There were definitely positives and a few slight negatives from this order. The Kashmiri naan was delightful, while the garlic naan was underwhelming, and the quantity was skimpy for the price. While not unenjoyable, the navratan karma tasted more like a dessert instead of an entree, which was strange. The rose lassi tasted like soap, and was not good, and while the pakora are huge, the order consisted of only two. Again, making the price for quantity unfair. I ordered extra chutney for $2.00, and was disappointed when only two containers arrived. I haven't gotten to the vegetable jalfrezi yet, but I'm sure it's fine. The delivery driver was employed by grubhub, and did not follow my instructions to knock and hand me the food, as I am disabled. (I'm grieving the loss of the love of my life), and I unwittingly took this out on the person who answered the phone at the restaurant. Though repetitive and not paying attention to the reason for my complaint, he was tolerant and gracious about my rude behavior, for which I am sorry and embarrassed. We originally were ordering here only when our fave place was closed, but we have recently found ourselves ordering from Aroma more and more often. The food is consistent and they have some offerings that other local places do not have, like the chicken 65. My current obsession is the chilly chicken (medium-it is quite spicy) and samosa chaat. Avg Indian food that lacks spice and flavor. Prob catered to the mainstream palette than Indian tastes. Ordered the lunch special with paneer tikka masala and palak paneer. It comes with naan, Raita, rice and a little bite of gulab jambu. Portions were great for a $15 price point and everything was individually packed. All the oil/sauce leaked out of my delivery from the paneer tikka and made a mess in the bag. Gobi Manchurian was not good at all - gloopy, sweet, artificial red color sauce with soggy cauliflower. About once a year I'll find myself dining in an Indian restaurant. Not because I'm on the fence about liking it or not. Moreso because there aren't any where I live. I was leaving an appointment when I started searching restaurants along my way home when I came across Aroma and it's positive reviews. After looking over their menu, I walked in to place an order. Chicken Biryani, Butter Chicken, and Garlic Naan. The meal was made by a magician... It literally was cooked, packaged nicely, and handed to me in less than ten minutes. While I didn't dine in, this small restaurant is nicely decorated and tables set nicely, minus drink glasses until the customers are seated. My meal was great, seasoned as asked, and plenty left over for the next day. I'm looking forward to my next meal there already. read more

Not sure if I just came on a bad night, but my experience here was subpar. Service, while firendly, was just ok. Three of us came for dinner, only received two place settings/glasses/silverware. We had to grab another from a nearby table. Our gobi manchurian appetizer was definitely tasty. Our entrees and garlic naan however were absent of any flavor or spice. I had the chicken saagwala and my friends each had the chicken tikka masala. All three were BLAND; and I had a few pieces of rubbery chicken that was a complete turnoff. Waited a LONG time to be seated and was given a pitcher of warm water (I.e., no ice). My main course (chilli chicken) came out about one minute after my appetizer (aloo tiki chaat), which drives me nuts. I ordered a can of Diet Coke to offset the warm water but they were unable to give me a second can since they had no more cold Diet Cokes (??!!). Came in on a weekend late afternoon on a whim. I love Indian food and the bountiful flavors that come with it. I loved my trip to India, so I was looking forward to this meal. The two samosas ($5) we enjoyed as appetizers were tasty as were the small sauces that came with it. We just ordered two basic Indian dishes - the butter chicken and tikka chicken. Both dishes came with basmati rice. I will say for $15 each, I was expecting slightly larger portions, but it was delicious. The $2.99 naan was also very good, fluffy and nice and warm. I was a little surprised that this was the first time I think that I ever dined at an Indian restaurant and there wasn't a bunch of side condiments offered as toppings. No raita, no chutney, no nothing. I asked for a little dish of raita to top my dish with and was told NO. I mean jeez, I would've paid for it. The other thing.... the smoke alarm battery was giving out the annoying loud beep endlessly, a sign that the battery needs to be replaced. It should be a quick fix for the staff to replace the battery and certainly would enhance the dining experience. We dined in a day ago and the first thing I noticed was how small it was inside. It appeared to be set up to be covid safe with tables marked where to sit. Employees wore masks and anyone coming and going. The problem wasn't so much the food, but all the online and carry out orders hover over you while you eat. They must have had 25-30 orders at least to give out. They were giving people an hour notice. Most people went out and waited in their cars. A few just kind of stood there. It was definitely hands down not ok to dine in, but we had most of our food finished when it reached that point of 'not ok'. If you do grub hub, there's a good chance it'll be an hour at least. The spice level, tenderness of the meat, and combination of flavors has been fantastic. I'm no expert but this food beats the pants off of some other Indian restaurants I've ordered from. Ordered the same tonight and they taste and look like completely different dishes. Chilly chicken was dry and very spicy even though we selected mild. The butter chicken looks bright red like tomato sauce and so spicy I can't feel my tongue. My definition of mild must be very different. Had a groupon. Tricky to use it. Needed to be booked in advance. One night we called in at 5 pm them told us we needed to do it 24 hours, this week, same thing and we got in with just a bit of notice. Food was good. Service was ok- didn't like that entree came out before we finished appetizers, didn't like that someone came in for pickup without a mask, and they didn't say ANYTHING. Not cool dudes.. not crazy another guy came in and wanted to use his Groupon but couldn't because they wouldn't let him eat in... not good! Little turned off by eating out of plastic containers with plastic forks and knives and thinking without a Groupon this meal would warrant a half of a rock (50 bucks). It wouldn't be worth that. Would consider going back in future with the Groupon, which in effect seemed less like a "coupon" but more like a justification to make pricing fair and reasonable. I really wanted Indian food one day and decided to try this place. We went around noon for lunch on Thursday. At first, it was only us but it did get more busy. Service was okay. It was only one guy, but even with just us, we had to flagged him down for water and to get our orders. Then when it was busier with phone calls and people, we really had a hard time getting his attention to even pay. Lunch is a pretty busy time so extra help should have been there. The food itself is good. We got the lunch special and got a good amount of food!! They gave more nan than I thought! I had leftovers! This used to be my favorite place for Indian cuisine but due to a recent order I do not think I can recommend this place any longer... ordered the chicken tikka masalla and a lamb dish... the portion sizes were abysmal, not what they normally are. The chicken had 6 pieces of chicken there, I feel like I basically paid $16 for a bowl of sauce. The lamb dish had 4 pieces of lamb in it... for $20?!?! not sure what happened there tonight, if they ran out of food or the chef was trying to save money. I did call and complain and all I got was a "sorry, we'll let the chef know"... no offer to make it right... it's unfortunate incidents like this can make a business lose a customer for life... read more
