Another first this past weekend as stopped by the Tiki Bar. Overall, I was surprised by some of the other reviews as we had what I would describe as a much better than expected experience. Entertainment: We saw many of us favorite musicians at the Tiki bar first. A variety of different artists and genres; none that we haven't liked. Service: Our server was great. She checked in on us routinely and was pleasant/friendly. Food: The smoked tuna spread was not what you'd typically expected, for us this was a positive. This dish wasn't what I would classify as a spread as it contained no mayonnaise. Instead it was shredded smoked tuna with a variety of veggies of crackers. The chicken quesadilla was delicious; shredded seasoned chicken, cheese, olives and jalapeños. The rice bowl, wasn't really a bowl and was very tasted. The tofu was blackened which is rare to find and it packed nice flavor. We plan to add Tiki bar into our Gulfport restaurant rotation.

In my opinion, The Tiki is the best place in Gulfport! Mark and his Wife and Staff are all great people! Care about their community and about People and the food is always Great! Look at all the pics and follow them on Facebook! You wont be disappointed. The music.... eh... Its definitely niche music.

Chicken tender basket. 10/10 awesome service. You can tell it's fresh and sauces homemade! Really good.

Really great food and service. Chicken tenders 10/10 you can tell made fresh and home made sauces. Great hidden gem of a place

We came back 2 years later and unfortunately the place had much steeper prices ($4.50 before now $9 for tenders during happy hour). Bummer to see a good deal change bc of inflation. Service was slow and weren't very kid-friendly for my daughter (no kids menu, smoking on patio). Probably wouldn't return.

My good friend and I decided to go to the Tiki bar & Grille for lunch. We ordered the poke and a lb of peel & eat shrimp. The poke was decent. Nice helping of it with a tasty wasabi sauce drizzled on top. The shrimp came out about 20 minutes later. I've lived on the Chesapeake bay all my life, and steamed shrimp is part of our lives- the shrimp we were brought were discolored- not the orangish look they are supposed to have. The shells looked old as if they had been cooked, frozen, then cooked again. No color to the shells only a scratchy whitish grey-no kidding. We peeled one, the shell slid off the shrimp, the top layer of skin slid off the shrimp, leaving a mangled and tattered discolored body. We sent it back only to get a batch that were exactly the same. I guess they thought the cup of Old Bay would mask the lack of color & stench of the shrimp. The waitress said, " that's funny, everyone loves them".. well, maybe landlocked people who don't know any better. We decided to order nachos. I mean, you can't f$$& up nachos, right? WRONG. We had a couple bites, and I noticed the chicken was soggy as well as the chips. Not soggy because of the cheese, soggy because of the chicken-juice that puddled on the plate; it was straight up chicken-juice. This was nauseating. When tipped, the juice surged to the side of the plate. Pure gross. The waitress, who was very kind & understanding, let us know that the owners were the ones in the kitchen. We told the waitress they sucked. She relayed the message. A woman came out with attitude and was far from being sincerely apologetic. My friend, who manages a couple of restaurants, told her the food we were served was unacceptable. Her comment to us about the nachos was, "I guess I didn't drain it enough." DRAIN? DRAIN what? Ugh. The canned chicken? She did offer to take it all off our bill, but although it completely sucked, we did order it, and we didn't want to be complete asses. We figured the owners are in the kitchen bc finding help these days is difficult. Until better cooks are hired/food improves, we'll never go there again.

Sangria was delicious but the salad options were small and underwhelming especially for the price.

Basically, pretty much an outdoor venue. Reasonable drinks, and great music. Tough in the summertime though when it's so doggone hot.

We wanted to eat something that would be filling, comforting, grab a few drinks but not necessarily need a whole sit down experience. So we stumbled upon Casita Taqueria. Thanks to the other awesome reviews, we knew this was the place to go! It literally feels like a casita when you walk in. They have lots of outdoor seating, picnic tables and such. Inside had a bit less seating (especially when it's raining and most of the people want to stay indoors). Either way, we found a table for 5 in no time. The ordering is easy, you go up to the register, order what you want and then they bring the food to you. No servers no waiters just easy. Highly recommend ordering a pitcher of margarita, we got the spicy jalapeño one and it was so refreshing! The food was delicious, freshly made, quick, and perfect for a lunch break. We got the tempeh nachos, rice and beans bowl, chips guac and salsa plus everything else the rest of our table got. We left full and our hearts happy! The ONLY THING I wish I would see was a super spicy house sauce. Which btw, they have a little fridge of their house made sauces for you to grab and enjoy. I just WISH there was a spicy one, the sweet one was pretty good!

I see in another review a Yelper complains that it's not a tiki bar, but if you understand proper English, they're not claiming to be a tiki bar. The name says Pub & Grill. The bar's OWNER is Tiki Tim. That's his nickname, not a description of the bar. Yes there are some tiki type decorations, and yes, the place is actually a dive bar, But they have an absolutely fantastic kitchen so Tiki Tim's is well worth visiting. I ordered the Loaded Crab Cake Bloody Mary ($26.99). This exceptional Bloody Mary comes with a Bloody Mary Chaser! The chaser had 6 green olives. The Bloody Mary itself had: 4 pcs Celery 2 slices of Bacon 3 Mini tomatoes 4 lg shrimp 1 Crab cake burger It's a meal as well as a drink. Nice kick, too. The menu has several different Bloody Mary options. I also ordered the Blue Crab Fries ($14.51). A huge dollop of blue crab dip on seasoned fries. Enough dip for all the fries. Wing Man Gary (USAF pilot, retired) had the Tiki Burger ($14.51). Gary reports the burger was good but not exceptional. The menu has some fantastic offerings, I'll be back to try more!

The roll was super fresh and had a nice sponginess to it. I got the cheesesteak with the onion, pepper, and Cooper's Sharp cheese and it was out-damn-standing. My wife wanted to try the crab cake but the bartender (the fabulous Carolyn, aka London) sold her on the fresh-caught snapper sandwich. She got it blackened and said it was the best snapper sandwich she's had in a long time. The bar and grill is far from pretentious and is a couple steps up from dive bar status. Prices are fair and service was top-notch. Overall this place backs up its Yelp rating. I'll be back for those crab cakes soon!

Well-versed on the menu and a very pleasant lady. It's certainly not a fancy place and it looks like it's been around for a while, but it's the kind of place where you might like to hang out at the bar. Everyone there seems to be friendly and you get that comfortable feeling. We had a variety of food items, some better than others but nothing below average. Really good salads, as you can see by the pictures, a nice job on the chicken wings, a BLT that was pretty tasty; the butternut squash soup was OK, pretty thick and not hot at all. One was returned to the kitchen to be heated up. There was a chicken dip that really didn't hit the spot, and the tortilla chips that came with it seem to be past their prime. As for the fried mushrooms. I found them pretty much ordinary. A nice surprise were the brussels sprouts with balsamic and goat cheese. Really really good. Overall, I would give the food about a 3 1/2 stars at the service five stars so what averages out around four stars. Like I said it looks like a nice place to hang around and have a couple of beverages and a little something to eat.

I have noticed this place for years and there are always cars out front when they're open. I've also noticed that a lot of the people going in and out are Mexicans. Now I know why. This place is authentic! It is a cheerful little Mexican restaurant with knickknacks brought across the border by the owners and proudly displayed everywhere there's room. I was greeted by Mama Nina as soon as I walked through the door and told to sit anywhere I liked. I was immediately served with chips, salsa, hot sauce, a large glass of ice water, and a menu. Mama Nina saw my interest in the little house plaques behind the register and proudly pointed out her favorite. The salsa is smooth and easy to pick up with the paper thin homemade chips. Neither salsa nor chips were too salty. A lot of places will serve you salty chips and salsa so that you will drink more. Señor Taco isn't trying for the cheap sale. This is the real deal. I immediately ordered Guacamole and Chips ($10.99). The guacamole is obviously homemade, had just the right amount of spice, and was topped with a sprinkle of pico de gallo, instead of having it mixed into the guacamole. Easily matched the best guacamole I've ever had. For my entrée, I ordered the fajita trio ($29.69). This was also the best fajitas I've ever had. Large slices of steak, chicken, and perfectly grilled shrimp, smothered in green and red peppers and onions. Brought out on a hot metal plate with a wooden under plate and still sizzling from the grill. You can see the steam in the photo. A separate plate held yellow rice, scoops of sour cream and guacamole, two different kinds of cheese, lettuce, and pico de gallo. The beans were served in a small crockpot because it was almost like a soup! I mixed the rice with the beans and ate it with the spoon provided. There were easily enough mixings to make 8 fajitas but I was only given 3 flour tortillas, although I'm sure I would have been served more if I asked. There was no way I could eat everything on the table. When I was full Mama Nina deftly packaged my leftovers to go. This was easily the best Mexican meal I have had here in Florida. Well worth the $50 including generous tip. There is a business for sale sign in the window. I hope they are moving to a better location. It always surprises me to find excellent restaurants in little out of the way holes in the wall. I'll be back!
