Okay, this review is based on takeout only, and usually Thai takeout is a hit or miss, especially when trying a new place for the first time and this place was a hit. The vegetable egg rolls were so good. The sesame tofu was good, but this can be skipped. The tofu pad Thai with spice level 3 was on the spicy side, but it had that sweet and sour pad Thai taste as well, I suggest going down a spice level and adding chilli sauce. I had the shrimp and my buddy had chicken. Heat level is 1-5, and a crazy heat level they call extreme is HOT! I only had level 1 for my Tom Kah soup. It was incredibly delicious and not too hot at all! I had level 3 for my Pad Thai and it was amazing. The heat was very tolerable. The chicken Satee was tender and lightly breaded. You may not be able to tell by me selecting Pad Thai instead of a big bowl of Tom Kha or Panang Curry, but I am in fact a Thai food connoisseur. Every culture has a food they are known for, and for Thai food, that dish is Pad Thai. I believe if you can't get the most basic of cultural foods correct, then you certainly can't get the lesser-known, true cultural dishes right. With that said, Sabai Thai has PERFECTED Pad Thai. In fact, I'd go as far to say it is likely the best Pad Thai I've ever eaten, and I can't wait to try some of their other dishes. We got the pad Thai, pad see ew, Nam Khao, mama noodle soup, papaya salad. Everything was really good and I especially like that you can customize the spice level for each dish. The only dish I would pass on was the mama noodle soup. The noodles were overcooked and I felt like the dish was just okay. Also, be prepared to potentially wait. It took a while for our first dish to come out and each dish after that. I personally don't mind, but if you're stopping by and hoping for quick service, this might not be the right place for you. Our first time trying Sabai Sabai and we were very happy. We were warmly greeted by Eddie who graciously explained some of the dishes we ordered and answered our questions and requests. We ordered a variety of dishes and all were fresh and tasty. The dining area was clean and neatly organized. We left feeling like we didn't eat a bunch of oily food but rather, you can tell the food was prepared with healthier mindset. I really wish this place was closer to me. Another great local business that has the nicest owners. We came in on a frigid day and I wanted something warm and saw their curry noodle soup (C1) and knew I had to get it. It reminded me a lot of laksa with lots of fresh mint, bean spouts and flavor. I was absolutely stuffed after demolishing my entire bowl. My boyfriend ended up with the Tom Khem (L3-braised pork riblettes and egg with rice) and it was also just delicious. Everything was umami and rich and flavorful. The pineapple chunks in the fried rice were a little too big but that's just my personal taste. It was still delectable. The basil wings come with sautéed peppers and onions with the most mouthwatering sauce. I thought the chicken satay would be dry and bland but it was quite juicy and tasty. We are rarely in the area but have heard great things about this place especially how authentic the food is. I will not be going back. The new owners are either cutting corners or don't know how to cook. Ordered and paid for Lao sausages and Nam kham. Then was told they are out even though I already paid for it and even worse, the Nam kham had no Nam in it which is the flavor of the dish. They instead used ham regular old ham instead of Nam.
