Rebranded to Basil Thai, but couldn't find a page for the new name. Never thought I'd be recommending folks eat at a mall food court, but this spot took my ceiling for mall food and soared right through it. We were pursuing the mall food court after a long visit to meow wolf and deciding against the 2 hour wait at rain forest cafe. I came in expecting a thoroughly mediocre meal, but my eyes were instantly attracted to the peanut butter chicken on their menu. The dish was exactly what it sounds like, a ton of chicken and broccoli smothered in a delicious and spicy peanut butter sauce. The quality was as at the level of a stellar sit down meal, and came at food court prices. Any time I see a mall food court I'll instantly be transported to this meal and be sad I'm not currently eating it The made to order menu has a lot of interesting dishes that are far better suited to a traditional Thai restaurant than a mall food court, so I will absolutely be back here if I ever find myself at this mall again While I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and think it's a great value, I wouldn't make a trip to the mall just to eat here. Thai-inspired CHINESE-style fast-food. Their food's better than the Cajun Grill next door but that's a low bar- food's okay at best. Best item is spicy basil chicken. Mango/pineapple chicken ain't fresh but tastes alright. Avoid the noodles. AVOID the beef, shrimp or any drinks cause they're rip-offs. read more

It was my second experience and was equally content with my options. The grilled chicken was a sweet chicken that was marinated and serve without a tang. There were several chunks that I found to be too soft as if they were made of tofu. It didn't feel right in texture to me but the rest were good. It may be too sweet for most for a large portion. I wouldn't suggest double meat of this. I would at least get the pepper or mango and pair them with the fried rice. The noodles were too oily. The rice was on the drier side which goes 50/50 with patrons. Luckily the scoops of meat have enough juice/sauce to balance it. The price is fair. read more

Not Thai food. But Thai people & simply the BEST Asian food in the mall! Bourbon chicken, Mango chicken, Curry rice & the Lo Mein were my favorites! The Won Ton soup looked amazing! The only thing better than their food was the PRICE! Three of us ate for $25! And took most of it home! Unheard of. They piled the food on our plates! Wonderful people & great tasting food! The definitely did not "Curry" my favor. I never go here because they bombard/borderline harass you with samples and questions. Every time I say "I just want to look", yet I'm still getting samples shoved in my face. I mean, that's great and all but I just want to see what you have and make up my mind. I'm already at the counter, you have my business if you just chill out. I usually go somewhere else after the third "No". I'm not the only person, this literally happens every hour. Not Thai food. I repeat....NOT THAI food. It was edible. Didn't make me sick. Was not bad tasting. So hince the 2 stars. The fried rice is what I am guessing is a pre-made bulk food. No flavor....no love. I ate grilled chicken. It was fine. Seasoned lightly. I would not eat here again but am not disgruntled. They do however need to take Thai out of the name. Needed quick lunch at the mall. We were attending a conference at the Hilton and took a walk at the mall. Food was pretty good, not a lot of variety. Noodles were wheat, I was hoping for the Thai rice noodles, so we just opted for one meat selection which they allowed us to have half and half. I had half Basil Beef which was really tasty but a bit on the super spicy side for me. I also had Pepper Chicken which I liked very much, not too spicy. Not sure I would choose this again, but it wasn't bad food, just not within the perameters of my food allergy diet of carbs and gluten free. read more

So I'm not one to usually like Thai food, but this place was AMAZING. I'm so happy that my boyfriend took me here. Their food actually looks home made instead of processed. Their spring rolls are to DIE for. I loved their rice so much. It's not gross like Panda Express. When you're craving Asian food in Grapevine Mills Mall, it's ether this place or Panda Express, or Maki of Japan. I just wanted some good old orange chicken type dish and didn't really want to go to panda today, so I stopped by here instead. Don't make the same mistake unless you're the only person they're serving. There was 5-6 people in line and I was the third. I asked for wonton noodles and and a cup of water then paid the amount for the soup bc that's all she charged me. I stepped aside to wait for the noodles which took about 5 minutes. Then I asked her for my water and she just looked at me and didn't say anything. I repeated the same thing to the male worker and he kind of smirked and just pointed at her. Like do you people not have water or something? The least you could do was respond to me. After waiting there for another 3-4 minutes I just left. Oh and another thing, if you need another bowl(an empty one) to transfer leftovers to bring home it'll cost you $0.75. As for the food, don't let looks fool you, their mango chicken isn't that great. Their wonton is probably the only reason for even a one star. Overall, poor service and food. I should've gone to Panda instead. read more

Stay away from this place. Be careful when you pay. I ordered 2 items and 2 egg rolls which is supposed to be $6.99 + $1.29 + tax ( 0.825 %) . It should be around $8.963 something. I saw the cashier entered $7.99. So I told him to fix it. But he didn't want to fix. Finally, he charged $10.05 on my food. It is just $1 different . But I don't like how he was being dishonest in doing business. I never go back here. read more

Giving a three star based on the other food court options. This is not real Thai food, but has the best tasting of the restaurants around it. If rating against actual Thai food I would give it a 1. So if your in the mall go ahead and try it the price is not too bad, but if you can wait and eat elsewhere do. read more

The give very generous amounts..! Very delicious.! They do ambush you with samples but come on people grow pair a balls, put on your big girl panties & say, "no thank you...." if you don't want to buy anything... which you might regret considering the price, size of food piled on your tray & overall value.! I would give this less than one star if I could. My 11 year old sister was pulled in by people forcing three different samples on her. Next thing she knew she had a whole meal ordered. The food is low quality. The rice (both white and fried) were dry and flavorless. Would not recommend. Avoiding walking by here again. read more

I Was so looking forward to having a noodle bowl here. As we waited for our meal, we were shocked to see a large roach crawl across the counter, up the soda machine and then inside it. When we brought it to the attention to the workers and then the manager, informing them we did not want the meal and wanted a refund, he argued with us. Refusing at first to refund our money. After we argued with him my husband had to finally approach and deal with him. We still only received a partial refund. read more

This is so far the WORST Ruby Thai Kitchen I have ever eaten! We had eaten at almost every Ruby Thai there is from Boston to Texas and so far this is BAD! The fried rice is tasteless! The mango chicken does not even taste like mango chicken! It seems like they just battered the chicken and poured some cheap duck sauce over it! The barbecue chicken taste like paper! I do not know how they maintain the franchise with this poor quality! No wonder the Maki of Japan across it does a lot better! If i could rate this without any star, I would have!
