My trainers were so worn out. I feel like I just purchased them but I've been using them for my runs and walks and knew it was time for a new pair. I walked over to Fleet Feet this afternoon to inquire about new insoles and shoes. Fleet Feet Plano provided the BEST service!!! We did a few measurements and reviewed my analysis then went over several options. The shoe I've ran in for years, a different model and a shoe with a larger toe box I'd wanted to try. Once selecting a new model we moved onto several insole options. I'm a Brooks girly through and through and stuck with this brand but a different model this go around. New city, new shoes, new model, new insoles! She's ready! Maybe in the coming months I can squeak out an overall 1st 2nd or 3rd haha ;) If you're in need of a great new shoe, you absolutely should come into this store. Highly recommend. This one is on the smaller side but still has a wide selection of products, although not as many duplicates on display. They do have frequent social runs as a bonus and even hosted a neat quarterly event with raffles from different health/fitness/restaurant vendors and a run with Hoka shoe demos. I always get my insoles from Fleet Feet due to their comfort, personalization, and durability and purchased one when they had a promotion. Unfortunately the staff member did not put the correct discount in and overcharged me, but after realizing and going back, they were able to fix it, although their tone in doing so suggested an attitude. The staff were very friendly when I was making the purchase, so I'm hoping it was a one time interaction. Overall great outreach with the running community and opportunities to try new products. I purchased a pair of Brooks sneakers from Bear Creek Running Company in Keller back in January. I…read morewill say this upfront -- they were probably the most comfortable sneakers I've ever owned. That said, in less than 90 days, a hole worn through the toe area. Full disclosure: I do walk about 36 miles a month. I went into the store and showed the damage. The two young men working there at the time were twin brothers. They actually suggested I use duct tape to cover the hole. Honestly, hearing that regarding a $145 premium pair of Brooks sneakers was pretty shocking. My wife had given me Mark, the owner's, contact information. I called him, and to his credit, while he was not too pleasant on the phone, he did seem concerned. He asked me to come back to the store on the day he was going to be there and said he'd work something out regarding a return or credit. When I arrived at the retail store to return my torn sneakers, a nice young man named Jonathan helped me. They didn't have another pair of Brooks available, which honestly I was hesitant to buy again anyway after this experience. He then brought out a pair of black New Balance shoes that were actually more expensive than the Brooks. I explained that Mark had said they would work something out regarding the torn sneakers. Jonathan walked to the back, spoke to Mark, then came back and told me they would only give me 50% credit -- and they had to keep the original shoes. I asked if I could at least keep them to use as yard shoes since they were only offering half credit, and he said no, he could not do that because they would be returning the shoes to the manufacturer. So I declined the New Balance shoes and left. Here's the part that really stands out: I called Brooks customer service directly. Patrick R., a Brooks running specialist, simply asked for the numbers on the tongue of the shoe. No photos. No argument. No hassle. Brooks immediately agreed to send me a replacement pair based purely on customer service and standing behind their brand. What truly bothers me is this: The store most likely could have returned the damaged shoes to Brooks themselves and received full credit/replacement exactly like I did, yet they only offered me 50% credit while trying to steer me into a different, more expensive shoe that wasn't even close to the style I originally purchased. Mark, here's a little advice:When you operate a local retail business in a community like Keller, Texas, and you carry premium brands that stand behind their products, your store should do the same. Shame on Bear Creek Running Company for the customer service I received. People deserve to know the difference between a company that stands behind its customers and one -- Bear Creek Running Company -- that doesn't.

I need access to running supplies and accessories as well as running attire. Here are my recent experiences: I came in for shoes and they were understaffed and sent me away. Twice. I came in for running nutrition and they focused on shoe fittings and I had to wait for a few dollar cash purchase. They recently eliminated the discount for being part of the local running club. And they mismanage the national program. That's if you can use it when you are turned away. This is a detriment to the national program which has deadlines on when you can use their loyalty rewards. Being turned away cost me my loyalty rewards. The national program refused to renew them and told me to ask the to comp it. Ugh. So overall, I would like to see Fleet Feet McKinney make some changes that improve the experience.
