Recently two of my friends treated me to a birthday lunch. The hostess seated us promptly and we told her we were waiting for another guest. The waitress suggested we get our drink orders while we were waiting. I ordered a cup of hot tea and my friend just asked for water. My tea arrived. I was surprised to see an ice tea spoon lying across the saucer. It was awkward stirring the tea without splashing. My other friend arrived fifteen minutes later. The waitress took our orders. The manager stopped at the table and introduced herself to us. When the food arrived it was a just warm and the mashed potatoes were soupy. My friend ordered a well done steak. Her tiny steak oozes blood when she sliced a piece. She tried to eat the slice but could not put it into her mouth. We got the waitress and told her what the problem was. She grabbed a plate from the salad bar, scraped the steak onto it leaving the slice on the plate with the vegetables. Manners called for my other friend and I to wait until we all had our full orders. We waited 15 minutes for the steak to make it back to the table. When my friend sliced a think piece, it was apparent that the steak was not reheated. Once again the waitress got a plate from the salad bar and took the remaining whole piece of steak back to the kitchen. Because I had an appointment and could not wait much longer to eat and my friends decided to eat their food before it got any colder. The poor steak was sent back twice. By now, the steak was about 1 1/2 inches big. Since we had finished our meals, when the waitress briought the steak to the table for the third time,she asked if the customer wanted a box to take her 1 1/2 inch steak home. In short, my complaints: 1. While we were waiting, we observed how dirty the woodwork was and how dingy the restaurant and atmosphere is. 2. Who trains the servers? They should teach them the correct utensils that go with beverages. ie. the difference between a teaspoon and an Ice tea spoon. 3. The waitress should have taken the whole plate back to the kitchen to keep the vegetables warm while the steak was grilled again. 4. I was not asked if I wanted a refill of my tea, when the others were offered more water. 5. Most importantly my friend should have had her meal comped!!!! 6. This took 2 hours This is not the first negative experience I had had at THIS Ruby Tuesday, but it is the last! I have asked a number of friends in the women's club and they had similar experience. Most related to the cleanliness and unappetizing food. I don't think this place has been renovated since it opened. read more

We wrote off this restaurant ( Lexington, Va) years ago because of terrible service and filthy dining room. We were in the area a few weeks ago and based on good experience with other Ruby Tuesday restaurants,we decided to give them another try to see if management had improved. We were there for early lunch so it wasn't crowded. We were seated immediately and had a sweet waitress but that's only reason I even gave this one star. The salad bar had several common items that looked way past their throw away dates and the dining room was still filthy. The only thing that was clean was the table itself and ironically the floor. An inch of dust on lampshades and blinds, what looked like years of grimy handprints on backs of chairs ( they were black!) Made me wonder about safety of the kitchen when the dining room was that dirty. Don't even want to think about the state of the bathrooms-- I couldn't even look. Lost my appetite after seeing this. Meal itself was ok but wondered if I was going to get sick from eating there. Look folks, not sure why this restaurant can't seem to get it together and CLEAN! Been to lots of Ruby Tuesday restaurants and this is THE worst. Will not be going back to this location. Ever. If I owned Ruby Tuesday's, I would shut this one down. read more

This may be our last visit to this restaurant. We keep thinking it will improve, it only gets worse. Our 10 minute wait turned into 30 (we should have left right then) with the hostess oblivious to how long we had been there. The salad bar had only spinach and mixed greens, with black slimy stuff on it, no Romaine, no Iceberg. The bar was messy and short on toppings. My husband ordered soup, and he sat and watched me eat all of my salad with no soup. He had to flag down the waitress for it and her reply was "I put it all in at once so it would all come out at once" (?) He shouldn't have bothered, the soup tasted like watered down spaghetti sauce. We live near this place and years ago it was well managed and so much better. This is not the first bad experience here, there was actually a far worse episode, (2 hours for a meal) and we stayed away for almost a year. The moral is even if you have a BOGO coupon where you get one meal free, it is NOT worth it. read more

Tonight's experience was the worst of all the bad experiences at this restaurant. It started as we approached the salad bar and witnessed two waitresses in a heated argument. The salad bar was without plates. A waitress stated she was going to get some. She returned empty handed because she "forgot what she went to do." Upon receiving a plate, there were few options for a salad. No cucumbers and ranch dressing is not an option at this point. We return to our table to have the wrong drink order. A member in our party asked a question about her food and the waitress attempted to argue that she had not ordered that entree. The waitress finally had an ahh haa moment and apologized realizing we actually knew what we ordered. 40 minutes later we ask how much longer our entrees are going to be before they are served. A waitress (not ours) informed us she would check but there was a backup of 25 tickets in the kitchen. 10 minutes later our waitress walks by, again, we ask, "How much longer will our food be before it's ready?" Our waitress (who happens to be the same one that was in the altercation at the start of our experience) replied, "Why are you yelling at me?" as she shook her head attempting to be intimidating. No one yelled at her by no means. We left without another word. This is by far one of the poorest excuses for dining and customer service I have ever experienced. read more

Honestly the only positive about this experience was the soda. The menus were dirty - two pages of mine were stuck together so badly that unsticking them tore a hole in one of the pages. The new queso was terrible; tasted like burned velveeta with a few peppers and was barely warm. Our food presentation was terrible; didn't even look appetizing - no garnish, no attempt to make the food look good, it was just slopped onto the plate. My peppercorn sirloin was ordered medium and was medium rare instead - not a huge problem but tbh there were bites that were probably rare. Definitely wasn't cooked evenly; a couple inches on one side were cooked ok, and the center was actually more done than the opposite end. Burger was ok. Fries were barely warm. Service was mediocre at best; we were completely out of sodas and water before having to ask for refills (two of us at table, not busy in store). For what we got vs what we paid, I sincerely wished we'd just gone to JJ's Meat Shak in Buena Vista! Food would've probably been better but at the very least the cost would've been less. read more

no. no. no. I went here because I was craving cheese fries with bacon and ranch. They managed to mess it up, royally. I wanted to be sick. The restaurant is gross. It smells unpleasant and looks unpleasant. The table cloths are not cloth. It's just dirty. I didn't even want to eat the main course (a burger), I simply wanted to get the check and leave. Not to mention, it is way overpriced. The burger I get at cookout is 20 times better than whatever Ruby Tuesday's fed me. Please do yourself a service and go spend the money elsewhere. read more

My husband and I stopped here around 1:30 for lunch. I love the salad bar at Ruby Tuesday, and decided to stop here for lunch. We walked in, and was immediately told it would be a 15-20 minute wait. We were the only ones in the lobby, and empty tables were everywhere. The hostess informed us that the kitchen got backed up with a large party, so it would take 15-20 minutes before our order could be placed. We were ok with that, and asked if we could be seated to get drinks and a salad. Informed by the hostess that she wasn't allowed to seat anyone because the kitchen was backed up. Unreal, won't be back, and will inform my husbands coworkers who frequent this area not to eat here. Get your stuff together. read more

Went here after a funeral service. Reservations made hours in advance. Arrived 15 minutes early and the hostess gave me a hard time about coming early. One table was full with customers in the whole restaurant. Meaning, 95% of the restaurant was empty at around 1:30 on a Wednesday afternoon. The hostess would not seat us until the full table was done paying so "they could borrow that table." There were approx 15 empty tables in the restaurant and they couldn't grab an extra table for a party of 20? The staff needs to learn to count and be more courteous but what should I expect? As far as the food goes, I had the bourbon barbecue chicken, the sauce tasted like robotussin. I should have read the reviews. read more

We went to Ruby Tuesday's because we had a coupon. It was one of the worst meals I have had in a very long time. The crab cakes tasted like shoes and the steamed broccoli was disgusting. I have never had broccoli with that texture before....Because of its poor quality, the food was overpriced even with the coupon. We won't be returning. read more

We ate here when stopping for the night in Lexington. I got a chunk of salt in the biscuit thing they give you instead of bread. The waitress was asked numerous times for a booster seat for pur daughter but was too busy with the table next to us to ever bring one. The kids chicken fingers could have been cooked more. We will definitely try somewhere else next time we're in town. read more

On past visits to this Ruby Tuesday we have had good meals, reasonably priced, and they came with a very nice, salad bar that was kept well stocked with a variety of salads. However, the last three visits have had iffy service, and the salad bar has declined to just a so-so amount of choices, some of which are empty bowls. Unfortunately we took some out of town guest there last week as they wanted a salad bar. The waiter and the kitchen staff were at their worst for service that night. We had to ask for everything. No silverware, no napkins, they forgot half of the drinks ordered, such as a glass of water and coffee, the berry sangria we ordered was not served, but an apple one was brought out, very disappointing. The cup of coffee was requested 5 times, and didn't arrive until our guest went to speak to the manager. The complimentary cheese biscuits didn't come until half way through our meal. While we were getting our salads, the waiter removed our appetizer, though only half eaten! Trying to get any service only got more disappointment. The meals finally arrived, but our moods were less than good at the time making it difficult to enjoy any of it. I just got a box and took most of mine home. So embarrassing for us to take first time visitors to Lexington out to eat and have such a horrible experience. Our guest was more than upset with the place! read more
