We've been to every carpet & rug store in Broward and Palm Beach Counties, with no luck at all. No one makes brightly colored rugs at all any more - all the rugs we saw were dull, and mostly the same. And they came at a really high price - we couldn't find any rugs under $8,000 (we were looking for a large area rug - 13' x 10'). And then we found Design-A-Rug!!! Ali and Mavash were so helpful. They actually make all their rugs from scratch, in any design you can come up with. They are great designers and they put our ideas and colors into the computer and came up with EXACTLY the rug we were looking for, AT HALF THE PRICE!!! A custom made, beautiful rug that is quality-made (very heavy!) and will last us years and years. So rare to find craftspeople with such skill, integrity and talent! And we're SOOOOOOO happy with our new rug!

With the pricing, and with what I've read, I expected it to be on the lines of a Roche Bobois... not even close. I know this is an outlet store but if this is what they sell... it's not for me. It had a really poor selection of damaged items that are still way over priced. I was honestly expecting to see much better prices on pieces especially ones with obvious flaws and I was surprised to see brands that come from China. I know RH has membership pricing and a strong following. There was no push to get something more expensive. They gave us lots of samples to take home and see how they looked (take advantage of this-can't believe how different things looked in situ compared to in the showroom). We went twice without buying anything and once we'd decided they ordered a rug for us in a specific color and size. It arrived in the time range we were given and the delivery went without a hitch. I'll definitely go back and recommend them. We even got a hand-written note from Rod thanking us for our purchase. As far as logistics go, it's on Federal, easy to find with plenty of parking.

I wanted to have a professional help be choose something appropriate. I needed a reclining sofa replaced in my existing living room. I brought many pictures of my living room and home to show the designer. The designer suggested a green couch. I never considered green in my earthtone living room. She said it would look good and showed me the fabric, insisting it would go with the existing decor. She went off the pictures I had presented and never suggested she come to the home. I signed the paper work. I paid in full and awaited my sofa to be made and delivered. They delivered the sofa and revealed the color. I told the drivers immediately that it was not correct for the room. It was a blue green. There is nothing close to blue in my living room or home. It did not go with earthtones. I called the design consultant who was at my home very quickly. She looked at it and looked at it and looked at it. Not a happy moment. I requested a different color sofa and here's where the problems began. At first, they told me that I signed the documents which indicate that there were no refunds on custom goods and that I was responsible for the purchase. When I got to a manager, Ms. Jei Spatola, she told me the responsibility for the selection mine. I had approved it and the design consultant's involvement was not relevant. When pressed she agreed to take back the sofa but, with a very large cash penalty. Never once did anyone say that I was wrong and that the sofa went well in the room. I eventually received a credit to my charge card for less than what Ms. Spatola had agreed to in writing. It took months to get the balance of what was owed to me. Here are my suggestions if you choose to deal with this company: 1. Once you sign for a custom order goods, you are the party responsible. Not the "design consultant." 2. At the very least you should insist the "design consultant" comes to your home. 3. Take anything the "design consultant" says with a grain of salt due to their lack of culpability. 4. Think about it before you sign. Take their proposal home and speak to you friends and family before signing their contract. In the end result, I lost a lot of money with nothing to show for it but, a lot of aggravation.
