Ordered an Eskimo Eskape 2600 2-Person Flip Shack and some accessories at the Canandaigua, NY store which is almost 3-hours away. They were the closest Runnings that had these units in stock per their website. I received an email that part of the order was ready. I waited until I received a 2nd email indicating everything was available. I was well withing the time frame before they would cancel the order and put the items back in stock. When I arrived, the Eskimo Eskape 2600 2-Person Flip Shack was not available. They said that they only had one unit and not two and gave it to the person who ordered it in January. I don't believe them and think they just sold the unit I purchased and paid for instead of separating it. They told me my unit was "in transit". I was going to cancel the order and asked them if it is in transit, could they just ship it to the Gloversville Runnings. They said they could, but it would take another two weeks. Remember, this is an expensive seasonal item and can only be used for a short period of time each year. Normally when businesses screw up at this level, they offer some sort of compensation to make up for the trouble they caused. Runnings did not. At this point I am considering never shopping at RUNNINGS again. I am just so disgusted with them. My guess is they'll screw up the shipment to Gloversville RUNNINGs. read more

I came in looking for a part for my weedeater. I was given the attention and time to figure out a solution to the what I needed. In the end, Josh who was looking after me, took my weedeater back to the shop and they found a used part that worked with my weedeater, replaced it and did not charge me for their time , nor the used part. handicap, disabled bring your own elictric cart. the employs are rehursed to say sorry no electric carts they are are all broke. almost believable except there are no wheel chair carts. plenty of handicap parking apparently due to local codes certently store management does not want or care that handicap people veterans or otherwise shop there. if you go therre shopping you can get a great handicap parking but bring a friend you can sit in car while they shop. i wouldn't know about value turned around at door sat in car. read more

This Store has gone Downhill Fast!!!!!!! Was looking for and advertised item from the flier. After looking for about 10 minutes, I was finally able to find 1 associate to ask if the item was available. The associate gave a little bit of an attitude when I asked Her if the item was available and where it might be. She called for assistance on her walkie but no one would answer her. Is there no Management running this store?????? She finally said, " Well, if you looked outside and inside and didn't find it then we don't have it!" There is ALWAYS a skeleton crew in this store EVERY time I go in there. No one to ask questions or to assist! I have worked as a retail manager for well over 20 years and you do not run a store like this! Clueless associates with obviously no training from the management or support!!! I guess I will have to take my business to Country Max or Walmart. At least there I can find what I'm looking for or have someone there to be able to ask!!! read more

Went there because the website said they had many pairs of the shoes I wanted. When I got there not only was there no shoes but no one working either. Went to the sporting goods section to stock up on ammunition in preparation for the new background checks for ammunition and the service was great from the guys at the counter. The associates were so knowledgeable about their products. Myself and an associate struck up a conversation. (I will not mention his name) and I asked him if they were going to compensate them for the increased workload and he told me they haven't heard anything about compensation. Went to buy my dad a new chainsaw today for Christmas and I've never felt so disrespected by an employee of a business. The sales associate decided to "help" me without me even asking for his assistance and proceeded to talk down to me and man-splain about saws. Not only did he get in a full out argument with me about which brand he thought was better he also clearly made other customers around us feel awkward by raising his voice...... little did he know I'm a professional Sawyer for a logging company out west. I guess just because I'm a female doesn't mean I know less then a sales associate about a tool I use every day. We come here about once a month. We get our usual odds and ends and check out what they have for the season. This place is good for all of your outdoor needs. Whether it be camping, hiking, or hunting. There is a section for canning and preserving. There's a section for outdoor equipment. There's a section for snacks. There's a section for all your pet needs. As well as a section for your automobile. This place has a little bit of everything. We love coming when they have the baby birds. It's a nice change from the other stores. read more

Went into Runnings today and it was a disaster. We stood in the customer service line for 20 minutes because she didn't know how to find the person in front of us order. So instead of saying anything all the other cashier just stood there in a gaze. I walked around to find someone to help us and my husband called the store. So I found someone and she said she doesn't know if she can find out if a lawn mower was in stock. Yes we checked online and it said in stock. So here we were on hold on the phone, employees chatting to each other all over and waiting in line with a clueless service rep. Finally someone answered and check and said it wasn't physically in stock but there was a comparable alternative. We looked at it and proceeded to the empty cashiers and was told that we need to go to the Stihl counter to cash out. Guess what CRICKETS, no one was there haha. So we stood for 10 minutes and decided to look the model up. It was horrible, not comparable, horrible reviews. Then we decided, why would we order from a place who didn't want our business? No one to talk too, no one knows anything. The employees we saw were packing T-shirt's away discussing which would look better on them. Like we felt like it was some prank of a joke store. Left and ordered from tractor supply. Lost a $400 sale. HORRIBLE customer service. read more

A very disappointing experience at Runnings in Canandaigua, NY today. There is a sign requesting customers wear masks in the store and to see Customer Service if the customer needs one. There were more customers without masks than there were with them. Everyone around me was not social distancing or wearing masks while I was in line. Customers were not standing on lines spacing people 6 ft apart. No one was enforcing the rules. Managers at other stores in our area do. The store is definitely attracting clientele that has the same attitude that management appears to have. Even if management doesn't believe in the rules it's still their job to enforce them for all of the store's customers, not just the ones it seems to be catering to. Additionally, the line was long to check out and the store did not seem clean. I will not be returning. read more

I was in today for the Bucket special. We always enjoy our trips to runnings because of the diversity of merchandise, always seeing something you can't find in other stores. However, I really decided this time that I can't let it go by without making a comment on the condition of the store. The bathroom was an absolute disaster. The first stall with a big "out of order" sign, and the first sink was covered up in paper with a bucket under the plumbing. It had obviously been there longer than a few days. The general condition of the store is just plain dirty. Our cashier couldn't have looked more like that was the last place she wanted to be. No greeting, no smile. Sorry to have interrupted her day. Last but not least, the outside parking lot is covered with trash and weeds. C'mon, Runnings, you're obviously making a profit in there, send one of your employees out to pull the weeds and clean it up, hire a plumber for goodness' sake, and have the employees standing around shooting the breeze pick up a broom. If the parking lot is the "landlord's" responsibility, call them up and raise a little hell. Won't be rushing back soon. read more

Very surprised that most staff and customers were NOT wearing masks. I did not see any hand sanitizer stations. When I asked one masked cashier why most staff and cashiers were not masked she stated, "I don't know about any of that". There was tape on the floor at checkout to advise social distancing but no one enforcing it. Most of the staff and customers were NOT wearing masks. Very poor. Too bad because I like the merchandise but the management needs to wake up and take some action in that store. read more

They have many high grade selections of dog food, and are pet friendly which is great. The store is usually dirty and poorly zoned. I have yet to have an employee greet me. There never seems to be anyone around if you have questions. The cashier's just stand around up front and socialize. I will still shop there for the dog food though. read more

This store has some good products but at a high price , the staff I s rarely available in most departments, and if they are they have no idea what you are looking for , they just tell you to look around, This store is poorly organized, overpriced, if an item is clearly damaged they might give you 5% off, things that are on sale are in very small amounts and if you get a rain check , feel lucky if you ever get called on it , there are many complaints and returns about the quality and garuntee of the boots sold, just had to put it out there read more
