Sausage and Pepperoni Pizza with extra cheese on top as requested.
    Mia H.

Since my favorite pizza restaurant in Ottawa Ontario Canada closed several years ago, I have been traveling Europe, Canada and the US looking for the best pizza. Now I have found it, at Quonset Pizza in Waukegan, Illinois. Our sausage and pepperoni pizza with extra cheese was absolutely delicious. Will definitely be back again and again.

This review is for the shipping of pizzas to KY. After 6 months of eating the supreme pizzas I can say they're consistent and tasty like the ones I've been eating since the late 1970's. Thanks to Quonset for this service!

Always my must have go to spot when I come home to visit family! Even better, got to go there twice on my last visit! Best pizza ever and the bombers are amazing! Make sure you get the peppers!

Finally got to give Quonset a try! Ordered a large sausage and mushroom thin crust; it's most definitely THIN but not very crisp. Nonetheless it tasted good and the sausage was above average and notable. Also ordered their Italian beef with mozzarella and hot peppers to split (my friend insisted on the cheese which I cringed at but okay..fine). This Italian was a disappointment to say the least. It came with a side of au jus (so it was dry and not wet) and served with pepperoncini peppers on the side; it was not dipped so you had to treat it like a French dip... and what's with the pepperoncinis?? They had giardiniera listed as a pizza topping but used pepperocini peppers for the Italian beef??!! Defiantly not a Chicago move here folks. I didn't even bother to take a picture of it cause it was so ugly. Regardless, a good pizza was had.

Par baked pepperoni on top of cheese

I had heard good things about this vintage pizzeria. I was out this way and got a small parbaked pepperoni. When I finished the bake, I found it had too much cheese. Overpowering flavor and didn't pick up any sauce flavor. Pepperoni was thin sliced. Not sure if it always this way?

We also shared a bottle of Riesling, which was only about $24, making it super affordable. Service was lovely. The staff checked in just enough without being overbearing, and they even surprised us with a birthday brownie, which was such a sweet touch. The ambiance was also really nice -- one of those versatile spots where you can dress it up or keep it casual. I had on a tailored sweatsuit, my sister wore jeans, and we still felt perfectly in place. It's definitely a spot you could come to for a date night, family dinner, or even a corporate happy hour. Overall, our bill came out to around $160, which felt completely worth it for the quality, service, and experience. I'd absolutely come back.

While I consider myself a foodie, I had little interest in driving around the Waukegan area the night I visited Anastasia's. At first it appeared to be a great choice--myriad people in the bar area talking, eating, and reacting to the televised game. I ordered a glass of wine to start; the pour was rather skimpy. Tempted to order another, I realized a single glass was on the border of my daily alcohol per diem?! I decided to forgo the pizza special for wings and cheese curds. The resulting dishes provided a healthy amount (see picture), however, taste (as other Yelpers note) was average. When you rack up $55 for cheese curds, wings, and a glass of wine, AND you leave feeling 'meh'--for me, Anastasia's is an easy, "Well, I tried it..." experience. I think my next two visits for work will be branching out to the surrounding area for alternative dinner options.

It was made perfect. If you're eating as an appetizer, order it as soon as you sit down. It takes 20 minutes to make (from scratch!). So worth it. I started with a Manhattan which is always done well. For dinner our table had Chicken Piccata, White Fish Vesuvio, and the Cioppino. Everything was done really well. This is a no-frills Italian restaurant, but the waiter Jackson was very attentive and the wait staff was on point with refills of water and taking things away from the table. The sauce that came with it (possibly a vodka sauce) was delicious. This is a must try at this restaurant! The chicken gnocchi soup was fantastic (but a little on the runny side). The chicken Parmesan (that was recommended) was moist and delicious and ample for two people. The shrimp scampi pasta was too bland. It needed garlic/more garlic, but also ample it for two people, and it came with five large pieces of shrimp. The homemade tiramisu was light and delicious. I look forward to trying their homemade manicotti or lasagna next time (that was recommended by the waiter). I will definitely be back to this restaurant!

The servers got our drink orders, and I got a Blueberry Mint N/A cocktail that was on the sweeter side. Most people got the same exact drink which most people enjoyed! With the set menu, we each enjoyed an appetizer, main course, and gelato for dessert: SOUP OF THE DAY Between soup and salad, I almost always go with soup. The soup of the day was broccoli cheddar. It came out piping hot, which I really enjoyed. The soup was creamy and salty, with a good blend of both broccoli and cheddar flavors. LIGUINI & CLAMS (WHITE SAUCE) Clams were not washed thoroughly, so there was some grittiness in some of them. There was an abundant of linguini pasta, topped with minced clams, parsley, and other aromatics. The white wine sauce was really loose and didn't stick onto the linguini well. While the aromatics helped, it was still a bit bland. I think having a spoon to scoop up the sauce to enjoy the linguini would have been nice, but the sauce itself was on the lighter side in terms of flavor. This was just okay. GELATO Light and refreshing vanilla gelato, this was a good way to end the meal. However, I don't really remember too much about it so it probably wasn't exceptional nor terrible. Overall, service was really slow. We got seated around 5:15, but our first course didn't come out until an hour later, and our main came out 45 minutes after that. Besides the pacing issue, food was pretty average, so 3/5 it is.
