My husband and I needed the side of our house fixed. The original owners graded the cement to where it leaned towards the house instead of away. We also wanted to take half of our backyard and make a nice cement sitting area. We really didn't know what design we wanted and gave Juan the run and creativity that he is so good at. When we realized just how messed up our concrete driveway was we were worried about the cost and effort that would go into having the work redone. We reached out to several of the concrete/mason people on Yelp, and were basically told that they weren't available for months. However, Juan Carlos responded, and came out to give us an estimate within hours. From the moment he arrived for the estimate, to the day he left after the work was finished, Juan Carlos was an absolute delight to work with. He explained everything that he was doing/going to do in detail, and made sure we understood precisely what the process was going to be. Then, when he told us the price, we were amazed that such high-level work was coming at such an incredibly reasonable price. The work that we had done was done in such a way that we were never inconvenienced. Juan carlos offered to help clear out the garage, and move any large items that were in the way of the work that needed to be done. The prep work was ultimately easy. The work looks fabulous. The driveway seamlessly connects to the old pad. The stone column work is beautiful, and he helped us to pick colors that worked so well for us. He also color-matched out front walkway, and it came out perfectly. Most incredibly, he made sure that he and his crew cleaned up after themselves, and he even went so far as to call out another worker with a pressure washer who cleaned up all of our concrete so that the new and the old all matched up. Juan Carlos along with his crew were excellent in the transformation of our backyard from dirt to 2200 square feet of magnificent concrete for our kids to play on. The kids loved running around on all the concrete with big smiles on their faces. In addition, they installed a sprinkler system for us too (Hubby will be seeding our lawn)! This shouldn't even get 1 star, I called many times in the span of about 6 month to get a quote for concrete work no one ever picked up the phone. Never got the quote but that's okay I went with someone else who answered a customers call. read more

Juan Carlos and his team did an exceptional job transforming our backyard. With the weather it postponed our start date but I was in no hurry because I want a quality work. And from the reviews I saw his quality of work stood out to me. It took about two weeks due to rain and the process of waiting for the concrete to set. It turned out great! Juan Carlos and his crew planted our trees, ran our irrigation, extended the drain pipe, leveled the yard, poured concrete, laid our artificial turf and put Rock in our flower beds. Juan sounded polite over the phone...however, the phone was our only contact. He rescheduled an estimate once, which is no big deal, but on our second appointment he was a no-show. He apologized when I called to see if he was running late and attempted to schedule another appointment, but I can't do business with a company that doesn't manage their time well. read more

TERRIBLE! This guy epitomizes what it means to be unprofessional. I don't even know where to begin, so i guess I'll just start firing off reasons why i STRONGLY recommend you avoid this company at all costs. We hired him to build a fire pit and bench based on positive reviews i saw on Yelp, and because he seemed nice early on. When he gave us our quote for a project, he said it would take 6-7 days to complete; he started the job one week before thanksgiving and didn't finish until New Year's Day. He never showed up when he said he would; he promised to be at our house "first thing in the morning" on numerous occasions but wouldn't show up until late afternoon, or sometimes not at all (without a courtesy text/call). He did not respect my time at all; once, i cancelled my plans because he wanted to meet and discuss stone/color options, but he failed to show up for our meeting without a courtesy call (again). And when i called him out on missing our meeting, his response was "sorry i slept in". He would smoke in my backyard without asking if it was ok, and i would find cigarette butts in my yard afterward. His crew was very messy, anytime they showed up for work i would have to go pick up empty energy drink cans scattered in my yard afterward. We asked him to dig a trench for the gas line which would supply our fire pit (for an additional fee), and in the process of digging the trench he broke several sprinkler and drainage lines. He felt bad for missing (another) meeting, and offered to fix whatever he broke while digging the trench free of charge. I thought this was the least he could do, but after the first winter rain our backyard flooded and it was clear we had a drainage issue. I hired an irrigation crew to inspect my backyard drainage, and i wasn't surprised when they informed me that Juan cut several corners during his drainage repair. Now i have to pay another $600 to have a crew fix Juan's "repairs". When it came time to pay the final balance, Juan had no idea how much we paid upfront, i had to remind him how much we paid so he could calculate what the still owed. When he completed the bench, he asked what color i wanted the back of the bench to be. I told him i wanted it to match the color of our house, however the back of our bench is STILL the color of concrete, he forgot to paint it. We paid him almost $17K for the whole project and, instead of enjoying the fire pit, we are dealing with headache of fixing his mistakes. At this point, i don't know what's keeping me from filing a complaint with the Californian licensing board. I don't usually write reviews of any sort, but i felt like my experience needed to be documented; PLEASE look elsewhere when seeking masonry work. read more
