOVED baking, so my standards are high when it comes to sweets. Coming from Monterey/Carmel area, my husband and I have searched high and low in the central coast and even in New York and LA for the perfect bakery, and none come close to this. We discovered it while we were on the 99 trying to stop for coffee anywhere besides Starbucks and found this gem. They put Lodi on the map!! We came here every weekend for 5 weekends straight while we were making a big move up north. Best place ever. Love their almond croissants, sugar bun, chorizo croissant with the salsa, and sourdough pizza slices. OH! And they use organic unbleached flour and it's organic sourdough! read more

i love rubys and think all their food and drink options are so delicious. i also love that they're a hispanic owned business and support local artists (they have artwork for sale). the staff is friendly and service is quick. the only downside (why i gave them four stars) is because they can be a bit pricey. i can justify higher prices because they have fresh high quality products, but adding anything to the avocado toast is an additional charge and you can easily spend $20+ here on just a few things. i got a grilled cheese, chai, and croissant and my total was like $25. read more

It took me way too long to try Ruby's. A friend of mine came for a visit last year and she stopped for a snack here on the way to my house and now every time she visits she wants to go back! Ruby's is a cute little bakery in the downtown area with lots of sweet and savory options. The first thing I ever got here was a blueberry and vanilla danish and I saved the picture to add to the review because it is simply beautiful. You can tell their treats are crafted with genuine care. When I bit into it, I swear time slowed while the crunch of the sweet crispy flaky pastry reverberated in my ears. I can't remember what I had for breakfast yesterday, but I remember that moment. I regularly pay over $4 for a cheese danish at Starbucks, so at $6 for the beautifully crafted, crispier, fresher, more flavorful option I think their food is a very good value. I hate that I can't bring my dog inside and there is no outdoor seating so I have to have someone hold onto my pup while I go inside and honestly the only reason I'm not there 10 times as much. I was greeted right when I walked in and an employee gave some great recommendations as well! Highly recommend their iced vanilla latte with oat milk! I ended up getting a coffee cake slice, avocado toast with bacon and egg, and one of the strawberry eclairs. Holy f the strawberry pastry is out of this world - I have been craving one since! Cafe has a decent amount of seating but may be challenging if busy, decorated with locally made art pieces. There is a water dispenser in the corner if needed.
