I came across the Rimor Reel while trying to find a new place to celebrate Mother's Day. I made reservations for the Sunday brunch. Sunday brunch runs from 9 am-1pm. We were seated immediately once we checked in. The brunch buffet was on its last leg ( we arrived at 12:30) so we opted to just order off the regular menu. The menu has a lot of great choices. We started with the rockfish tenders and the brodkin egg rolls, both were delicious. I was especially fond of the rockfish tenders, they were seasoned and fried perfectly. I ordered a side salad, it was huge. I ended up boxing because I would not have been able to try my main dish if I had eaten that salad. For our main entrees we went with the Shrimp Scampi and the Blackend Chicken Alfredo. The Alfredo was just the way I like it, creamy not oily (oily does not reheat well). My mother said the scampi could use some cheese. The portions sizes were on point and the prices are very reasonable. The only issue I had was with our service. There was a big confusion on who was supposed to be waiting on the table. Once that was settled it just took forever for the server to comeback. I had to get up a few times to get my own stuff; plates and silverware. It was busy so I'm going to give the service the benefit of the doubt. I made reservations to try the brunch buffet later so we'll see if there is any difference on a non holiday. Rumor Reel is a huge place with plenty of space for large parties. They have an outside deck/patio that overlooks the creek. Plenty of seating outside. There is a stage so I assume they have live entertainment. The parking lot is a gravel pit, it is big but it almost doesn't seem big enough for the amount of people that come here. Great place. Checkout and form your own opinion . read more

I came in for brunch recently. The location is very pretty. I came in the winter, so most of us were inside (which was quite pleasant), but there is a nice deck outside overlooking the water. Our waitress with quick, friendly and attentive. For brunch, one can order things à la carte, but we all opted for the buffet. The teenage football player in our party got his money's worth for sure. It was a solid spread of savory and sweet breakfast classics, including several types of eggs, old-school staples like cream chip beef and sausage gravy, as well as a waffle bar with all the fixins. There is plenty of fruit and granola for making a parfait. While none of us partook, there was also a Bloody Mary bar, so one can make up any sort of crazy combo. There are also mimosas to order. Rumor Reel is tucked away in a marina and is a well known spot with the locals. The menu covers everything appetizers, salads, main entrees, including handhelds for those wanting a quick bite. Cocktails, wine, and draft are available. I've enjoyed several dishes during my visit to the area here. The calamari was served hot, however the serving was small. The fish and chips is an option as the cod was hefty and batter ratio was good. The cream of crab was good however after a few spoons, it was too salty. Maybe just the batch the day of my visit, but I couldn't finish it. The Buffalo shrimp salad was a perfect dinner size though I'm not sure how I feel about the diced tomatoes and chopped red onions. I prefer them sliced and the generous portion of bacon was a lot. Adding avocado and subbing the dressing to their Old Bay ranch served on the side was a bonus. If you love peanut butter, the Reese's pie is decadent to polish your meal. Being a marina the parking shares the yard with boats, heed caution when maneuvering through the gravel lot. There are ramps at the entrance for access. Fun place as they have live bands and screens throughout. The staff here have wonderful hospitality! The dock-side deck and bar is excellent. Easy access by boat with deep water all the way up Bodkin Creek to the marina. However, the food is just Meh. The only good exception is the outstanding shrimp salad sandwich. But the real shocker was the atrocious crab cakes. Such a bready blob with a few pieces of lump crabmeat thrown in. The interior is a gooey mess of undercooked breading. At $32 for the 2 crab cake platter, they were a complete disappointment. We are in Maryland on the Chesapeake Bay in a fishing-themed bar--they need to step up their game!!. Especially since as you sit there in Bodkin Creek you are surrounded by the homes of actual Chesapeake watermen. They are letting the fishery down by serving such a lame crab cake. So, Rumor Reel earns a 3-star review for a great view, just OK service from VERY young inexperienced wait staff, and disappointing food (except for that great shrimp salad sandwich). There are PLENTY of other waterside restaurants in the area that don't serve such mediocre food. Go elsewhere. read more

I would give this restaurant a 3 out of 5. The food wasn't bad, but it also wasn't particularly good. I ordered the Mango Mahi ($25), described as a grilled mahi filet topped with fresh mango salsa over cilantro lime rice, served with grilled asparagus. Unfortunately, the dish didn't live up to the description. The "mango salsa" was simply cut-up mango, and the cilantro lime rice lacked any noticeable lime flavor and was quite dry. The beers on tap were underwhelming, though reasonably priced at $4-$5 each. My husband sampled three different options, and none stood out. Service was also a bit off. Our dinner order wasn't taken until after we had already received and finished our appetizer. That said, the Pretzel Sticks were the highlight of the meal--soft, warm, and served with a flavorful mustard. I'd rate those a 5 out of 5. As for the rest of the experience, even small things seemed to fall through the cracks. Getting ketchup for the fries took a while since the nearby condiment station was empty, and when our waitress went to find some, she appeared to forget what she was looking for. Rumor reel is a well known Pasadena restaurant and watering hole. We were seated (group of 6) immediately even though the place was VERY busy. The service was amazing, with our server being attentive without intruding. The food wasn't bad, with a better selection than just seafood. Parking was tough, but they had a golf cart shuttle running drivers to the back 40. I took a star off for the parking, and the food wasn't bad a tad pricey. read more

I'd recommend outdoor seating if you want good atmosphere as inside is pretty plain. We got shrimp and they were great size, easy to peel. Would definitely go back! I know this place is very popular, but I am not impressed. Being a place near the water they should have good seafood. Well , I had the special: oyster po'boy sandwich and it was not very good. I'm pretty much a seafood fanatic and have eaten seafood across the country and this was not fresh or well Made. The only two things that were impressive out of many entrées and appetizers our party had were the mac & cheese, which was excellent and the nachos, which were very good. Prices are reasonable, but I really got turned off by some of the food and the service that was average at best. read more

My alumni group (30 people) was able to hold our reunion luncheon on the deck area, thanks to the staff and Steve, the manager for the restaurant. We are deeply grateful and the food was fantastic (I personally had salmon & mac/cheese, and others in my group ordered French onion soup, cream of crab soup, salad, fish & chips, to name a few). The staff were patient and friendly with us, and my group loved having the view of the water while we ate & talked. Parking was easy & plentiful, and the restaurant is fully accessible. My first time at Rumor Reel. We dined here because we had a friend who came by boat. Unless you live in Pasadena, this is a restaurant I have never heard of and by the water. The parking lot is interesting because you park underneath a boatel. I'm sure this place is nice in the summer months because they have a large outdoor patio overlooking the water. When we got inside, I noticed the noise level was loud! We didn't have reservations and were the first ones there so they seated us in the back area. I noticed the band was setting up but didn't say anything to the hostess. I went to the bathroom and when I got back we were moved to a high top. Our friends arrived but they didn't want to sit near the band so we asked for a table in the other room. We just had to wait 10 minutes for a table. Our server Dawn was really nice and let us have separate checks. She gave us complimentary hush puppies and corn bread for the table and both were great! I ordered the shrimp salad wrap and my significant other ordered the buffalo shrimp salad. I enjoyed both of our dishes. The buffalo shrimp had a kick but was pretty tasty. The food and service were great. I gave it 4 stars due to the noise factor. read more

Let's start with ambiance. Rumor Reel offers indoor and outdoor seating. First visit, for lunch, was during the summer, so we sat outside on the deck overlooking the marina. Depending on which table you're assigned and which seat you take, your view might not be as panoramic as expected. I was stuck facing the industrious building next door. Still, the soft lapping of the waves makes for a peaceful and relaxing experience; and when I turned slightly in my seat, I could look at the boats and the waterfront homes. Second visit was in the fall, later in the evening; a bit chilly so we sat inside at the bar. A singer/songwriter was performing in the dining area. Good performer, perfect volume so you could enjoy the music but still speak to one another. I generally like bars and restaurants that are cozy, warm and dark. Rumor Reel is none of those. It has metallic decor and bright lighting. Not exactly the nautical theme I'd expected for a marina bar. The food and the people, both staff and patrons, make this restaurant a keeper. For lunch, I had Mango Mahi, grilled, with pineapple rice. Fresh and delicious. The second visit, we had appetizers, including calamari and jerk chicken skewers, and an entree of sea scallops. Not a single complaint. Well, maybe one: asparagus is supposed to be stiff enough to eat with your fingertips, not limp. Regardless, the meal was thoroughly enjoyable. The staff is friendly and efficient. Patrons seem to be mostly locals who all know each other, yet everyone made us feel welcome. It's like a marina-based Cheers bar. Went here for a group gathering and had a pretty good time. There was a lot of "Where is the waiter?" as we started wanting drinks and dinner, but other than that, the event seemed to go smoothly. Waiter easily split the checks. The Key Lime Pie crush is so delicious. My boyfriend got the "secret menu item" (advertised on one of the big screen televisions) - French Dip Burger. He ate it, but I don't think it was what he imagined it would be. Actually, I think they gave him their version of the Rodeo Burger, with onion rings and barbecue sauce. There seemed to be some additional barbecued meat on top. French dip doesn't have anything to do with barbecue, so if you're thinking you're going to get some ju, think again. We also shared the Royale with Cheese pizza - for those who don't recognize the Pulp Fiction reference, it's a cheeseburger pizza. It's quite tasty. Great crust. The restaurant property is massive, and there were several parties going on, as well as live music outside. The parking is interesting - some spots are under the boats in storage (as there is a marina nearby), but when that is filled, there's some field/grass parking. Both the accessible spots were taken (A restaurant this size really needs more than two accessible spots) so we parked in the grass and I had to wade through some serious gravel to get to the restaurant. This can be troublesome for many wheelchair users, so be warned. I don't usually frequent AA County, but even if I did I don't think I would return to this restaurant. It was nice, but there wasn't any stand out moment, food, atmosphere, etc that made me think, 'I'd come back for this.' read more

Dinner for friends birthday. Sat inside due to the weather, they put us in the back past the bar instead of in the larger room close to the water. The food was good, atmosphere not good. It was warm (I'm always cold) and there was something wrong with the lights. When the bus person came she said the lights always go bright briefly and then dim again. Will go back if we can sit outside or in the bigger room. They also appeared to have a buffet. Server never said anything about it. read more

Sunday Steak Night was disappointing. We went at 4pm for Prime Rib and they had none. If that is a possibility then the menu on the table advertising Steak Night should say the Prime Rib may not be available. I then ordered the Rib Eye and it was very thin, like the steak you get with steak and eggs. It was not Med Rare, but 1/3 Med, 1/3 Well and 1/3 fat. My wife got the Filet, which was very good but came with the wrong sides. It took the kitchen 15 min to get the correct sides out to us. And to start, the entrees came shortly after our salad arrived, so we were only half done eating the salad. First and only time we'll go Sun Night as the Kitchen staff needs a lot of training and clearly some of the menu items can run out at the end of the weekend. There is a nice ambience & the service was good. There is outdoor seating & a bar overlooking the water. I think this would be a good place if you want some drinks & a snack. My husband said his Nashville Hot boneless wings were fine, but not hot (spicy) as expected. One of our group said the fries tasted like the grease needed changing but his other food was "ok." My rigatoni bake was not bad, but needed more sauce & more flavoring in the sauce. The garlic baguette was a 4" portion of a very hard, dry, tasteless baguette. First, I must say, the waterfront and the atmosphere, are wonderful. Recently went with family and we enjoyed sitting outside and spending time here. The service was wonderful as well. Nice people work here. The food however, was very much not what I had hoped for. The mussels were good, although i believe were previously frozen based on the amount of shells falling apart into the food. I ordered lobster on a stick and it was terrible. I could not eat it. It was greasy, and very salty. The crabby patty was by far the worse attempt at a crab cake ever. If you go for drinks and atmosphere, by all means, please go and enjoy. I just wanted to leave a few words. I had a group of 40+ people this past Saturday outside at the picnic tables. Megan and Terry took care of all of us. They were such awesome servers and handled all of us. We are Southern High Alumni (South Baltimore) celebrating 40 years from graduating. We had the very best time. Food is great with a very inventive chef and crew. Always coming up with delicious, different entrees and apps. The bar is well stocked with almost anything you want. Including "Pickle shots". The bartenders are friendly and funny. The wait staff keeps your food coming and are attentive. The rest of the staff keeps your table clean and can get you incidentals. Best part? They support many fantastic, local bands with varying musical interests. We were in town for a wedding and got in too late for the rehearsal dinner so we were on our own. Rumor Reel was nearby and sounded good so we decided to give it a try. We decided to sit in the bar since there was a long wait. We split a seafood Cobb salad and some oysters on the half shell (they were on special Friday after 4pm). The salad with Old Bay ranch dressing was excellent as were the oysters. I don't think I've ever had faster service. As I said, the restaurant was busy so we didn't expect to get our food so quickly. Stumbled across Rumor Reel this past summer and it is now one of our new favorite places to go to in the Annapolis region. It is a hidden gem. The food is delicious. We came in for lunch on a Saturday. The weather was nice so we sat outside. We enjoyed the casual atmosphere, but the food was just ok. I ordered the fish and chips for $22 and was disappointed that it only came with one filet, a small portion of fries and no coleslaw. We also ordered some wings which were $16 for only 8 wings. This marina-based restaurant was about to be packed and we were glad when our table was re-routed away from an incoming reservation of 45. With temps in the low 80s (in march!), this was obviously going to be "opening day" in terms of crowds for what is likely a perpetually busy place. We ordered some steamed shrimp to tide us over while waiting for drinks. The shrimp arrived, hot to peel but low on the seasoning. When the crushes arrived, they went down easy but more so because they were liquid in nature and not particularly flavorful which meant it was better not to get another one. The dual crabcakes were very good and suited the soon-to-be summer vibe. Served with broccoli and real mashed potatoes, it was a good choice. The seafood Cobb salad also did not disappoint though it had some similarly under-spiced and very cold shrimp. The wee scallops were also highly chilled which also masked any flavor they could offer to the melange. But the portions were good and you did not walk away hungry. A slammed kitchen is a slammed kitchen. The outside deck was massive and you could tell once geared up for the season, they knew how to do things right for a nosh and some beers. The divide-and-conquer approach inside worked well and plates were always whisked away, food separately brought table side by runners, and the waitstaff very efficient and our waitress a very good sport about everything. The crowd overwhelmed the staff that day but worth a return visit. A stronger drink would perhaps have made for a longer one. read more

Arrived on a Friday night and was provided 45min wait for an inside table. Restairant wasnt that busy and figured it was due to short staff. Ended up waiting an hour, got seated and waited another 10 min for a server. A nice server that walked by finally asked if we've been waited on and took our table. I've been here once before with a couple of friends. I got the crab cake sandwich. It wasn't bad, but not great. It had a bit too much filler for my liking. Bring by the water, the atmosphere is great. My second visit was on a Sunday afternoon for our daughters birthday brunch. My daughter got a chicken finger kids meal. She enjoyed it. My son got a chicken Caesar salad, which came out warm. He barely touched it. My husband got the swordfish w/ mashed potatoes and Mac. The gosh was very bland and had very little flavor. The sides were pretty good. I got the Buffalo cod bites and a dozen of oysters. The oysters were not served over ice and came out room temperature. I was VERY disappointed. The server, on both occasions, was very nice. The place was clean and not overly packed. I really wanted to like Rumor Reel. Unfortunately, I highly doubt I would return due to the oysters and mediocre food. read more

The brunch menu is delicious and not too expansive that it's hard to choose or that the food is subpar.
