What a pleasant stay! Our room was comfortable and very clean. The beds and pillows are incredibly comfortable. I came home and ordered the exact pillows they use for my own bed. This place is adorable. Our two bed room was very clean. Clean carpets, clean curtains, clean bathroom. They have everything; our room includes a microwave, mini fridge, complimentary shampoo, soaps, coffee, reliable wifi, ect. They have a great attention to detail, providing you with little towels specifically for makeup removal. The bathroom is quaint--small--but tastefully decorated. The furnishings are country style and still smell of pine. The staff so far has been friendly and accommodating. We are looking forward to the complimentary breakfast tomorrow morning. read more

It was my first time at a motel and i am surprised when i got into that place. People are extremely nice, polite and helpful and the room was super clean, large and very comfortable. Breakfast was butter, cheese, jam, marmalade and various breads and unlimited coffee in their very cosy breakfast room called rooster. That was great ! read more

After a long day on the road, it was nice to be greeted by a friendly, smiling face at the front desk of the Country Lodge. My cozy lower level room had everything I needed. The queen bed had a comfortable mattress and surprisingly fine pillows. The bathroom was immaculate with vintage tile and a modern pedestal sink. The premises were well kept. The location couldn't be better. I found a plenty of restaurants and a buzzing brewpub​ just five minutes down the street. I would definitely stay here again the next time I'm passing through Pendleton. Oh, and it's a breeze to get back to the interstate when leaving. read more

GREAT VALUE! It may be small and old, but don't let that fool you! This place is your basic room, no fancy-dancy amenities, but it is SUPER CLEAN and TIDY! The staff are VERY friendly and helpful. Very affordable. Wonderful continental breakfast room, again SUPER CLEAN. The only downside, you have to go to the front desk for ice, so after hours you would not have access to any ice. We enjoyed our visit to this motel, which billed itself as a bed & breakfast motel. It is extremely clean with well-kept flowerbeds and the employees are very friendly. They write Bible verses on a little chalkboard outside the office, which I liked. Our room had very cool 50s-era ceramic tile in the bathroom. The price for our room was $77 with AAA discount . The only drawback is it's on a main highway, so it was a little noisy. I would definitely go back there if I were in Pendleton. read more

This place has the worst customer service I've ever experienced at a hotel! We tried to check in at 3:30 (our check in time was 3:00). There was nobody in the front office, what the heck?! So we had to call. They told us to come back In an hour. We have a sleeping baby in the car! Besides, our check in time was 3, not 4:30. We said we would have to book another hotel. Their response to that was that they would have to charge our card even if we went to another hotel. They left us barely any toilet paper - an almost empty roll. To make it worse, they claim they have breakfast from 8-10. We tried at 8, 9, and 10. The breakfast room was locked the whole time. Not impressed. read more

I had the mini suite which was very comfortable and clean. The owners are very friendly; I locked myself out of my room at 5:30 AM and the man (owner) came to the office and handed me a spare key. Location is close to downtown and just a couple blocks from the woolen mills. The train tracks are fairly close by; however I wore ear plugs to bed and was not disturbed. Eco friendly. Bed was comfy and the Pendleton decorative pillow was a nice touch. read more

A real taste of Pendleton. Clean, inexpensive and neither traffic or trains interrupted my rest maybe because of the comfortable bed and soft whirr of the air conditioner. Close in, food within walking distance and staff nice as was the light breakfast in a clean room and fluffy towels. Would I have been twice as happy with something that cost twice as much? Lovely little place to stay! Clean rooms and decent beds. It is well taken care of but like many hotels needs a little paint here and there. Loved the vintage bathroom tile. Not a bad place for a reasonable price. It's an older place on a pretty busy street but seemed pretty decent. We were traveling with our grandson and also had our dog (so we requested a pet-friendly room). We originally booked on Hotels.com and hadn't specified that we had a dog so upon arrival, we had to pay an extra $10 which isn't a big deal but wish it were more clearly stated that there would be an additional charge. The room was adequate. There was a little sofa/hide-a-bed for our grandson, a microwave, small fridge, and little coffee pot. The bathroom had a hair dryer and little shampoo, conditioner, and body wash; older/vintage style, it seemed clean. The hide-a-bed sheets had not been changed and there were only two bath towels. I took the dirty sheets up to front and he gave us clean ones as well as an additional towel. It would have been nice if there was a mattress pad on that mattress as it was pretty worn and not very clean. The wall unit heater/AC made it difficult to regulate the heat. Nice little breakfast set-up in the morning. With a little TLC and attention to details on cleaning and upgrading, it would be a great little place. read more

This motel, originally built in the 1950's and tastefully remodeled, takes you back. You know, things like parking right in front of your door. Also, hanging and flowering baskets were a nice touch. We were very impressed with how clean and fresh the room was. Bed was very comfy. Towels solid quality. They have a breakfast from 630am to 930am with bagels, bread, cream cheese, jam, cereal, milk, fruit, coffee and juice. So, why not a "5"? Well, the motel is positioned between a road and a railroad track. While it was not overly noisy, we opted for a room facing the road, the train does clack along the track. No whistles. The key question...would we stay again when in are in Pendleton? Absolutely. Good people running a family business and doing it better than many chains. Oh, another plus, Hal's Burgers are a short walk up the street. Maybe the best burgers I have had in 30 years. Give this motel a try. It just might exceed expectations... read more

What a pleasant surprise! Just east of downtown Pendelton, the Rugged Country Lodge, offers fantastic value and convenience. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, I loved the real tile bathroom! The continental breakfast (and facility) was charming and delicious. Nadeem, has really successfully created the feel of a B&B with his Lodge! Such a pleasure to meet Nadeem and his staff! What a difference a year makes. We booked our same room a month in advance only to find it given to someone else on arrival. The real nice continental breakfast has turned into frozen burrito's that are the of the type you would get in a gas station. The cozy comforters are gone, and who ever came up with the idea to put sheets on top of blanket must have a screw loose. All the nice handmade soaps and high end shampoo and conditioner has been replaced with generic run of the mill hotel stuff. We left at 0700 and returned @430 pm to find room not made up, and a arguementitive staff. Wake up calls not received. Everything that was said to staff was defended with a NO that's not how it's ever been. We have stayed here annually and this is our 6 th visit and if this is the "New Customer Service" I feel sorry for the owners that we actually met on our last stay and seem to be very nice folks. Unless something drastically changes we will not return. read more

We read some very sweet reviews when we chose this pretty little place. When we arrived and checked in for 4nights, the room looked clean and things were fine. Then we needed ice... you have to go to the office to get it and they lock the doors at 9pm. Then it was chilly in the room the first two nights and so we called and asked where the thermostat was and a very rude man came to the door stomped across the room and jacked the heat up to around 80 and huffed out, then the next night we called down because we needed ice and towels and the guy was rude reaching across the customers at the desk snatching the ice bucket away... when we needed more ice later on, we were actually dreading having to go down and ask them for anything... but I go down and I hear the guy cursing under his breath at me for needing ice!!!! CURSING AT ME?!!! (Uhm...sorry I bothered you but isn't this your job?) TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE, we would definitely never come back. NOT WORTH IT! read more

Very satisfied with the room. It was clean and comfortable. We arrived about 10:30 PM. The proprietor was nice. I would have given it 5 stars, if there was more selection at the breakfast. The only drink options were milk, apple juice, coffee and tea--I don't like any of those. I asked if there was any water, was told no, but he returned a few minutes later with a bottled water. Had to ask for ice, apparently the ice machine isn't readily available for patrons. We will be returning back this way in a week and will definitely stop here again. read more

We stayed at this sweet bed & breakfast type motel on our way from Kansas to Seattle. It was clean, updated, comfortable and cheap! We paid $50 to stay here. I highly recommend this stop. The town has everything you need too. Fast food, Walmart, Starbucks and several name brand stores. We were pleasantly surprised and well rested after our stay. read more

This was a charming and very clean hotel. The price was so reasonable, we wondered what it would be like, but were very pleasantly surprised. We were upstairs in a "country" furnished room with two beds. The complimentary breakfast was in a cute room all decorated with roosters. Room was super clean although furnishings had seen better days. New carpeting too. Staff was attentive and helpful. The hotel is a block away from the train tracks - if you like trains it's great, but they do run all night. We like the rustic, family-run feel, but it may not be for everyone.
