We kicked things off with the mozzarella sticks and tomato bread--thanks to one friend who wouldn't stop hyping them up all night. It became the running joke of the evening... until we tried them. Turns out, they were absolutely right--both were seriously tasty. We followed it up with The Works pizza, and it did not disappoint. The crust was cooked to perfection: crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and held up beautifully under all the toppings. Definitely a spot I'll be coming back to next time I'm in the area. Tried Ruffolo's Pizza for the first time after a fun (and hot!) day at Six Flags. My cousins recommended it, and they were spot-on. We did takeout and enjoyed everything at home in the AC-- perfect way to relax after being out in the sun all day. We ordered mozzarella sticks, fried green beans, tomato bread (which was a pleasant surprise--garlicky, cheesy, and full of flavor), and a pizza (sorry forgot to take a photo) with toppings I can't quite remember, but I do remember it being really good and hitting the spot. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. I'd say a nice local spot for casual, tasty comfort food, and offers carry out. Not only is the hand tossed pizza good here but the gluten free crust pizza is a hit! Great service and the ladies know how to take care of their guests. Never had to ask for a refill on drinks. Cozy atmosphere and nice that the bar is separated by a high enough partition that doesn't make the place seem small. read more

Excellent thin crust or hand tossed pizza for pick up or eat in. Superb service, accurate time estimates. Anchovies aren't just listed as an option, they have them and the quality of cheese and other ingredients are good. No insulting scripted pseudo-friendly exchanges, they are sincerely nice and very competent. Most importantly, they are clean. I arrived early and even though late in the Pandemic all workers were masked properly and almost all customers were as well. I could see hand washing and food preparation surfaces were cleaned regularly. Workers seemed to be genuinely happy to be working, which has become rather rare. I no longer live in wisconsin, but I grew up in Pleasant Prairie. Every time I come back to this town, Ruffalo's is my number one stop. The inside of the restaurant has your classic cozy mom and Pop Italian restaurant feel. Their staff has always been exceptional, including the cooks in the takeout area, as well as the girls at the cash register. As for the food, I cannot speak highly enough about this place. Their broasted chicken dinner, and Mojos cross my mind more than it should. Their deep dish pizza, gnocchi, and spaghetti are also a few of my favorite things. read more

Ordered medium pizza and cheesesteak sandwich. Nearly 25 minutes for food. No visit from server to refresh drinks (or explain delay). Sandwich was hot; PIZZA WAS COLD 15 minutes before we could catch server to address issue. So, I come in for an order, and the sister of the manager says, last time I came in, I didn't pay for a beer, and they want to charge me now. I say no, no one came for a VERY long time to cash me out , so I left money on the bar. She says no, yes you had to wait, but you owe us for a beer, so I pay for the beer and leave, never to come back. Please do the math, even if I had not paid for the beer, (which I did), to lose a customer for a beer that you should have comped for crappy service anyway .... unbelievable. read more

My cousin and I stopped here after spending a couple of hours at the outlet mall in Pleasant Prairie. I'm from NW Chicago and she's from Milwaukee, so we met in the middle for a date. Delicious food and great customer service; this place was packed at 7:15pm on a Saturday night. Other reviews stated that the place could use a 'face-lift', but I really didn't mind the decor, or lack thereof. I thought of the place as was well-loved and clearly the food is the stand-out here. Veggie pizza was really good, but I wish the mushrooms had been the fresh variety and not canned. 'Zza had the right amount of grease and was extra cheesy. They don't skimp on the toppings at all. Mozzarella sticks were tasty, too! I've eaten A LOT of pizza since moving to Chicago, but Ruffolo's pizza is much better than the pizza in my area. Our waitresses were very attentive and super friendly. They boxed-up the remainder of our pizza for us and highly encouraged us to come back... We'll definitely be back. A good 'mom and pop' place and off the beaten path. The waitstaff made us feel as though they truly appreciated our business. A little 'roadhouse-ish'? Sure. The location could have something to do with that, too. However, what's that matter when the food is awesome and customer service is great? :) A nice alternative if you don't want mall fare and don't mind driving the extra 15 minutes to get here. Tthought we had a nice Sunday dinner, but come to find we got food poisoning ruled out to be from bad ranch dressing! Got sick after eating on the drive home and called up the restaurant. The owner didn't get back to us until Tuesday, in a defensive posture, when we were only concerned about other patrons being served this same dressing. We would not recommend eating at a closed minded establishment that is not open to helping others and serving long time customers whose voice may not be recognized over the phone. Do NOT Dine In. Only 1 waitress for all of 10 tables and the bar. Waited 20 minutes at our table before getting our order taken (no apology for waiting so long). Waited another 10 minutes before we got our 1st drink (30 minutes total from the time we sat down. Pizza was good and came about 20-25 after order was taken which is normal. When food came i asked for the check seeing it was going to take a long time after we finished. When we finished eating 20 minutes later, I had to ask for check again. Wait staff have to manually write and calculate the bill instead of using a POS which have been around since the 1990s. read more

We had the pan pizza and it was great! Service did not disappoint either. From the minute we walked in until we left everyone was super friendly and great! We will be back. The pan pizza does take a while to cook but it is worth the wait! We had breadsticks and dinner salads with the homemade Italian dressing while we waited for the pizza. A local place. which I expect has a following. It is clean, and service was excellent. This is our first try, with mixed results. My wife liked her pasta with Italian sausage, and the accompanying nice little loaf of fresh baked bread. I had an Italian beef sandwich. The meat was good, but who ever buys the bread for these sandwiches, must be from the Wonder Bread generation. It was a very soft bun, with no taste, that I would rate as cheap. I have had better bread at Subway, and never anything like this with Italian beef. I would like to go back for pizza. read more

For starters the fresh hot bread basket was no disappointment, meanwhile my lovely and talented ex wife was real busy with a salad she exclaimed was crisp and delicious. Our server treated is as of we were old friends, warm and quaint. While being here many times in the past for the love of a family atmosphere and great food at a fair price. We think the lasagna is one of the best in the Kenosha area and the burgers are so well worth passing up the tasty lasagna. Bar was packed, dinning room almost empty. Had to endure Kid Rock blasting through the sound system. When I ordered, the waitress couldn't even hear me, I had to yell my order so that she could hear it. We watched several people walk in and then walk right out because of the noise. My husband and I stopped here for dinner last night. He had been here one time before and ate a hamburger and said it was really good, so we decided to give their pizza a try. The lady who sat us was extremely nice, but unfortunately that was the best part of our visit. It took several minutes for our waitress to come take our drink order, and she got mine messed up when she returned with the drinks. For a Friday night, this place didn't seem to be too busy but it seemed to take our waitress a while to make it back to us every time. When we finally ordered, it took over 45 minutes for us to get our pizza. By this time, we were full off of the cheese curds we had ordered and just wanted to go. After eating only a couple small pieces, we asked for a box and our check. When she returned with the check 15 minutes later, we were surprised that our bill was $46. So we calculated it out, and the actual total should have only come out to $28! The lady who had sat us came over and helped us out and brought the check back to our waitress to correct. It was a night of terrible service which was really unfortunate because it seemed it could be a good place to eat. I am normally a pretty patient person when it comes to service and I think that we maybe could have just been there on an off night, but after our experience it is a place that we will not be returning too. read more

Nothing, literally nothing else matters about this place besides the food. It is a family business trying to survive in the age of chain restaurants and people not caring about quality in favor of trendy hot spots. I truly wish these people were millionaires who did this as a hobby so they didn't have to worry about updating. Bottom line, it doesn't matter that the inside is old and could use a facelift. They are currently doing renovations but it is not a nation wide company with unlimited budget. They are producing in the kitchen, and it is the best thing you will ever eat. I have eaten pizza from here to Chicago to east coast and everywhere. I can't do Ruffolo's justice with words. Crust is perfect. The cheese is right amount without being overwhelming or too salty. It isn't greasy, but definitely not bland. Pure perfection. This is one of the last greats of Kenosha, and is under patronized but I'm so thrilled to see how it is getting packed more often. Living 30 miles south of Chicago this is a little bit of a drive to eat pizza. People tell me I am crazy, but they have never eaten Ruffolos pizza - it is well worth the drive! The food & the service make this a trip worth taking.
