I am so happy I made the drive out there to come to this store. I was recently at the Human Race and was very disappointed on how I was treated. I called Running for Kicks and talked to I guy (I can't remember his name) I believe it started with a "D" . From that conversation, I just made the drive. They were so kind all of the employees (not pushing) I was so pleased. They knew what happened and that I would possibly be stuck with shoes from the other store and they were understanding and did not push me into anything. They tested me on 3 different shoes and did not charge me like the other store. I walked out of there with no shoes and no guilt! I did walk out with a pair of socks! I would have purchased my shoes from there BUT I was stuck with a pair from the Human Race and they would not refund my money. Running for Kicks even sized me better than Human Race. I am so thrilled that I was treated kindly. I will be back and my recommendation to my friends will be this store! Thank you! read more

I am a true runner I ran in college, and I really do believe that for the most part you get what you pay for in shoes. Unless you are buying nike, That is usually a hit or miss. And a rule of thumb is any shoe that needs marketing for it probably isnt the best shoe for you. The people her analyze your running gait, etc and really help you choose the best shoe for YOU. They must have a great hiring process because I have been coming here for YEARS and everybody is so nice here and really give you nice tips on running etc. You really need a good shoe every 500 miles so pretty much it is true that if you have foot, knee or back pain, a simple solution might be just to change your shoes. Nonetheless, I love this place. They even have group runs on Monday nights. What store does that? I think the people here are genuine and nice and are really just here to help everyone. Amazing store and staff. Historically I'd go to whichever was store was close at hand or what would be cheap and each time I'd pour over stock and find that "okay" shoe and my feet would regret it later. Then I found RFK and was blown away from the personal touches AND they recorded what we found to be my perfect shoe (and it was!). Fast forward, my shoes have served their purpose and I needed to replace the worn shoes. I walked in, we spoke a few minutes, with Mel who verified my size and came back with three shoes, the first was the newest version of my latest shoe and two others he wanted me to "just try" in case they felt better. My wife took me here to buy a pair of walking shoes. I had NO idea there was that much to know about shoes! Colleen was our sales person and she was the BEST! What a sweet and very knowledgeable young lady. I was personally fitted for a great pair of shoes which have been perfect for my distance walks. I've been shopping at RFK since 2007. First time I walked in, I bought a new pair of shoes & a Polar watch with a foot pod. That was back when gps watches were new & somewhat unreliable. Mel set up the watch for me himself so I could use it as soon as I left. I've been a customer ever since. Love the store, the staff, and especially what Mel does for the community (both running & local). They never get mad that my little guy is bouncing off the walls or that my teen daughter has to try on every shoe in the store. Great store that treats you like family. read more

As I prepare for my 39.3 mile Avon Walk for Breast Cancer I have not been able to find a shoe that is for me. I had bought a pair but after a week my feet were killing me. I took the shoes back to Rumning for Kicks no questions asked Colleen was the young lady who helped me I was so impressed by her knowledge and kindness she spent an hour with me trying on shoes, we found the one my size not in stock she said she will call me when they come in. As soon as I walked through the door a woman named Kristen greeted me. I needed a pair of walking shoes for brisk walking. She really knew a lot about the technology of each shoe as it pertained to walking. How each shoe fit and would grip the sidewalks for my walking. Also gave me tips on my walking form. Mel and his associates are very knowledgeable, and want you to have shoes that are going to help with any pain or conditions that you may have. Running for kicks is a wonderful place to go for shoes. They are a little expensive but it is totally worth it. I have problems with my feet and the shoes they recommend are really good. I have heel spurs and stand on my feet for 8 hrs. a day. With the shoes they gave me I feel no pain. They have a nice selection too. Not only do they sell shoes but they also sell clothes for running. I love this place. read more

Fast and friendly service. Very clean and organized store. This dicks is very much involved with local football and baseball groups and they give local communities coupons at the beginning of baseball and football seasons. Always coupons in local newspapers as well. Plenty of parking and usually not that crowded. read more
