I'm just getting back into a fitness routine, and needed a new pair of shoes to walk and jog in. Walked into Runners Roost and was greeted with a warm welcome. Emily analyzed my gait and took out at least 7 pairs of shoes for me to try on. She was very attentive and patient with me. I finally found 2 pair! This was the best and most informed shoe buying experience I ever had. First, there was an event going on that day that the staff was preparing for and I never felt rushed. Second, I don't remember who helped me but after watching me run and analyzing the video, I was given 5-10 pairs of shoes to choose from. I was able to try each pair on, run for a bit, and narrow down my choices. Third, the shoes that the staff recommended were brought out from a broad price range and I never felt pressured to choose the more expensive shoes. I will definitely go back. read more

Awesome customer service!!!! I have been to several other running stores, and never get the attention that I received at this Runner's Roost. I am always greeted at the door, and am immediately asked how I can be helped. The staff is so knowledgeable, and seems to genuinely care about my experience. As an avid runner, it is so important to me that I get accurate information about the gear I am looking at purchasing. Along with the great team, this store also has gait analysis machines to help me find the perfect shoe. I will not be going back to any other running store--Runner's Roost is amazing! read more

There was only one reason for me to make the much dreaded rush-hour trip down Colorado boulevard on an otherwise lovely evening: my knees were aching and could not handle another run without new running shoes and this is supposedly THE place to go for just such a dilemma. As the salesperson approached, I made it clear that I have serious knee/foot issues and would be needing expert advice. He reassured me that he was the man for the job. Well, he wasn't. He listened to my concerns but gave me mostly generic answers and mmm-hmms. When he selected shoes for me, there didn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to why he picked the shoes he did. Once I had them on, he watched me walk in them but did not offer to put me on the treadmill for gait analysis, even after I hinted my desire to do just that. Eventually, I found a pair that felt comfortable enough and, not wanting to prolong the experience, I decided to purchase them. Well, after my first few minutes of actual running in them, it was clear that these were not the right shoes for me. This was a serious let down after I sought out this store (and paid the higher price that goes with it) for their "expert "advice. read more

Colorado Blvd Runner's Roost is the WORST! I have been to this Runners Roost several times over the past three years - I replace my running shoes about every 4 months. Each time I have gone the service has gotten a little worse. Despite the fact that I have been in the store about 6 or 7 times, I have never been offered the service of having my stride analyzed. I have also noticed that several of the sales people I have encountered have been pretty snobby and condescending. Because it is not just one experience or one sales person, I am left to assume that this condescending attitude is either passed down from the management or is pervasive throughout the organization. Since it is unlikely that the majority of customers served at the Runners Roost are a. sponsored, or b. pro athletes, I suggest an attitude adjustment amongst the staff in order to better serve the needs of the majority of their customer base - i.e. a beginning or intermediate level runners. read more

After spending the summer renting wetsuits at this runners roost location, I regularly asked about buying one. Throughout the summer they said they NO they no longer sold the used wetsuits. During my last rental I thought I would ask again, this time they said yes. I told them I wanted the medium I had been renting all summer and they said perfect it is yours. We exchanged several calls because the wetsuit was rented out for one last weekend so we can't sell it to you until next week...This week had come with no call so I called to find out if I could pick up the wetsuit today and they said sorry they have already sold it, saying selling these suits is "crazy" with an I am sorry but there is nothing I can do... Terrible disorganization, aweful customer service with no offers considerations or discounts... Gratefully there is amazing customer service at other local Denver establishments that want my continued business. read more
