Came here for lunch on a Thursday and finally got to try a place that's been on my list for a while. I ordered the Ropa Vieja (Cuban-style shredded beef) with veggies on the side, and my friend got the Costilla de Res (short ribs) with white rice and black beans. We also started with the chicken soup. Everything was incredibly flavorful. The short ribs were cooked perfectly.. tender, juicy, and truly fall-off-the-bone. The ropa vieja was just as impressive, packed with flavor and really satisfying. Even the chicken soup was delicious and comforting. And had a nice amount of chicken for the price! We ended the meal with Cappuccino and Cuban Coffee which was also amazing! For the lunch prices, it's honestly hard to beat the quality and portions you get here. The service was also great, everyone was attentive and friendly throughout the meal. The ambiance was nice too: relaxed, not overly crowded, with plenty of seating and good music playing in the background. Came here for my husband's birthday at the end of July on a Thursday night. We made a reservation and did not wait long to be seated.... However , I think they might have been short staffed that night because we sat at the table for almost 30 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us. My husband had to walk over to another waiter and ask him to take our order. I guess there was some confusion because none of the wait staff knew who was supposed to take our table. After all of that, it went ok. The food is always good at Rumba and we got a specialized drink that was fun and tasted good. I was thinking about organizing a birthday lunch there but decided against it because it's a party of 14 and I'm not sure if this particular spot can handle a large group. They do have valet parking so that's a plus. And the views are beautiful. Hopefully they were just having an off night. I really like the Rumba franchise but will be sticking to the one on Route 17 because they are top notch. read more

I had my daughter reserve a specific section of the establishment. When my daughter went to set up the decoration it had other customers in that section mind you the section was reserved in April we also gave in a follow up call a day before the event and they said it was ready. I frequent this location often. I love all the upgrades including the rooftop. We sat on the first floor and it wasn't as crowded as I expected it to be. We couldn't eat outside because it was raining. However, I may have to come back for their summer drink. It was a little sweet but the tajin softened it a bit. The food is the closest you will get to a home cooked Cuban cuisine in the area - that won't break the bank. The server was attentive and anytime we needed something, he was right there to assist. Limpia Del Alma, a super refreshing watermelon based drink featuring gin, that came with a full-on experience. Their traditional old-fashioned (chef's kiss with the bourbon cherry & chilled glass) and finally, we tried La Rumba Cubana, a take on a spicy margarita with fresh herbs and some sort of foam with a black salted rim. I don't typically like margaritas but, hands down, the most scrumptious balance of acid, heat, and salty-sweetness! The ambiance was spectacular & the staff friendly and attentive. Hasan was our bartender today but he was definitely more of a mixologist. He was knowledgeable about spirits and put on a show as he prepared our drinks. My Coconut Margarita was on point and thoroughly enjoyed. My Bistec de Pollo Encebollado (chicken with onions) is my favorite, along with the Moro Rice (rice & beans cooked in the same pot), and Tostones (green plantains) with the mojo dipping sauce. This is my go to spot when I am visiting my friend who lives in the area. At times parking can be tough to find a spot. Service is great and patient. I like this location because the are overlooking tree water and NYC. The calamari is a must have as it is paired with a sweet and spicy chili sauce. It's great on the seafood as well. I usually end up getting seafood here because it's such a good portion and the flavor. The dessert is great. I recommend their tres leches always. This was an Uber eats order so I am not sure about bathrooms or parking. I got the chicken mofongo, cooked plantains, and fries. The fries are a huge portion! definitely enough to share (and I like my food so that is saying something). The mofongo was huge too! For those who don't know. It's green plantains that make up a bowl and they fill it with stewed chicken. There doesn't seem to be any coating on the mofongo at all, as in not battered. It doesn't say gluten free so I would assume some possible contact if you are celiac. Fried plantains are one of my all time favorite foods so I absolutely loved them! Cooked perfectly! Fries were limp-but that May be from the travel. The mofongo was a large dish too-with red sauce and onion. I have been to Puerto Rico before too and I would say this is comparable to what I had there. Although you normally get the choice of garlic or red sauce but maybe it just wasn't set up like that in the app. Overall very good. And extremely filling. The side of the restaurant has a cafe. There is a lot of indoor and outdoor seating. Valle parking available if you can't find parking. Service: the front desk is nice but you have to wait at least 1 hour to be seated. Our server just asked what is our order, didn't even introduce himself or smile. As if we are in a fast food. It is not language barrier cause he speaks perfect english and it's not only him but 2 more has the same attitude. Food: to be honest most of the food was just okay. PAELLA: it was okay, there is a ton of seafood in there but the actual taste was just okay. The rice was perfectly cooked tho! UN POQUITO DE TODO: means it has a little bit of everything. It comes with roasted pork, shredded beef, steamed cassava with mojo and sweet plantains. Again, it was okay, it has a little bit of chicharon and that is the only one that I like. TOSTONES MONTADITOS: this is only food that I like here, the steak is perfectly seasoned and cooked and the tostones taste good. PIÑA COLADA: omg it is so sweet, it does not even taste pineapple, it is just milk and sugar. I have to asked for water so I can make it less sweeter! Me and my friend says it is way sweet! The staff are super busy so they're not really attentive. However, the ambience is really nice and they even have an outdoor deck portion. Food itself is pretty good and reasonably priced, but the kicker here is that the waiter was watching me give a tip which made me very uncomfortable and then end up somehow changing it after I left and I had to correct the 75% tip with my credit card!
