Great place to take the family. Went there multiple times on our weeklong vacation. Gotta try the crab cakes! Nice atmosphere, drinks, friendly staff. Drinks were reasonably priced and delicious. Had some Nashville hot chicken box thing for lunch, wouldn't recommend that as it had small portions and not a lot of taste. Everything else was pretty good though. read more

Walked in, two hostesses looked at my wife and I as if we bothering them. Finally got their attention, asked to be seated inside, she walked us towards the outside, we reiterated inside, she sat us inside. Looked over the menu, no one came over to us, 12 minutes later, no contact, we left. The food is nothing special pizza, pasta, burgers etc, all way overpriced. Had lunch there today. I got one of the specials which was Southwest egg rolls with dipping sauce. The dipping sauce was a tad spicy but very good. My husband got another special which was called the"Bunslinger" which was a hamburger topped with pulled pork and onion rings. Lol. We both loved the name of that sandwich. We also both got the onion rings which were very good. The place was not very full since it was lunchtime on a weekday but the view was beautiful and the service was especially good. Inept. Family tried to place an order via a phone call; no one answered. Tried to place via an app - couldn't change the pick-up time. So, around 4:45, we decide to drive to the restaurant and order takeout for 6:00 PM at the counter. We say three times, "order is for 6:00 PM pick-up" and we are told at the end AFTER tipping, that our order will be ready in 30-35 minutes. So, we explain - this is not what we asked for. Please, don't make the food now - we want a 6 PM pick-up. Was this not clear? Hostess didn't know what to do. Claimed the manager was asked, and was told it's too late and we are stuck with this. I argue - we are human beings standing in a restaurant - why isn't this fixable? No answer. Never in my years of ordering takeout has this ever happened. I am dumbfounded; is the app running the restaurant? Does some machining churn out food when told to do so by a computer? If so, who did I just tip? Here's what's really happening. They don't care. Their staff doesn't care, their management doesn't care, and they clearly don't want your business. The "not answering phone call" the previous night should have been the hint my family didn't take. I'm sitting in the parking lot, waiting for our pickup, annoyed that I didn't ask for a refund and order somewhere else. read more

The Rumor Reel recently updated their menu with appetizing options including a specials list. We tried the baby back ribs, salmon and rockfish tenders. Honestly, we were surprised at how good the ribs were. Salmon was cooked to our request, no complaints. The rockfish tenders weren't bad but probably wouldn't not order again. The beer battered fries were hot and crispy, very addicting. One thing that has been consistent at the Reel is the service. Every server we've had has been attentive and very friendly. I hosted a private 75th birthday party last week at The Rumor Reel in Pasadena, MD, and was thoroughly impressed with the professionalism and generous accommodations that the restaurant offered me and my guests. The event coordinator, Morgan, was a particular joy to work with. I encourage anyone looking to book a private event to get in touch with her to make it especially memorable. I was able to bring in and set up my own decorations, including a balloon arch of 100 balloons, table centerpieces, tassels, streamers, and other various party decorations. The staff was so kind to even help take them down after my event was finished! Staff even helped me serve a two-tier cake to my 30 guests. The food was great; I highly recommend the honey-old Bay wings, the pretzel bites, and the meatballs. Please consider booking your next private event here; you won't be disappointed. Nice location on the water, but definitely off the beaten path, whether by land or water. It's a pretty big place and offers outside seating, as well as two indoor sections. Everything was loud when we went (Friday night around 7), so this isn't a place to go and enjoy casual conversation. Food is OK; my scallops were decent but my partner didn't enjoy her mahi. Prices are reasonable for a waterfront place. Service a bit challenged. It's the only eatery for miles, so they enjoy a bit of a captive audience. read more

I sat at the bar and was quickly attended by Jay, as I later got a personal thank you when I left with a kind hand shake. I appreciate that extra personal touch (pun intended). He suggested today's special "calzone with up to 3 toppings. I chose pepperoni, green peppers, shrooms. It was marvelously served with a side of marinara which was warm to room temp not cold but tasty. I would recommend if you like your ingredients raw not sautéed just specify I'm sure they would do it. Not all the shredded cheese was melted inside but it was still very tasty. My wife and I have been here previously to have a couple of drinks and listen to the live music. While we will certainly come again it won't be for the food. The crab soup was mostly large chunks of celery and onion with crab meat added as an afterthought. We ordered shrimp with the potato and onion. The potatoes were sliced thin as if they were making potato chips. Did I mention that our waitress didn't bring us plates for the shrimp, silverware or napkins. We had to ask another waitress to give us the plates and we noticed napkins at a station where there were supplies for the wait staff. It was apparent that it was not just our waitress that was lacking in basic customer service skills as I noted other patrons getting supplies for their table. In the future when we come for the music we will dine elsewhere prior to our visit. read more

We really enjoy this restaurant/bar for the food, drinks & the atmosphere. Outdoor seating on the water where you can watch the busy marina. I personally highly recommend the grilled salmon Greek salad. If visiting on a weekend evening either get there early or prepare for a bit of a wait to get a table. This place is AWESOME!!! I wish I had thought to take pictures but the decor is amazing and they are right on the water. There are plenty of seating options, you can choose from the outdoor or indoor waterfront seating or seating in the lounge area! The food and the service was right on par. Our waitress Amanda was super friendly and very attentive. The food was delicious and timely ( I got the seafood personal pizza and fries and we also tried the crab pretzel appetizer which was to die for!) The bathrooms were spotless and well decorated. So hubby and I have been here a couple times and I have been there for a girls night. Today I called ahead to the number on this page, and asked about a happy hour. I was told yes we have happy hour from 3-6 and he listed some specials. We get there and the waitress just stared at us when we walked in, to the point that my husband asked if they were open. After we were sat we looked at the menu's and saw no happy hour menu in the three she left us. I got up and found our waitress and asked for the happy hour menu, she just again looked at me like I was crazy. She then came to our table and told us she didn't know what we were talking about. I told her I called the number on this page and asked about happy hour and she told me she doesn't normally work this shift so she had no idea what we were talking about. My husband then asked about the pizza that was posted on their Facebook page and again she said I don't have a clue what you are talking about. I was so beyond pissed at this point that I said let's just go to The Broken Oar, at least their servers know what is on the menu. We will never come here again. Everything was great, cute spot! Went later in the evening so we didn't really see much of the outside as it was dark & cold. Band was playing that was super loud, mildly annoying having to yell across the table to have a conversation but it was Saturday night so it was no big deal.
