We had a great experience at Rue Beignet yesterday. We were passing by as visitors from Georgia and stopped here for some coffee. Naturally I had to try the Toes-to-go beignets. The beignets were delicious, freshly made and served with great care. You will not be disappointed in ordering beignets from Rue Beignet! They were much larger than I had anticipated, so I ordered one 3-piece of powdered sugar and one 3-piece of cinnamon sugar to split between myself and my husband. These came out hot and fresh after a short wait (maybe 5-10 minutes?). What I was most impressed with was the fact that they were not greasy at all. I probably could have been satisfied with eating 2, but you can't let a good beignet go to waste, so I somehow managed to eat a third. I preferred the powdered sugar, but the cinnamon sugar was a nice change. The only reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because the inside isn't super stellar if you want to stay and eat your hot beignets. There are about a dozen or so tables inside. read more

First of all I believe it was the owner standing at the front of his business that welcomed us and opened the door for us to walk in. I had not read the reviews on here before we decided to stop by before church. I was craving some good beignets and a frozen coffee (like we would always do when going around NOLA). I would consider myself to be a "beignet connoisseur" since it is only one of my favorite treats. Thought CDM was the bees knees for EVER until I tried Morning Call. Those are by far the best flavor my mouth could ask for. Frozen coffee, well CDM still beats all others hands down. Now as far as Rue Beignet, I don't think we will return. Bland beignets, with almost no flavor or taste whatsoever. Now they were hot and fresh which was awesome, perfect texture and color to the deaux, but the taste was nonexistent. My 8 year old is the only one who kept eating em, but he takes after his dad for the love of fried bread lol. The frozen coffee was most likely the worst frozen coffee drink I've ever tasted! It was pretty much whipped vanilla creamer w ice in it. It was almost fluffy and a full cup felt like it was 1/2 a cup. I don't even think there was any coffee substance in it. Both my wife and I had to go dump it out and just drink a soft drink instead. I truly feel sorry for anyone who hasn't ever eaten real beignets or frozen coffee and ends up here for their first experience. If this is what I thought beignets and coffee would taste like, it would prob end up being my first and last time all together. Sorry the last review was not for this location. My sister and i came here christmas 2021 holiday. It was a long drive and we almost drove past it. We ordered a plate of fingers, beignets, some cinnamon powdered, and 1 chocolate flavored. The best is still the classic sugar powdered beignets. We sat down watch Price is right and got to talk to a retired couple that was sitting next to us. Staff was nice and patient as we placed our order. This little spot looks pretty new, clean building and parking lot with plenty of spaces. I didn't get a chance to go inside. I waited in the car doing some work. This review is strictly on my taste experience. My honey and daughter brought back a small container with Beignet bites and 2 bags of more regular (?) size ones. The bag had a lot of grease stains. Though I think that's to be expected. We tried the bites in the car and the whole ones once we got to our Airbnb. They tasted like homemade doughnuts with powdered sugar. I really liked them. The bread part had a little bit of used oil taste, kind of like a carnival elephant ear. Except it was more bready. I was surprised that they had actually purchased different flavors. They don't remember which ones they got. Didn't matter really. Each bit tasted the same. It was pretty good. Though I don't think I would make a special trip for it. This place has seriously gone downhill. Tables are always dirty and the servers could care less about serving anyone. I placed a to-go order to be picked up at 9:40am and over 45 minutes later I'm still waiting with about 20 other people. There is no sense of urgency from the staff. What a great place and the beignets were delicious and made to order. They have different sizes which was nice. The employee was super patient since we told her we had never been there before.
