Before making an eight-hour trip each way, I specifically asked them to tell me about every imperfection because I did not want to be out there and be surprised by anything because it so far. I was told by Steven that the car was in "perfect condition." I was assured repeatedly that it was exactly as described. Based on those representations, I invested significant time and money, including travel expenses and a hotel stay, to come see the car. When I arrived, the reality was completely different. The vehicle was covered in dozens of small scratches and dents. On every single panel of the car. Even the roof! It looks like a tree fell on it probably where the large branches didn't hit it, but all the small ones did. Or it got run off the road into brush or the like. Calling it "perfect condition" was not just inaccurate--it was blatantly misleading. It was obvious that the car had substantial cosmetic damage that anyone could see immediately. Steven was unpleasant to work with. He was pushy, snobby, entitled and just plain rude sometimes. After getting T-boned by a car at 50mph into my drivers side door, my car was totaled. I was trying to figure out transportation to New York. He impatiently told me to "just drive it. It's not that far." 15 HOURS. He also told me I couldn't have an auto delivery service pick it up because "I had to sign for it in person." He also told me I could only come on days when he was there and gave me HIS schedule for me to work around?? He also went on about needing to schedule all appointments that "it was rude to just show up to a used car dealership." Ummmm I'd been car shopping at a dozen prior and they were thrilled when a customer pulled in - even without an appointment. He informed he "He didn't know where I went to, but he's a professional." And that's just the highlight reel of correspondence. After leaving without the car, to make matters worse, when I requested the return of my deposit, the dealership was unresponsive and difficult to deal with. Communication became sparse, and obtaining a refund was far more complicated than it should have been. This experience was frustrating, costly, and incredibly disappointing. I would strongly caution anyone considering doing business here. If you value honesty, transparency, and basic customer service, look elsewhere.

I bought my vehicle there and the check engine light was on in a week, a tire was going flat, the brakes were failing, the steering was tricky, only one window worked, a tail lamp assembly was bad, the exhaust was on the brink of falling off and all kinds of other problems. I'm too disgusted to list all the problems. When I took it back, they wrote up an estimate that was double what I paid for the car and didn't even re-inflate the tire that they claimed was "all new." I'm lucky I'm a mechanic but most people are not. I should have checked it over better but I trusted them because they're a "dealership" and I'm totally screwed now. After this winter, I'm going to get this car in safe condition and sell it off because they won't do a thing for me. If you buy a vehicle from them, it'll be great... Until you sign your name and drive it for a week. They didn't even install my registration sticker that was sitting on the front seat. That's right, the temporary registration is still on it and I'm counting the days until I can afford to get rid of it. I've even read other reviews of people getting into accidents with vehicles purchased at this "dealership" just weeks after purchase due to a catastrophic failure, like a control arm. If I could put no stars or negative stars, that would still be too good. How many people is this business gonna screw over, injure, or even kill before they're shut down? I've already almost been in a handful of fender benders because they didn't tell me it needs all new brakes until two weeks AFTER I bought this lemon. Of course they were more than happy to sell it because the mileage exempts it from "Lemon Law." DO NOT buy from them. Spread the word and hopfully they'll be gone. Go there and ask for Steve. Ask him how he lives with himself.

I get a call saying my new parts came in but they cannot get me in for two weeks. I wait that time and come in for my scheduled appointment where they then take 20 minutes before telling me that they in fact ordered the driver mirror instead of the passenger mirror. So, I then had to wait another week for the correct part to come in and was told they would call me when it did. The week came to an end and I did not receive a call, so I called them and what do you know my part had magically just came in! I then was told the quickest they could get me in was a week out, even though this was supposed to already be done weeks ago. Fine. I come in at 8 am and they have me off the lot by 9, awesome..... except for the fact that the second I pulled off the lot I realized that the mirror was not properly hooked up (no lane departure, unable to adjust angle, etc) so I had to turn around and go BACK. Problem solved.. until the following week when my lane detection turned off yet again. Finally I had my husband call. For reference I am 7 months pregnant and not only feel defeated at this point but also that I am obviously being taken advantage of. My husband then had a lovely conversation with the dealership where ultimately I was blamed for ordering parts and not requesting for it to be serviced, said that I must have spoken with parts instead of service. Which is hilarious considering I went to the SERVICE DEPARTMENT and spoke to the SERVICE MANAGER (still have his card) who ordered the required parts for me and ensured me he would be able to "fix" my problem, however never once mentioned that a diagnostic test should be run to ensure there would be no issues? Wouldn't their expertise, and my lack of, be a reason to mention this and not assume that I know enough to ask? Needless to say, we will not be returning for any more work now or in the future and will advise both family and friends to stay away as well. The entire ordeal start to finish was a mess and they should be ashamed of themselves as it is an extremely poor reflection of their dealership and staff.

When my Honda CRV stopped working, he said it needed a whole new engine and that he had one all lined up. Believing his story, I sold the car to him for well less than 1/10th of its value. After he bought the car it suddenly did not need a new engine and was repaired at no cost by his friends in Red Hook. I kept in touch with him. A few weeks later, he could not remember what problems the car had that need to be repaired. Five months later, he suddenly could remember, and gave me a list of things that had been repaired. One of these items, the brakes, had been inspected and okayed by my own expert mechanic prior to the car's breakdown. Furthermore Mr. Hart claimed that he wanted my car to loan to clients whose cars he is repairing. What did he do that? If he advertised himself as a used car dealer, customers would be more suspicious and harder to swindle; if his purchase offer seems to be a one-time thing, he can cheat you all the better. He resold my car a few months after he bought it from me. Tim Hart is in fact a used car dealer and a dishonest one. Why do people lie in the first place? Lies are not a baroque linguistic decoration; they are a strategy to benefit the liar and disadvantage you. If your car won't go, take it to a reputable repair person who is not trying to buy your car. It is worth the towing fees to avoid being scammed for thousands of dollars. Do not believe what an expert says if he is trying to buy your car at the same time since he has a vested interest in lying to you. There are a handful honest and decent people in the car world and I have found two of them by now. Tim Hart is not an honest and decent human being. He is essentially a crook who should be avoided at all costs. I don't know how he sleeps at night.

It's rare to bring a car in for an inspection in the morning, and take a new car home in the afternoon, but that's what happened to me. It wasn't a complete surprise, just a little sooner than I expected. Todd was very friendly and helpful when I approached him early in the day with questions and the disclaimer "I'm not looking to buy a car right now I just want to compare 2 models for future reference." When I returned to the sales floor later he was incredibly patient as I navigated a purchase I wasn't quite prepared for. Todd was very informative about the options I was considering, and really won the day (and the sale) when the specific vehicle he brought over for me to check out was basically my dream car. I saw him approach that "autumn green metallic" Forester Wilderness and I knew I didn't stand a chance at resisting! When I came to take possession of the car Todd enthusiastically went over all the bells and whistles with me so I could be confident driving off the lot. He even made sure to show me how to turn off the features I didn't want. There's more I could say but you get the idea. I also MUST shout out to Tina, Ellen, and Buddy in the service department. I'm so glad the new owners kept them on bc they're the heart of this place.
