We loved it. I am so used to a "fancier" spot such as Kings at North Hills, but I would come back here over Kings now that I have been! Everyone that worked there was friendly. The space is huge, and they have many lanes. You don't feel like you are on top of each other, which is nice. I believe it was about $30 for all of us to play two games/get shoes, which is not bad at all! They have a huge arcade type space with plenty of games and even a small ride that mimics the Himalaya at the N.C. State Fair! You can play games, earn tickets, and they have a full force prize booth! It's pretty cool! There is an incredibly extensive food menu, and they have decent drink options as well; beer, wine, soda, juice, water, etc. The only food we got were the chicken tenders, and although frozen I actually asked the woman the brand. These were some of the best chicken tenders I have ever had and did not seem frozen at all. Eager to try some new foods next time! We are already planning our next trip back!

There are a nice mix of experienced bowlers and newbs on the weekends, so it won't be too embarrassing if you blow. Do not try to go on a weekday anywhere near league night, they will unapologetically tell you that you are SOL.

The electronic scoring and automatic bumper bowling are convenient features and staff is always at the ready when a slow-pitched ball from a little one doesn't quiiite make it all the way. Little Mister is a fan of the French toast and you have the option of ordering it with either cinnamon and sugar or powdered sugar. Well, I suppose you could order it without any sugar at all since you can dip it right into the glorious liquid sugar called maple syrup. Or maybe it is high fructose corn syrup that tastes enough like maple syrup to pass with flying colors. The nachos are sufficiently okay. They get soggy under the cheese, and the chicken is flavorful but nothing to write home about. The potato skins are great dipped in sour cream and you can order them without bacon if you prefer. There is also an arcade that can swiftly devour your funds. Many of the games offer points that can be redeemed for treasures in the arcade store. Ultimately, you can spend a bundle of cash to win enough points for a tootsie roll. I'm exaggerating. But not too much. There are games like Wicked Tuna where you can test your virtual fishing finesse, or Jurassic park where you can blow virtual raptors into oblivion. When we got there, we were greeted and got set up immediately. We were given protective pants that covered your shoes and a protective top that had a hood. There was also glasses, gloves, and hair ties available, so if you're afraid of getting dirty, DONT BE! The spinning itself is very simple and to the point! Mix your colors, place them on the canvas, and spin! The hardest thing is coming up with a cool design, but we were able to get it right with our second canvas. At the end, we had the option of taking our wet canvas to go in a pizza box, using their dryer for an extra charge or leaving it until we were ready to pick up. This was really fun, and I would definitely do it again!

Could not find a a staff member in sight. had to get a stranger to fix the gun issue. the referee was clearly not trained. We were all Red. how are you to know which team is which. A hour into our 2 hr reservation they put everyone who was there on one course. 32 Ppl. Are you kidding me!!! they only let us play 2 courses. We will never return here. I don't blame the staff, Im sure they did the best they could. I do blame whomever took all these reservations and didn't make sure you were properly staffed.

While I lay in a crumpled mess in a shallow foxhole, trying to work my knee back to full functionality. But it wasn't Black River Paintball's fault, just my old body... For those of you who enjoy paintball, Black River is a local field just south of Raleigh about 45 minutes. They run a decent operation. Check-in is pretty easy, you do the liability form online and get a punch card for access to the field. Watch a safety video (goggles on all the time, as well as your gun condom off the field), grab your gun, face shield and load up on some paintballs. Get your gun chronographed for speed (under 285 fps) and you're ready to go. We played on two of the four fields, one speedball and one more typical wooded. Pretty much elimination without a capture the flag operation. The speedball field is pretty cool, loaded with forts and gun slots, junked cars and other cover. Plenty big for 50 people or so. The wooded course was also decent with a small pond and bridge-fort area, a large space for over 50. And the crowd of course is important, Black River had a lot of kids, some families but everyone was pretty cool and friendly even if they may have been a bit hardcore. But we all played fair which makes a difference. Didn't have too many complaints outside of the fact that they didn't use armbands so there was some randomness in knowing who the enemy was. The equipment was in varied condition but overall in decent shape. And the guns, well they're about as accurate as the person on the trigger. But it was a lot of fun for all even if I may be limping around this morning. And to the dude I cut down with my friendly paintball fire, sorry! But you were facing the wrong way...

I have been coming to this skating rink since I was a child, so it's definitely a nostalgic place…read morefor me. Unfortunately, my most recent experience with the rental rollerblades and roller skates was disappointing. On Sunday (8-23-26), my brother and I had to exchange our rentals three times because they were so uncomfortable. The first two pairs of rollerblades I received had front wheels that were badly worn down. You could tell the wheels hadn't been rotated or maintained properly to keep them evenly worn. This caused my ankles and feet to hurt while skating. The third pair of rollerblades ended up causing even more problems and left me with a blister on my foot. I really think the rink needs to update and properly maintain its rental skates and rollerblades. I understand that rental equipment gets a lot of use, but customers should still be able to skate comfortably and safely. I know I'll eventually have to invest in my own skates, but until then, I hope the rink takes a closer look at its rental equipment. On the positive side, the DJ was great, and I still enjoyed being back at a place that holds a lot of childhood memories for me. I just hope the rental equipment gets some much-needed attention.
