When I tried to explain that I wanted them shaped and a bit thinner, she didn't seem to listen/care. This place offers fairly decent service however they are highly unreliable. I purchased a Groupon deal that allows for two facials. It was a package deal. The second time I came I tried to use the Groupon. they told me "oh, can you just pay cash or you only use the Groupon one time". She try to discourage me from using services that were paid for. I called on a Monday to make an appointment. I was told the salon would not be open on Thursday because it's the Fourth of July and we set a time for Friday at 2 o'clock. Well, I'm here and the place is dark as an alley on Canal Street in New Orleans after 3am. When I called to ask what happened she said they attempted to call me to say they would not be open today. DO NOT GO HERE. Last time I went they made one of my eyebrows shorter than the other, so I told them this time to make sure they didn't do that again. She said ok, but made one ridiculously shorter than the other, leaving a weird thin tail. She was on the phone the entire time and didn't seem focused as she was threading my brows. Do not go here!! I went here to get my eyebrows threaded right when they opened. I informed the lady ( can't remember her name but she is a light speaker ) that i wanted a LIGHT clean up and for my eyebrows to remain thick and she said okay. Once she finished one brow i noticed that she did the complete opposite to where my eyebrow was thin. At that moment i should've left but i emphasized the light clean up to her and showed her what NOT to remove and again she did the opposite and all she could said was " okay" and "sorry" . I have been here multiple times and had varied results. This time was the worst result I've had. I went to get my eyebrows waxed as normal but the woman waxed the bottom half of my right brow off. She didn't brush my eyebrows out before hand to see the shape of them, she just sat me down and went straight in with the wax. I then saw the end result and said she had missed a few hairs on the top, to which she sighed and rolled her eyes, as she had to continue her service. After she was finished she decided to rub a cream of some sort on my face without asking or cleaning her hands prior. This was the worst service I have ever received and the shop is getting more unhygienic every time I go. Funnily enough, I would not recommend anyone to go here, unless they want to sit in a mouldy chair, not have a consultation about what they want and then to have their eyebrows taken off. read more

There are two locations for this place so make sure you are booking/going to the right place. The south 14th street hours can be very unpredictable, so make sure you call before going. When you get there, they have the door locked so you may have to call them or wait until someone sees you outside. At the south 14 location, the appointment times are flexible so you may have to wait a bit. That being said, they are the cheapest option for waxing in the city and are pretty efficient in there. They can be a bit rough, but I guess that's the trade off. Some of the waxing estheticians are more gentle than others so it depends who you get but it's not as smooth as a bigger establishment like European Wax. They do a good job on eyebrows and have a deal where you can get a free one after 10. They are cash only so you have to make sure you bring cash or you will have to go to the ATM which is around the corner at a Chicken fast food joint. read more

Come here to get my eyebrows threaded and I'm pretty satisfied. The service is good and the girl (I'm not sure her name) who does them knows what she's doing. For some reason people have a tendency to cut off the ends of my brows or make them super thin, but not here. Somehow, I leave with my eyebrows thicker, but still more shapely than they were when I came in. It doesn't seem to be a one size fits all service. She understands my eyebrows and does her magic. I haven't tried any of their other services, but I may give it a shot eventually. My reasons for the 4 star are: It's cash only. They said it's because of COVID, but I thought most places are card only for that very reason. Anyway, it's okay just kind of inconvenient since I don't typically carry cash on hand. Also although it looks pretty good the first week, my eyebrows end up growing back pretty fast. And it's a bit on the pricier end for eyebrow threading ($10). It's not an excessive price, but I've just had my eyebrows done cheaper elsewhere and be just as good. read more

Terrible service. It was my first time and specifically prior to going there I had inquired about their prices. The lady on the phone gave me cash prices for Chin and upper lip. Once I get there their prices changed and when I asked why are they increased she blamed it on the 'other store'. When In fact I had called this specific store. Lady was really nice but I don't recommend getting waxed here. It took 40 minutes which it never has before for me and it also was the most painful experience ever. I tried giving myself a Brazilian wax before and this experience was much more painful. I was cringing and super squeamish the entire time and started tearing up from the pain. The lady said it was painful because I waited too long in between waxes but for this to be more painful than my FIRST WAX EVER makes no sense lol. She was super timid when pulling the wax off which basically means she's repeatedly tugging at wax stuck to my area (yikes) was also pulling it off in the direction my hair grows in which even I know from googling that is not how you should be pulling it. I brought my roommate with me and it was her first time ever getting waxed so I told her and the lady I didn't want her first time to be at this salon since it hurt so much compared to anywhere else I've been and the lady tried to talk my roommate into getting a wax anyway? I guess this is partially my fault for trying a new place I found on Groupon but it said she was a licensed aesthetician which is hard for me to believe after my experience today. read more

Appointment was set for 4 was not seen until 430. Usually at wax places I have gone to they clean the area with a wipe before they start and then powder. She only put powder down. There was not an option for hard wax just soft wax was used. She didn't wax in the direction of the hair growth. She was just waxing felt like she didn't know what she was doing. Wax was left behind and so was hair. For how painful it was all the hair should have been pulled up. I sweat a-lot when I get waxed she had an ac in the room but that or a tan wasn't on. She waxed over my clitoris doesnt even have hair so shouldn't be waxed.My vagina was left with hair, swollen, and irritated. You get what you pay for they say so that's why it's 25. read more

Horrible experience!!! I was lead into a tiny and poor looking room. It has some cheap plastic bowels and a small sink. When she enter the room suddenly filled up with a strong smell of (probably indian) food. When I asked her for a pillow to place under my head, she looked all over until she found something under the bed. (later I realized how dirty it was!). The session included facial massage using unknown creams. After about 45 minutes she told me to go and was my face in the sink(!). She handed me a dirty and stained towel! Claimed to offer a student discount, but when I showed my student ID she did not offer one. Price up from $7 to $10 to now $13! I also was just unhappy with the shape she provided and the way that she treated me. By the time she asked if it was to my liking she had already changed the shape of my brows significantly enough that any more threading would have made it worse. Further, she made me essentially wipe my mascara off under my eyes with the "pull your lid down" approach. Did not offer any hand sanitizer or a sink before asking me to touch my eyelids. Trying to be nice here but I think it's kind of important I need to warn the fellow customers who want to get a Brazilian was from here. The wax they have is kind of weird and I doubt the quality of it. Never have I ever had a wax they create so much pain and very very sticky!! I simply couldn't walk after I got my tender area got waxed because the part is all stocked together. And also I cleaned the tender area couple times afterward I still could feel it. Never had this kind of experience with Brazilian wax, I'm seriously concerned with the quality of the wax here. And the person who gave me Brazilian wax didn't have much skills. The standard procedure of pain reducing while giving the wax involves gentle pressing after a rush strip and also some aloe Vera for soothing the irritated skin but she did nothing of such. Really trying to be nice here but for others' health concern I really don't recommend anyone come to this place for a Brazilian wax. read more

So I just moved to Philly and I decided to choose threading as my eyebrow-maintenance go-to, but it was so hard to find a good place in Philly. I would literally take buses and the train to get to new people to try them out, and I was always so disappointed cause they always, always messed up my arch, like I get it, it's naturally screwed up, but you're supposed to make it look LESSA screwed up right? Wrong. Anyways, Rubyz, that's it. Literally went there once, and now I refuse to let anybody else touch my eyebrows except the one wonderful lady at Rubyz who did it the first time. I've had someone else from the store do it once, just didn't feel as good as my wonderful lady, and yes I am biased cause she's the one person that had made me want to keep my eyebrows as they were instead of applying hair oil for quick regrowth of the hairs. They're all so nice, at least the ones I've come across, the prices are affordable, in comparison to other Philly places!, and the service is quick, and their all wonderful at what they do cause I literally always see people leave their store satisfied anytime I'm there. They're super nice people I was always treated very nicely. I tried getting longwear eyelash clusters put in twice. The first, the owners daughter said they should last for 5 to 10 days, the corners didn't stick up for a few days they came off in 5 which was fine I showered put on lotion and slept on them every day. Second time I tried, she said they could last for weeks. They lasted less than 24 hours where a quarter of the inner eye lash was coming off on both eyes, only one corner is still fully attached after a shower and 36 hours. I didn't put on makeup or shower, put on lotion for 24 hours after getting them done. I was foolish to spend $20 on getting them done. I wanted them to last till my birthday so I took extra care of them. read more
