For my first consultation, I was greeted kindly by all the staff; the receptionists, the nurses, and even said Dr. Keyhani. I had read all the reviews after that first consultation, before the day of my surgical procedure here. And I do admit it made me nervous for going in, as it was too late for a cancellation. I had a surgery of 4 wisdom teeth removals altogether. During my prep for the day of the surgery, the nurses constantly checked in with me to make sure I was okay and even gave me a blanket to keep warm prior to the anesthesia kicking in (mind you-- they didn't have to do this if I was going to sleep regardless and not feel cold while being operated.) My interaction with the surgeon was short, but not once did I feel she was being rude. Once I awoke from the surgery, I was gently escorted in a wheelchair to my ride's car. The nurses had already gone to the parking lot to look for my assigned driver to facilitate my pick-up by the building. The nurses had already handed my after-care package to my driver since I was still groggy from the sedation. My package consisted of paperwork for aftercare information (what foods to eat, what to expect post-surgery, etc.), a pack of gauzes, and a hand sanitizer for gauze replacement. Overall, it was a smooth transition for me and my driver. I have been recovering smoothly so far. I was asked which pharmacy they should send my prescription to, and they did send it to the right one. However, it took a little longer for my pharmacy to receive it-- about 2 hours. There are some reviews that say the Starbucks gift card review was "peer-pressured" to them; not once did the staff mention it to me to fill it out. This is my honest review. I recommend you research into what to expect for a procedure like this; both in preparation and for post-care, and that you ask all of your questions PRIOR to the day of your surgery. That way you make the surgery a smooth procedure for all parties, including yourself. I get that medical procedures can be intimidating, but that's no excuse to come in with a defensive mood if you're anxious about the procedure. If you treat the staff with respect, you will receive that back.

Wow maybe a blessing in disguise I am seeing all these bad reviews…read more So many things I could say. First: my dentist faxed three referrals over to them. I had reached out twice to see if there was an issue receiving them as I got no follow up to schedule anything. After a a month of back and forth, I called my dentist again who swears she has sent over multiple referrals. I called the oral surgeons office again and "yes they received it." I said oh wow because I'd been waiting and were they going to contact me for an appointment? The lady said no, they were waiting for me to contact them. Huh?? How would I have known you were waiting for me to contact you? Not to mention I had called previously?! They tell me they had an opening the following morning: at 8am. I was ecstatic because I had been waiting a couple months with insurance and difficulties to be seen by an oral surgeon at this point. I showed up at 8am, maybe 7:55, went inside and filled out my paperwork. I should mention the girls at the front were very friendly as well as the MAs. I get x rays taken and got put in a room say about 8:15/8:20. The MA also took pictures of my tongue (I was there to be evaluated for a tongue tie and my severe TMJ pain). She said the doctor would be in soon. It's about 8:50 and the MA comes back in the room and mentions "sorry it shouldn't be long, the doctor was stuck in traffic." I understand things happen. But I had driven 45 minutes from where I live to be there at 8am and had now been in the room for over a half an hour not knowing what was going on. Not to mention, I had just been on the freeway to commute to the office myself, and should just mention: there was no traffic on 80E or 80W when I was driving so after my interaction with her (which I will share), I start to question if that was even true? But i understood and just continued to wait because again, i had been waiting months to get any appointment with an oral surgeon. At about 9:15 or 9:20, the doctor walks in. I could see her walk in the building from the room I was in. She almost immediately comes to my exam room (which I was appreciative of as I had been waiting over an hour). I'm in the chair and she walks through the doorway, maybe a foot or two through the door. Doesn't even come up to me, examine me, ask me any questions. Stands just inside the doorway, looks at the screen which had the photo pulled up of my tongue. She looks at it and says ok yep and walked out!!!!!!!! She didn't spend more than 10-15seconds in the room! Didn't acknowledge me, examine me, ask me any questions or ANYTHING! After she walked out, the MA came back in and said, okay would you like to go ahead and schedule surgery? I should also mention that on the phone the day prior when scheduling this appointment, the lady at the front desk said if I did in fact have a tongue tie and wanted to go ahead with the procedure, it was in-office, local anesthetic and could have it done when I was there the following morning (day of the appt). I told the MA, I'm sorry but can you please have her come back and look at my tongue?? The doctor comes back in tells me to open my mouth, she seems frustrated. But I don't think that was wrong of me to ask?? She looks quite literally for just a few seconds and said yep again. I say can you also see if I have a lip tie, she says yes, if I want that to be corrected too, to have the MA make note of it. Probably 30 seconds in the too . Gets up and leaves again. The MA asks again about scheduling surgery but tells me it is a full surgery with anesthesia?? I was confused. Remind you, the doctor had not spoken to me, explained anything, or talked with me so this was new information as the last I heard was the lady on the phone telling me it was "just a local anesthetic that could be done same day". Maybe that's because I asked to have my lip tie evaluated too? So it would now require anesthesia? I don't know because the doctor did NOT have a conversation with me or discuss anything with me like I was there to discuss!!! She barely examined me! Fast forward and insurance approval has gone through and they call me as I am able to schedule the surgery. Nice of them to reach out to me this time haha. I am just seeing these reviews online and maybe it's a blessing. Not sure I should move forward with the procedure here. And thought I should share my experience. She was over an hour late and then proceeded to not examine or have any conversation with me. I thought it was pretty unprofessional and would advise people to maybe go somewhere else if your insurance allows.

This is the first office I've walked into and been instantly at ease. The front office is big and spacious, lots of chairs and a large flat screen TV for movies for the little ones... And to be honest it doesnt "smell" like a dentist office. I know that sounds weird but there's something about that "smell" that freaks me out... No smell here. It's extremely clean and I dont feel like I'm in a dentist office. The staff is extremely nice and knowledgeable, Peter is the Best!!! The Dr. explains everything before just going to town on your mouth and charging you exorbitant amounts of money unnecessarily (as some in the past have been known to do) he and Peter come up with a plan that benefits you, your mouth and your pocketbook. I've had crowns before and the temporary crowns have always popped off waiting for the permanent. I didn't have a single issue with the temporary they put on and the permanent was shipped so much sooner than expected and they called me in for an appointment the very next day. I've also expressed an interest in getting braces to close the gaps in between my teeth that have increased in size over the years... The first opening they had for the orthodontist to see me Peter called and I was meeting her that day... We all discussed the different options, weighed the pros and cons and pricing. 2 hours later I am a proud BRACE FACE!!! I'm extremely happy and looking forward to my new smile. Gateway Dental is by far the best dentist office I've been in and will continue to be a client of for years to come as well as my 4 year old who is also very comfortable in the office. A Dentist that's good with kids equals God Send in my book.
