This is a smash burger franchaised restaurant, with 12 locations. The first store started in 2016 in Toronto. I've been to several of these restaurants and the food has always been excellent, especially with the smash burger with crispy edges, using a special technique. They will also customize their fries with no salt if you request it. Tattooed means adding bacon for +$2.99. We came on 2026-06-17 because they have a special of two "The Rudy" ($8.99) for $10, because they were celebrating their 10th anniversary. It was quite busy. We ordered the following: 1. Thin Cut Fries ($4.99). 2. The Rudy (4 for $20). We lived then so much, we ordered another: 3. The Rudy (2 for $10). Even though they were busy, it only took 15 mins to get our first order. Our first order was #188 at 19:00. At 19:25, our second order was #209, so they had 21 orders in 26 mins! This order took 18 mins. There are four tables and counter seating indoors, and three small tables outdoors. Every indoor tables has the following condiments: ketchup, vinegar, salt, and pepper. There is free WiFi. The restaurant is not wheelchair accessible. There are separate male/female washrooms downstairs, hence they are not wheelchair accessible. There is paid and free neighbourhood street parking. Have not returned to Rudy after I had burnt patty burger from their OG location many years ago. Changed my mind and revisited for National cheese burger day $5 burger deal and was not disappointed. My smash burger was properly done. Was surprised that staff actually served my burger to the table and them manager came to the table to make sure everything was okay. I have been spending more time along the Danforth as of late, mainly doing curbside pickup and takeout. As I was driving away with good lunch eats from Our Spot a couple of weeks ago, I looked over and saw Rudy. I have had Rudy on my bookmark list for a while. I had no idea that there was a location on the Danforth. I made a note of it and dropped by two Saturday afternoons ago. I ordered through Ritual. I got the following items: - Rudy cheeseburger - Poutine - Strawberry milkshake I ended up running a bit later than the expected pickup time. I couldn't find a parking spot on the Danforth. I ended up parking a street north and parallel to it. I then spent a few moments looking at Greenwood subway station, which is convenient if you are hoping on and off with your takeout. I love the green RUDY lettering on the store. I have been told that each Rudy location has a different colour scheme. This one is green. I walked in. There was one woman waiting for her food. I walked up to the counter after having snapped a few photos inside like the tourist that I am in my own hometown. The woman at the counter was so friendly. I mentioned my name and that I had a Ritual order. She had a bag ready for me. She was looking for my milkshake next. She fetched it from the fridge. I love that she made sure that it was cold while waiting for me to drop by. It was such a nice touch! I thanked her. She wished me a great day. I reciprocated and walked out with my food. I ate in my car. Parking on this side street is for an hour. I still don't know the name of this street. Google Maps does not want to reveal what the street name is for some reason. Weird. I may need to pull it up on my old Garmin GPS at this rate. A man living in his house across from where I had parked was getting some exercise. He must have been in his eighties and didn't mind seeing me devour my lunch. I accidentally knocked over my strawberry milkshake onto the passenger seat. I am klutzy, but am not consistent! Only two drops trickled onto it. Luckily, the upholstery has been treated, so any liquid just wipes off. I was relieved. It also shows how thick and cold the milkshake was. My strawberry milkshake was awesome. It was creamy and tasted fresh. It only came in one size. I wish that it had a larger version. I'd inhale that, too. The Rudy cheeseburger was awesome! There were crispy edges around the patty. Yet, it was flavourful and juicy. I loved the curly lettuce. The cheese was melty. The tomato slice was so fresh, too. I got my cheeseburger tattooed, which means that I asked for bacon. It's extra. So am I. Delicious! It was a pure delight having it in this burger because pork fat always rules. The bun was soft. I was so glad that it came in a paper pouch. Otherwise, this burger would have landed on my lap as I enjoyed eating it. I wasn't sure how large the Rudy cheeseburger or the poutine would be. Now that I know, I would order the Rude Dude (double Rudy cheeseburger) next time. It's important to set goals in life. The poutine. I have heard rave reviews about it. Montrealers feel at home eating it. They can't be wrong. They aren't. The poutine is excellent. It's the perfect combination of creamy, crispy fries, flavourful gravy, and huge cheese curds. I tend to like more gravy than what was given to me. However, there was enough to coat most of my fries. It came in a small aluminum container, which is perfect as a side. If you want more, there's a large size. I was so happy to have finally crossed Rudy off my list of burger joints to visit. I love a good burger. I have found it here, along with a yummy milkshake and poutine. It would be great if there were one closer to Markham, but I'm perfectly fine coming down here for my burger fix and more. I saw this place on the Food Network. They person tired their Rude Dude and the Valentino The Rude Dude is a two party smash burger. It was very tasty. One of the best I have eaten in a very long time. The great thing is no frills. Lettuce, tomato, cheese and the special sauce. A very tasty burger. My spouse ordered the Valentino. She liked it but the buttermilk chicken fillet was sans the hot sauce. The wife liked it but I asked for the sauce on the side. I tasted far better with the hot sauce. The fries were decent. This place is fantastic! We had heard about it from our neighbor, out first foray was some take out poutine it was good enough to encourage a closer look. The menu is small but everything we tried was excellent. When we went back we shared a rudy burger with bacon (patty was on the small side but very fresh and tasty, super fresh bun, slightly sweet like challah) chicken sandwich which was so tender and juicy can not possibly be frozen or mass produced, served with hot sauce and ranch on the side. Say hello to your new favourite burger joint! I tried Rudy's on a cold winter day while feeling like I was down in the dumps (not a new feeling during lockdown at all as we all know). I had it delivered and when I opened my door to pick up my bag of food I was greated by the aroma of what promised to be the best fries of my life. Oh boy... I can't even begin to describe how good their thin cut fries are. Forget the other chain brand you brag about, I too was a fan until I tried Rudy's! These are some of the best fries I've had in a long time ( I could write a love poem on this alone). I devoured the fries and just when I thought it couldn't get better, I had a sip of my Strawberry Milkshake. Mama mia! I couldn't believe my luck, 2/3 things I'd tried were divine! The Milkshake was perfect, thick, sweet and fresh as can be! I could have cried at that moment, perfect fries AND perfect milkshake, then I tried the cheeseburger... oh the joy of enjoying every item on your order! Needless to say that meal was the highlight of not just my day but week. I have raved about it to anyone who'll listen, sometimes forced people to try it. This was my second time at a Rudy's location, this one happened to be in the neighborhood I grew up. I got the double cheese burger with fries. The burger was grilled really nicely, the famous Rudy sauce complimented it so well, along with the tomato, lettuce & cheese of course. The fries were okay, definitely better when hot & fresh. I ordered pick-up so the restaurant doesn't lose their profits to food delivery apps! My order was right on time. I had the single burger with cheese and bacon. A bit on the small side, but still very tasty. I also ordered poutine which was a huge disappointment. The serving size was small and the fries were soggy. Also the gravy was rather salty with not much flavour. Then again, all I could taste was salt, so who knows?! Decided to try this place after seeing such promising photos on their Instagram. We got the Rude Dude (double patty), the Valentino (chicken) and the poutine. The Rude Dude was pretty good. Juicy thin patties with cheese, tomato and lettuce. I placed my order online and picked it up on time but my lettuce was super soggy. I honestly think a crispy piece of lettuce would have made a world of a difference. The Valentino was a disappointment. The chicken was tender and juicy but was under seasoned. The sandwich has no sauce so it was a bit dry overall to eat. It's supposed to come with a little bit of slaw underneath the chicken but I think I'd get more lettuce in a Junior Chicken at Mcdonald's... Definitely would not recommend this. I would have given a higher rating had we not had the Valentino. The poutine was alright. Salty gravy with squeaky cheese curds, personally think it would have been delicious with a bit of cracked black pepper but to each their own poutine! read more

While I think there is a huge market for these types of smash burgers the biggest drawback to this place is cost. Let's be real and say that its tiny portions, I mean even a double patty and fry did not fill me up. Taste wise the burgers are not bad, tasty, a little messy, but hey it's a burger and the thin fries were well salted. What bothers me is that a small double patty cheeseburger with bacon, fries and gravy cost just over $19. I get that these burgers are now a fad in Toronto, something I am not in love with, but cost is way too high for anyone to eat there regularly. I suggest that when the "new" normal is gone Rudy will be too. The other thing that really bugged me is that the pics online and in reviews look like burgers, while mine looked like someone decided to sit on it before putting it in the bag. I mean let's have some pride in the food we prepare and sell folks, even burgers deserve some love. Last but not least, communication. We messed up with the ChowNow system in that we sent our order for ASAP instead of later in the day. When we called to say "can we get it later" we were told that the order was already on the grill and being prepared. When got there the order was not being prepared and was being put aside for later. Sure we got an apology for the mess up but that was a big issue, communication was lacking between the 4 or 5 employees in the store. We went here to get some burgers for my birthday lunch. We ordered two Rudy burgers, two fries and a gravy. A simple order that would satisfy our craving for a burger. As I walked up to the walk-up take out window I was behind a guy that was ordering four burgers and fries. I overheard him telling the girl taking the order that he wanted just ketchup on his burgers and nothing else, especially no Rudy sauce. He was saying how he had ordered previously wanting the same, a burger with just ketchup, and how they messed up his order by having the Rudy sauce on his burgers. At first I thought he was making such a big deal to the girl but I could hear her many times asking what he wanted on his burger even after he told her many times he just wanted ketchup on his burgers. So I placed my order, gave her my name and waited for my food on the sidewalk right in front of the restaurant. There were two other people come after me and ordered food. As I was waiting I noticed those people getting their food before me. So I waited a few more minutes before I went to the window and asked how much longer I'd have to wait. She looked confused as if she didn't know why I was there. I told her my name and she says "oh..." and hands me my bag of food that she had placed with some other bags of food that were I presume was food waiting for food delivery people to pick up. I asked her why she didn't call out to me earlier as soon as my food was done. She didn't say anything and just continued like she didn't do anything wrong. It's bad enough having to wait outside in -4 Celsius weather for almost 30 mins for a simple order. But no apology for not paying attention to her customers. It wasn't even busy there so there's no reason she should have forgotten me and my order !! I can see why that guy ordering before me was getting so frustrated with her. So if you walk up to their window to make an order and see a young Asian girl with glasses be cautious and make sure to tell her to let you know when your food is ready !! I don't think I'll be going back to this place. I was upset I had to wait so long for my food. Rudy's is great. Very small menu. But the quality of the food exceeded my expectations. As someone who loves In N Out, Rudy's is the Canadian equivalent in my opinion. If you're hungry I recommend the Rude dude, it's big. Moderate hunger go for the cheeseburger. The Rudy sauce makes the burger stand out, but the patties themselves are seasoned perfectly. You can also get any burger as a lettuce wrap instead of a bun. They give you so many fries that one order is enough for two people in my opinion. Honestly was the best fucking cheese burger i've had in my life. This was my 2nd time at this location. First time was right they opened and didn't feel that strongly as i do now. I got the rude dude and it was cooked to perfection. No one is doing the crispy smash burger like Rudy's right now. My partner in crime got the valentino and she loved it. I had a takeout order from Rudy with "the Rudy" burger and fries. The burger had a nice smoky grilled flavour. I liked how the bun was not too big. Unfortunately they only offer one large size (no side size) for their fries. They taste exactly like McDonald's fries (and taste very similar to them). At least half the fries were soggy and seeing as I only ate less than half I felt annoyed that I paid over $4 for them. To me any burger place without decent fries is a step down. I would go back for the burger, but definitely not for their fries. I liked how they did not have excessively takeout packaging like many restaurants and the service was very friendly and efficient.
