I literally followed the pavement, which was helpful because there were signs that told you the distance and which way to go. I needed some time to clear my mind before I started my day & it was so pleasant to be surrounded by such pretty views. There were other people walking, running & biking the trail. Being that it is May, the weather was hot & humid however I made sure to arrive early in the morning before it got too hot. Even though there were restaurants in the surrounding area, the whole entire trail was maintained & clean. I highly recommend visiting this trail. It was really beautiful!

I was…read moreable to parlay a business trip into an extended weekend and having never been to Texas decided to scratch Texas Largemouth fishing off my bucket-list. Setting up my outing was very easy. Ben was very responsive and even though I was setting things up close to my trip he was able to accommodate me. There was some nasty weather forecast so since I had the whole weekend available we decided to play it by ear and make the call to fish the day before. We fished Joe Pool Lake and left the boat dock at sunrise, it was a chilly 33 degrees that morning! We hit some of Ben's favorite spots and it wasnt long before I got the first fish in the boat. I didnt catch any huge fish that day, but I did catch numbers. Long story short we were laughing so much and having such a great time I decided to extend my half-day charter to a full day (thank you Ben for accommodating!) We fished well past sunset as Ben was determined to get me a big bass... alas it wasnt meant to be. Ben has a clean bass-boat in great condition, well organized tackle and higher-end rods and reels. He was very gracious in getting me re-rigged, and unsnagging me while handing me a new rod to use in the meantime. He was able to accommodate my rod/reel preferences as well (spinning, bait-casting, etc.) We fished exclusively artificial lures my trip and he was open me to bringing my own gear also. I am planning on taking my teenage son down to fish some Texas bass and will definitely be seeing Ben's guide services when I do. Thanks Ben!

Six months ago, I met the president of TFO at a fly fishing event. He was so informative about his company and invited me to come by for a tour of his company. This last Friday I took him up on his offer and he gave me a quick tour. What a fun, unpolished tour of the company! Rick, the president of TFO is so down to earth and into his products! I love the fact and was also pointed out that they do not put a great deal of money in to their building, or their work environment. They would rather try to save the end user / customer money in their products. You just have to love products that are top quality and the folks are trying to help save you money, while carrying and supporting top products! To note: Rick, he showed me the whole warehouse and different departments with being very open and honest. Could a fly fishing guy not fall in love with this company and their products! Once I had entered the front doors waiting for Rick, another guy opened the front door. He stated that he wanted a catalog, and he and his son had just returned from Colorado and for the last two weeks catching trout of different species with their new TFO fly rods! He was just grinning from ear to ear with his last family travel, heck who wouldn't! Loved seeing the measuring board for show the different bends of the fly rods with different weights! A person could see very quickly the different arc's with the rods. Another highlight was checking out the warranty area! If part of a rod was busted for some reason, they could just replace the one part and ship it back to you pretty quickly! I was even shown Edge rods and the Alps reel seats which looked fantastic and well designed! Rick had also pointed out some of the small details where their equipment stood apart, like the use of less threading to help make the rod even lighter! Love the fact that so many of their employees are just as excited about TFO! TFO, keep up the great work!
