I was confused by the other reviews. I didn't want to have dinner here because I thought it was a sports bar. There are 2 different sides. The restaurant is separate from the sports bar side. I did dine at both. I stayed at the resort and I'm glad I didn't have to travel far for good food. Chef Jon and his team did a wonderful job. They made my weekend really special. The fish tank is in the Grill/Restaurant is beautiful. I wish we got to sit closer but we still had a good table so that we could watch the fish and stingray. I ordered the seafood pasta and my bf had the whole fried snapper. We had oysters as an appetizer. They were sooo good !!! I enjoyed them with a glass of Sauvignon blanc. On the sports bar side the next day, we enjoyed hot wings fried crispy to perfection with the best dirty martinis I've ever had at a bar. The bartender, was so nice and helpful. He makes the best drinks !!!!

This could have been a total gimmick and not worth it. Luckily, it was such a fun experience and as a local, I had a blast! We made a reservation a week in advance and asked for a seat as close to the fish tank. It was incredible getting to look at the fish throughout the meal. The braised Short Rib Special was absolutely delicious. As a non-seafood water (I know - wild for a Floridian), I was impressed by the amount of meat options and how tasty all the food was. The bread pudding desert was absolutely lovely. The bread pudding was warm and gooey and the ice cream was the perfect icey temperature. This is a great time for a tasty meal with a unique view.

We did not eat here, but swam in the fish tank. My boys had A LOT of fun and learned a bunch too. We showed up at 8:50, were welcomed by a very attentive and knowledgable individual promptly at 9am. He took us to all 3 of the tanks and explained the rationalization of the tank layout and described each fish. We then went upstairs and saw the holding tank for new or sick fish. After that, it was time for the swim in the tank. Once the last member of the group entered into the tank, the 10 min timer started. This was MORE than enough time for the kids to swim around and see the fish. Some of the fish were pretty curious and checked out the kids too. There was also a life guard up with us ensuring extra safety. It was such a neat experience! We then went home and watched the creation of the aquariums on Tanked (the last episode on season 7 - done in 2014).

After a disappointing experience at a nearby restaurant, we stumbled upon RumFish Grill--and it completely turned our evening around. From the moment we arrived, the host was incredibly welcoming and friendly, which made us feel right at home. We were immediately drawn in by the massive aquarium filled with real tropical fish, creating a beautiful and unique atmosphere. The views were amazing, and the ambiance was lively without being overwhelming. We also noticed there's a connected gift shop with some great merchandise, and they even feature live music, which adds a fun and relaxed vibe to the whole experience. Our server, Melissa, was fantastic--super friendly, helpful, and took time to walk us through the menu and specials. Before our meal, we were served complimentary bread with a butter and honey blend--a delicious touch that we really appreciated. We ordered the beef tenderloin skewers with chimichurri and fries. The flavor was on point--perfectly seasoned and satisfying. The only small downside was that the skewers were warm rather than hot, possibly from sitting a bit while the fries, which were perfectly crispy and hot, finished cooking. To drink, we had a beer and a mojito, both of which were refreshing and well-made. All in all, this was a fantastic experience--great service, delicious food, a stunning setting, and thoughtful little extras that made a difference. I'd absolutely recommend RumFish Grill and look forward to returning!

Obviously, the place is really cool inside. However, the food is not that good. The servers were nice, but don't expect all that from the food.

The best part of my dining experience was watching the fish in their huge fish tank... To start off, how does a server bring out two rolls to a table of eight, five adults and three children, we had to ask for additional bread three times... A shared appetizer of firecracker calamari, came out lightly breaded, limp calamari strips with the breading, hardly adhering to the seafood, with the only discernible flavor being spice nothing else, no salt or pepper or anything other seasoning... Even more disappointing was my chilled seafood Cobb salad, when it came out, I was shocked to see the so-called (lump crab meat) the size and shape of blue cheese crumbles, and small blue cheese crumbles at that, when the server came back out, I asked her if this was in fact, lump crab in which she said it was... The chef came out to bring my wife's seafood Cobb salad's avocado and bacon that was missing from her plate, I asked the chef if this was in fact, lump crab meat he said " yes I only buy lump crab meat"... I have eaten a lot of lump crab meat, at restaurants, and have purchased it many times myself , and this was not lump crab me. In fact it was a watery, poor tasting, crab that actually tasted as if it was frozen, "poached shrimp " tasted old... The old Bay aïoli, was a strange taste, and I was sorry that I ordered extra on the side, which I did not use...A shared order of beef tenderloin cubes were good...Other comments from my cousins; jerk chicken was good, salmon was OK, burgers were OK, spicy seafood linguine, not good, half the entree was left... In Rumfish Grills defense, they did take my salad off the bill, I think it was only fair for our party of 16 for them to do this... On our annual cousins get together we will not be returning to the R G, due to value for money, quality, and spotty service....

Outstanding service, the food was delicious and we loved the huge tank full of beautiful fishies! Tried a variety of options for dinner but the grouper was perfectly cooked and so good. Highly recommend for dinner and great ambiance

Key lime pie $12, very small portion for the price, part of the pie had a weird taste to it.

Service and ambience 5/5 We just went for dessert. The pineapple upside down was the best. 8.5 outta 10. Key lime 5 outta 10 half the pie had a weird taste. Bread pudding 1/10 just not good at all, 4 people at our table, and hardly any of it was eaten. This item needs to be revisited by the chef, serious fail.

This is a resort/hotel folks it's not exactly fine dining. The dinner service here is not our jam. We come for the Rumfishies "HAPPY HOUR" at the BAR. The dining room does have the most incredible fish tanks/aquarium, but it's just a touristy resort on the beach. If you drive up to this resort & park, it's a $10 charge for 4 hours. However, if you walk up from the beach or from the sidewalk/bus stop etc., you obviously do not have to pay to park to dine in. The dinning room is kinda lame like a hotel restaurant. Although the aquariums are very beautiful & it's nice to see all the fishes, the "happy hour" is where it's at, at Rumfish Grill. Sir Hubbers & I LOVE the "happy hour" at "Rumfishies" We call it "Rumfishies" Sir Hubbers likes the Rumfishies. Rumfishies has the "happiest happy happy hour" on St Pete Beach! OuiOui. First of all the Bar area is incredible. They have 4 giant TV's Right over the bar, so if you want to catch some brainwashing highlights during happy hour, they got you covered. And How is it that Rumfishies has the Happiest Happy "happy hour" on St Pete beach? Glad you asked. First of all, the Happy Hour menu is HALF PRICE from 4-6pm. Plus they have drink specials daily. On the Rumfishies "Happy Hour" menu, you will find the most incredibly fresh local Florida snapper ceviche. Not your average mexican ceviche, this ceviche has crispy plantains, ginger & celery in it. Intoxicating, inspirational. Superb. A MUST ORDER. CHIKIN WINGS: We do not like any of the wing sauces they currently offer. We order the wings plain with the sauce on the side. Their wing sauces are just average bottled. However, if you ask for blue cheese dressing on the side. It's house made & it's incredibly delicious with giant chunks of quality blue cheese and Worcestershire sauce. Excellent. ALSO, THE "CHEESE BURGER" on the HALF PRICE happiest happy "Happy Hour" menu is superb. OuiOui. It's a 10 oz Cheese burger, topped with BACON, LTO & the "Onion" is purple onion, which is moi fave, served on a Brioche Bun, WITH curly fries or sweet potato fries. Yes, you read that right. BACON CHEESEBURGER DELUX WITH FRIES/SWEET POTATO FRIES FOR HALF PRICE during the Rumfishies Happy Hour! Winners Circle OuiOui :)... ADDED to MOI "HAPPIEST HAPPY happy hour" list! AND "prowling for patties" best burgers list! LOVE "Rumfishies" Happiest Happy Happy hour! Will Return & Often!

Casual! Whole fried snapper! Fried Wahoo! Local fish! Full menu, full bar…read more Hookin' Aint Easy Seafood Company is a cool house converted into a fish market and patio with a food truck and a bar with chairs with backs. There's plenty of umbrellaed tables and picnic tables. They have a full menu of apps, seafood, and burgers. Their whole fried snapper is one of our favorite fish, and Hookin' serves a generous serving, perfectly tender and sweet, in a light crispy layer of coating, on a regular soft bun, with lettuce, tomato, and red onion. Their Fried Wahoo is also well-prepared. We got fried, and it was tender and fresh. Both fish came with a heaping serving of hot crispy fries. You could also get either fish blackened, and you could add various veggies as sides. We ordered our food and also picked it up ourselves at the bar. Hookin' can get crowded, especially when they have a live musician, and parking can get pretty tight. It's just off I-275 at 22nd St, in St. Pete Fl east of Gulfport. They keep their social media pretty up-to-date, but we didn't track down a "regular" webpage.

I have never eaten blue crabs from the shell,…read moreand I love whole lobster, so I thought that deconstructing another type of crustacean would be fun. I got off the bus and walked across the street and into the parking lot. It was fairly busy, and I made my way to the patio area, because outside seating only. There was a kind of tiki bar with a line where you go up and get your own alcoholic beverage any time you want. You can eat at the bar or at any of the picnic tables that you pass on the way to a kind of food truck with a window where you order your food and buy bottles of soda and iced tea from a vat full of ice. I loved the vibes right away. I got in line at the "truck". Then it was my turn to order. Well, whaddaya know, they just ran out of blue crabs! And no soft-shell crabs were available as the water they live in is not warm enough yet. But they did have one of my favorite seafood delicacies, stone crab claws, so I ordered those instead, and asked for the mustard sauce instead of melted butter. I also ordered French fries and cole slaw for my sides. And then I ordered one-half dozen raw oysters, because. I was given a little wire stand with a card inserted into the top with my order number on it, to be placed on my table. Then I sauntered over to the bar and ordered an IPA from the busy, bearded and well-tattooed bartender. If you are wearing shades you will be admonished to remove them before paying, and I saw why, as the display on the... pay thingy has excessive polarization. Next I found a good spot in the shade and sipped my beer and checked the place out. Was there music? I think so, but I can't remember! Just all kinds of folks having a good time. Two preschoolers were busily playing in the sand by the main walkway to the food line, and took up most of the path most of the time, but nobody seemed to mind. If you aren't into playing with little trucks in the sand I think there is also corn hole off in one corner. If you don't know what that is, I dare you to look it up. After not too long some plates of food showed up, and I took some pictures and then got busy. First I tried the fries, because they are best when fresh and hot, but the fries were limp and sad. I just let their little ol' hand-cut selves alone. The oysters were served on the half shell on ice, and came with nice hot grated horseradish and cocktail sauce, plenty of lemon wedges, and saltine crackers. They were excellent! Then I turned my attention to the claws, glorious stone crab claws. I noticed that I was given butter instead of mustard sauce. That didn't stop me. But what did slow me down was the lack of a claw-cracker. The claws were pre-cracked a bit, but not in a way that was helpful to get at the meat. And I need leverage to rip the joints apart as my fingers don't work like they used to, so I asked for, and received quickly, a cracker. Some of the claws were on the small side, and the meat in some of the claws was a bit soft-feeling, but it was all pretty tasty. However, they fell short of my previous experiences elsewhere, including when I cooked some at home a few years ago. The cole slaw was very good. The young guy who brought my food and cracker tool was friendly, and quite funny. The woman who took my order was also nice. The bartender was just to busy to be anything but awesome. So all in all, the food was a bit of a letdown. I will try to go back for the crabs, and I saw hush puppies in a photo, that would be better than the fries.

This is the kind of place that feels like it's been around forever, in the best way. Spacious for the area, lively without being chaotic, and backed by attentive service that keeps things moving even when it's busy. The menu is extensive, and then just when you think you've seen it all, there's a specials board tucked away with even more to choose from. If you can time your visit right, Tuesday is the move. They run a buy one pound, get one pound half off deal on snow crab legs, and it's easily one of the best values around. The snow crab legs are fresh and satisfying, and the Dungeness crab holds its own as well. Both pair perfectly with their rich, drawn butter, simple but done right. Portion sizes here are no joke. The shrimp skewers are almost excessive in the best way. Three skewers loaded with roughly eight shrimp each, so you're looking at around two dozen shrimp total, all a solid medium-large size. It's the kind of dish that makes you pause when it hits the table. The shrimp pasta is another standout and clearly a house favorite. It's packed with flavor and easily one of the more memorable dishes on the menu. Good enough that ordering a second one to-go actually makes sense. The clam chowder, though, was the one miss. While it's loaded with plenty of clam meat and has a hearty base, there's a slightly smoky flavor that throws it off. If you're a chowder fan, it might not hit the mark. Probably something to skip next time. As for the crab cakes, they passed a pretty tough test. A Maryland native at the table gave them a strong approval, which says a lot. Pro tip: Get there early, ideally around lunch, if you want to lock in that snow crab deal. It's popular, and you don't want to risk missing out. Overall, this is a reliable, crowd-pleasing seafood spot that leans into big portions, solid execution, and a relaxed coastal vibe. Just don't forget to validate your parking, cuz they sure didn't ask preemptively. They were celebrating a 3-day grand reopening when we went on Saturday. There was *one* artisan in their market space. The music was pumping loud enough to not be able to converse. Although it drew a crowd of younger folks, there was not much to behold from the "grand" reopening. Not even s cost of paint. The beach bar may not have been part of the sprucing up idk, I didn't see anything worth celebrating. I meant to look at the size of the cocktail cup that we got (small), but $13-14 for a cocktail is highway robbery for the end result. And $18 for 6 wings ($3 a wing) was a little disappointing. I expected better of a Hilton adjoined restaurant. No one part was terrible. It was just the way they matched up - loud, expensive, small portions. If you're loud maybe you're cheap and tasty. If you're expensive, maybe you're fast and delicious. This was all the worst parts of a bar that doesn't care about its patrons' economics. A bar that wants to serve tourists with mediocrity and move on to the next crop of people who will never be there again. If you're a tourist it'll probably be fine, if overpriced. If you're a local, don't bother. To be fair, we should ask if there was anything good. hm ... no. We won't be returning. 3 stars is probably generous.
