My 8 year old needed extractions. One of the extractions was pulling an extra tooth under the gum. Dr. Liu is such an amazing person and physician! I was referred to Dr. Liu through my Dentist, Dr. Darwin Lum. I had a tooth that had a root canal done years ago and the tooth was fractured. This apparently released bacteria into my gums and caused an infection. I met Dr. Liu for a consultation and new right away I wanted her to do the procedure. I had to have my tooth removed and the infection removed off my bone. She took great care in making sure I was comfortable the day of the surgery along with her amazing assistant! Just went here to get all 4 of my wisdom teeth extracted. The staff is amazing and Dr. Liu is as well! Dr. Liu is very knowledgeable; upfront with how the procedure was going to go and showed genuine care about my health. All office staff were all very professional and prompt. Good communication in every process from insurance billing, scheduling, the actual procedure, and after care instructions. So far I've experienced no pain and little to no swelling! I knew I needed my wisdom teeth out but I wasn't sure how to go about it. Thankfully I found Dr. Liu on Yelp! I was really nervous during the initial consultation & on the day of the procedure. I was scared that I might wake up or feel pain during the procedure. On the day of, the last thing I remember was feeling really relaxed in the chair. I had been extremely on edge when I walked into the office because I'm scared of dental work but as soon as they put the medicine in the iv I felt relaxed & I went to sleep. I woke up in my bed and within 3 hours I was up and walking, no pain whatsoever. I even got to keep my two teeth that were in tact! They're nasty looking but also really cool to have. ---0 stars actually----I'm sorry to say I have not had the same experience with the office staff as others. I was referred for possible implants on June 16th for a 2:40pm appointment on June 27th. At 8:26AM on June 24th I received this text: Hi Joyce . This is Teruko from Dr. Jennifer Liu's office. Please give us a call at 707-422-6020. I have a few things to go over with you regarding your appointment on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 . Please call back no later than 12 noon today or I will have to cancel your appointment. Thank you!! I immediately called the office and spoke with a very rude Teruko. She said she had tried several times to reach me and I was ignoring her calls. I only have one phone and had never received any contact from the office. This young woman was very flippant when I said I have the written referral from my dentist's office and my appointment shows Monday. June 27th @ 2:40PM. She said 'your appointment is Tuesday June 28th!' I had never seen Dr. Liu prior to this. What a rude awakening! I asked a simple question regarding the procedure and was assured I would have a return call from Dr. Lui that afternoon maybe even after 5PM. I never received the call. SO....if you are considering treatment by this office, I suggest you stand up straight and March to their drummer!!! When Dr. Liu came to the phone she suggested o go elsewhere for service. My son got his wisdom teeth take out yesterday and Dr Liu and her staff took great care of him. During our consultation she took the time to explain the procedure, what to expect, and answer any questions we had which made the process so much easier since we knew what to expect. Leading up to the appointment, her staff sent any necessary paperwork to be signed ahead of time to make the appointment day as easy as possible, which I appreciated. The day of the appointment, we were there for about an hour and a half and Dr Liu gave us a run down of how to change his gauze and also a pint of ice cream, which my son was excited to have! We were also given ice packs and a head band for them to keep them in place which made it easier since I was expecting to use an old school Ice pack. A staff member took the time to make sure that he was alert enough to get to the car with assistance. And later on Dr Liu called to see how he was doing, give us any tips on a smoother recovery, and also reminded us that we can call her after hours if needed. I felt they took amazing care of my son and even at the end of the procedure, while my son was still loopy, he said "they are 10/10! I give her 10 stars!" Lol As for recovery, amazingly, he has not been in pain and has minimal swelling. Thanks Dr Liu and staff for making this process as easy as possible! read more

Dr. Liu and her team were great from start to finish. I've had a tight lingual frenulum (tongue tie) since birth that was never taken care of. Dr. Liu listened to my concerns and gave me the confidence that she would make it all better and she sure did. From my initial conversation to her, to patient on boarding with her staff, to surgery day and follow up, Dr. Liu and her staff were all fantastic. Great communication, quick replies to emails, and they answered all of my questions clearly. She is a great surgeon, her incision and stitches were done excellently. I must say, I was not too enthused about having all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled and actually put it off about a year. Jennifer Liu was recommended to me from my dentist and to say the least, she and her assistant were absolutely the best. Her assistant spoke with me while I was laid back in the chair, oxygen strapped to my face and heart monitors on both arms. We had good small talk until it was time to put in the IV drip.. Dr Liu, came in got all things prepped for the extraction, asked the standard question and spoke with me to put my mind at ease. She is a conservative Dr who is meticulous in performing her job and I greatly appreciate that! I generally don't mind cleaning but certainly do not like any drilling or let alone a full on tooth removal. However, Dr Liu and her staff made it really easy from start to finish. I highly recommend utilizing her service if you want someone who is attentive, conservative and meticulous about her profession. read more

When my daughter was referred to Dr. Liu to have all 4 wisdom teeth removed she was very nervous. Until that point she had never even had a cavity. I told her we would meet the Doctor and see how she felt about her. From the initial office visit I was impressed with the kind and professional staff. The process was explained in detail, including a very informative video and a detailed discussion about what to expect before, during and after the surgery. Dr. Liu came in and really made a connection with my daughter. She was kind and you could tell that she was a true professional and a caring person. My daughter said she felt better after meeting her and her assistants. The day of the surgery my daughter was nervous and I could tell she had allot of anxiety. When the staff came and took her back the nervousness switched to me lol. The staff came out and let me know every step of the way how things were going. The surgery went very well and my daughter gave us many hours of hilarious dialog while coming off the sedation. Dr. Liu is a very good surgeon and really cares about her patients, both during and after the surgery. We had a post surgery question after hours and so I called the Doctors cell phone number. She answered right away and was so nice and helpful...what a treat! I also need to thank Dr. Toolson's office for such a great referral. My son UC Berkeley Computer Science Sophomore student did oral surgery 5/20/21 -9:00 am took out 4 wisdom teeth and we expect his pain and uncomfortable at least for 24 hours. The fact is around 4:30 PM and he stop bleeding, no swelling, start to enjoy different flavor ice creams. I was expected he will have pain during the night time and nothing happened. This morning I checked him and everything is smooth. What I learned from Dr. Liu's team, From the office manager Teruko to the medical assistant Angela, they are very warm and clear explain the procedure . Most important Dr. Liu is Top notch Oral Surgent, she explained extremely well, why need surgery, what's the best time and benefit and concern. I had put off getting my remaining three wisdom teeth for a very long time because I was afraid to be awake for the procedure but also because I had left them for too long, they were a difficult case. Dr Liu and her staff addressed all of my concerns and she even allowed me to choose a different shorter lasting anesthetic because I have difficulty with the long lasting ones. I was so surprised she let me choose, I was so thankful. Dr Liu is very straightforward and direct and I really appreciated that, there was no fluff, all business while still making me feel like I was in great hands and would be well taken care of. You can immediately understand she takes her work and her patients very seriously. It was very easy to trust her on such a short consultation, I value that so much. Surgery went amazing though I really don't remember anything after falling asleep - Sounds like a success to me, what's better than just falling asleep and not remembering anything? - I healed incredibly fast and perfectly with the care directions and ice packs they sent home with me. I didn't even need to take all of the medicine they gave me for swelling and pain, just a few days later I felt like new again. They also gave me some much appreciated ice cream which I was able to eat a few hours after the procedure, it was delicious and felt good! I recently was referred to Dr. Liu by my dentist for a wisdom tooth extraction. I have a health issue that in which I cant be anesthetized ,so it was done with just local numbing. I was very nervous going in with my blood pressure higher than I'm used to. Dr. Liu talked to me through the whole procedure calming and comforting me til the end. I'm allergic to all pain meds and expected alot of pain. There was some discomfort once the novocaine wore off but by the next day it was so much better. The receptionist Charmane is awesome. Her customer service is great, and shes very personable. When I'm speaking to her, she relates to me and answers my questions as if a friend had asked them to her. I went in today to get my wisdom teeth removed and I was extremely nervous. The assistant Frankie was so nice. She was talking to me during the time I was waiting for the procedure to start. She has a very calm demeanor that did help my nerves, and I am happy she was the one assisting. What I like most about Jennifer J. Liu is her attention to detail, and confirming information with me. She always had her attention on my myself, the monitors, and her staffs assistance to make sure I had the best procedure possible. Not to mention they gave me ice cream afterward!! From Sacramento here! Recently got all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed on 07/24 and currently 6 1/2 days post-op and I feel great! Any post-op questions I had, Dr. Liu addressed through text or phone. Dr. Liu and her team did an amazing job not only on the operation but also customer care and hospitality. It's taken me a while (2 years) to find an oral surgeon who actually seemed like they cared and were capable to take out my wisdom teeth as it was not your easy, typical extraction. Earlier in July 2020, I found Dr. Liu's office and called to schedule for a consultation which was very quick and easy. Took them about two weeks to see me as they were rolling customers in once again, but that wasn't an issue to me. They sent me an email regarding COVID-19 protocols and how they would see me when the time came, as well as a patient form that I needed to fill out before my appointment. I saw Amy first on the day of my consultation as we took my temperature, gave me some sanitizer, asked me a few additional questions. Speaking to her was almost like speaking to an old friend and we laughed a little before I went to the back to be seen. During my consultation, Jody had went through a few more health screening questions and I once again had to watch that one wisdom teeth preparation video. After that, Dr. Liu came in and was super knowledgable and helpful in addressing all my fears and concerns about my wisdom teeth removal. The office atmosphere was very intimate and I felt very safe with the staff there. Once I was finished prodding and asking all my questions, I went out to see Charmaine about scheduling and payment. My insurance did not apply here which is fine with me, so I was explained different credit and cash options. A few different options you can take here! Charmaine quickly fit me in to their schedule just about 4 days after my consultation! On the day of my surgery, they all welcomed me with smiles even though I was dying on the inside. The same procedure took place (temperate, hand sanitizer, etc.) and about 10 mins in they called me into the back. Another staff member (I can't remember her name) took my vitals, asked me if i ate, etc. and she was very calming and gave me a little blanket to cover myself. After another 10 minutes as the procedural staff was prepping, Dr. Liu came in and asked me a few questions about my morning as she was inserting my IV and I felt nothing!! I'm not the one to be scared of needles but I didn't even know she had it in at this point, I had to ask haha! Once I had my IV and everything, I started dozing off and they started. Can't recall much from the surgery, but like 2 hours or so later, I am wisdom teeth free! Dr. Liu said that my x-rays (from another office) did not fully convey all the struggles my wisdom teeth had but she took extra time and care to ensure that they were safely removed. What an hour procedure was supposed to be turned into 2:30 hours so I'm grateful I had such a caring team. Once the procedure was done, gauze filled up in my mouth, Jody asked me my favorite flavor of ice cream and gave me some delicious Talenti Vanilla ice cream. My driver came in to see me once my procedure was finished and went over a few things with Dr. Liu while I sat there wondering how 2:30 hours felt like 30 minutes to me. Charmaine (I think can't remember, might've been Amy) escorted me out to my driver's vehicle and tucked me in with my seatbelt and I was sent on my way. I'm so glad I took the plunge (and drive) to come see Dr. Liu and her staff. They are all amazing individuals whose aim is to simply take care of you as much as they can. All while being professional and understanding their role as a service while also providing personable and great social experiences. Special shout out to Amy, Charmaine, Jody, and of course Dr. Liu!! Thank you for your out-of-this-world customer service! I would come here again (and will refer my friends) if need be. I'm 25 and feared getting my wisdom teeth out for the longest time, but knew I had to bite the bullet at some point.
