I hate writing reviews this low and kick myself for not checking yelp before stopping here. If you were like us, and forgot to fill-up your tank in San Bernardino before heading up to Big Bear, and saw this place (Yes, it's the first gas station you see - prime real estate) and stopped, you realize a few things. You CANNOT use the bathroom WITHOUT making a purchase. The employee is rude and does not explain anything or seem to care much. The gas price is EXTREMELY high, considering VALERO was $0.30 cheaper and only a few feet down the road (yes, we were kicking ourselves in the butt). READ the reviews! There is a reason this place has low stars, and I am not sure how they are still in business, other than yes, they get people like us who did not check to see what gas stations were available before stopping. We knew better when we left Big Bear. Also, Big Bear was almost $1 cheaper than this place. SAVE YOUR MONEY!!! GO Somewhere else. read more

Has rats and nothing works there pumps don't work right and they over charge everything

The owner is an extremely greedy man who overcharges. The gas is about.30/gallon more than Rimforest or Blue Jay. Honestly, the least expensive gas station I've found has been in Crestline. Anyway back to this horribly overpriced and dishonest gas station. Next I asked how much for 1plastic cup ,$1.64!!Next he asks if I want a bag, keep in mind every other store I've been to in So.Cal charges .10/bag this is in accordance with the law that was passed years ago requiring stores to charge for bage. This crook charges .27, he charges .17 over the state law requirement. Anyway I was in a rush, I didn't expect to be fleeced but I was completely ripped off! I'll NEVER be back. I hope it was worth it to the greedy owner to lose a customer and get such a negative review over a few cents. I am posting this so people know there are other options and you don't have to be taken advantage of. read more

Needed to get gas to get to work today and saw the wife had taken the car I had left my wallet in. Had a 10 dollar bill and ten dollars in quarters. the cashier would not take the money, said the owner wouldnt allow it. I went down the street to valero and the cashier gladly took my money with a smile. In addition, this place wont turn on the air pumps if you dont pay for it, which i dont believe is even legal. horrible prices on gas and food items too. wish theyd get new ownership that cares about the community read more

Rude, wouldn't let people use bathroom unless they were paying customers. Then have a $10 minimum with debit card, but has a cash machine to charge you to get your own money out. Wait to go up the street for real customer service. read more

Pumps dont work. Employee Denise who claims to be the manager was extremely nasty. When i mentioned this was the second day in a row one of there pumps were not working, she replied" well no one else is having a problem" and continued on to tell me " I can go to another gas station." When i told her i did not appreciate her insulting remarks as a matter of fact 3 pumps are disfunctional, she continued to mouth off and be confrontational compared to Chad who I originally complained to and kindly explained tbey were having issues with the pumps. The problem started with the loud mouth Denise with her unwelcomed remarks. She needs to be removed from her position this is not how you represent a company or handle complaints. She is not qualified to be working as a manager miss handling complaints. If she is not fired as anyone would be for this misshandling of complaints, i will take my business else where. read more

Even though you have to buy something to use the restroom, the female employee was extremely nice and I appreciated the good customer service from her. A good stop if you need to pick up and go. I recommend that this place gets a better selection for snacks. read more

I'll make this short and sweet. If you need chains (or gas for that matter), don't rely on this guy. He absolutely gouges at a time when people need chains to go up the hill. $300 for normal size SUV chains. I couldn't believe it. Good thing I went next door to the the ski rental place (Blauer's) and got them for $134. Put it this way, if this guy will rip you off on chains, what else will he do? read more

Should be zero stars! Most overpriced 'mini mart' in, probably, all of Southern California. Way overpriced gas, and just about everything inside is double the price of anywhere else. GO TO VALERO; it's only 1 mile away. Even the employees know the prices are RIDICULOUS!! read more

Will not go here again!! I just had a terrible experience here. I'm done and will now take my several hundred dollars per month of business elsewhere. Their pump was running extremely slow and then didn't shut off. As a result gas poured out all over the ground and the side of my car. I called out the attendant who shrugged his shoulders, said nothing and walked back inside. I yelled to him, so you don't care? Two times. He turned around and said what do you want me to say. Then I said how about sorry! He said sarcastically sorry and went in. I then yelled I guess you don't want my business anymore!!! read more

Stopped on our way up the mountain and asked if we needed chains. We are inexperienced in driving up the mountain and wanted to make sure we were being safe. They told us we absolutely need them and they are required to go any further. Charged us $220 for 2 chains for a Ford Escape. Went across the street to put them on and the patrol officer stopped us and stated we should not put them on, as unnecessary in the current weather and would mess our tires up. We checked with another local shop and gas station and then confirmed that we did not need. We attempted to return the chains with the receipt and they laughed in our face saying there are no returns. Nowhere on the receipt said that there were no returns (nor was it verbally communicated). We explained the situation and that we we misinformed and just wanted to get our money back. 4 employees- woman with red hair, tall skinny man, young man, and slight elder man. All of them gathered and told us too bad and used threatening tone of voice and aggressive manner. Woman stated "you'll have to speak with the mananger", when we said yes, we'd like to speak with him, they told us no and laughed at us. We finally persuaded one employee to go the back to get the manager and he promptly came out saying the manager refused to speak with us. We asked them to be fair and understand where we were coming from and they continued to laugh at us. Finally we felt cornered and said we would write a negative review and the employee said, quote "go ahead we'll just remove it if you do". I am writing this review in acceptance that I I will not be getting my money back but hope to prevent someone else from being victim of the same scan and being treated so degradingly and disrespectfully. Side note, if you ever need to know if you need snow chains, ask the patrol officers in organge pickups, not the local gas station trying to make a quick buck (or 200) read more

Gas prices are extremely high & they charge for air which is against the law!! I went inside after getting gas & told him I need air he said $1.00, I said what you can't charge for air...I just got gas & asked you to turn on the air pump. He said yes I can charge & its $1.00. I said I'll be reporting you & he will never have my business again!! Absolutely ridiculous & btw I'm a local & have been since 1989, do not give this place any business & please spread the word. While going to Big Bear there were signs that said you needed to have chains in your car or else you'll get cited. To avoid citations, I stopped by this 76 station to ask about chains. It turns out many people did the same. The man that helped me told me they would cost 199.00 and after taxes and an additional rubber band that he said I needed, the total was 233.00. Since I had to buy them to get to the top, I bought them with out a question. Once I got to the top while feeling uneasy about the purchase, I checked around and I found the same chains as low as 86.00. I get that they have to make a profit, but that seems excessive. If you need chains, be ready to pay a super super premium if you stop here. Kind of seems like they're taking advantage of the situation. Also, there gas prices for 87 was 3.30 while it was 2.77 at the top of the mountain. read more

This gas station is on the Big Bear freeway (I think it's the 30 freeway). I was actually surprised at their low gas prices. It was the same as the cheapest gas station where I live. I was definitely surprised and grateful :) There's nothing frivolous about this gas station. It's just the basic store and its station. read more

The owner was petty when I asked him to turn on the air compressor. He said , "You don't have quarters". I responded that in CA air is suppose to be free. He said only if you buy gas. That may be true but extremely poor customer relations which lost him a customer. The gas is normally 25 to 45 cents more per gallon than in the valley so avoid going there. read more

Disrespectful! I went there with my roommates and we are deaf. Happen in late night that guy old man China. He tried advantage my money it's was price $16 but he is change price is $17 Doesnt bother me I use atm card put its was declined so I use my cash $10 gave to man it's suppose $7 with cents left but he keep cost me more add $8 with cent. I told him forget it I'm not going to pay all those item I just need give me back $10 cash end up he is yelling on us and not write with paper we are trying to be nice write down said please can give me money $10 he is like throw away cash back not manner way.
