The best thing about the Wondercon was the look on my nephew's face when he saw Batman, while…read morewearing his Batman shirt (with cape), Batman beanie, Batman jacket and holding his Batman costumed Monkey. Yeah, the kid likes Batman. He's 3 years old, so it was a blend between pee in your pants excitement over seeing your favorite superhero ever and being terrified of someone dressed up as your favorite superhero. He was scared of the Alien and Storm Trooper costumes, how do you explain they are not real if they are standing in front of you. I like checking out the memorabilia, but I've grown out of buying collectibles since they dont exactly go with my decor at home. The kid inside of me will always have an appreciation for comics, cartoons and video games, so I love visiting the Wondercon every year. I noticed that this year's show was more crowded than last year, despite being on the holiday weekend. Way to boost the economy, Comic geeks and Fan Boys! :)

(Mine was me hugging batman with my cat-ear beanie on) - ART ART ART! COMICS! ANIME! CUSTOM DRAWINGS/PAINTINGS! - Cast of Chuck What I didn't like: - Sunday was slow... not very many people in costume... - Table selling hats with animal ears was so overpriced, as were ALL the tables selling anything. $15/hat after haggling... - Everything seemed soo expensive...(t-shirts were $20+, one sketch my friend bought was a mass-produced drawing that you could get anywhere...for $18!) - No beer... or they ran out by the time we got there. boo. - No Final Fantasy stuff anywhere... ! Minus the Helios table giving away a Cloud and Chocobo doll to the winner of the name drawing contest. (Was not happy to constantly see the winner of the chocobo doll ... grr) It was a fun experience overall but I don't think I'll be back. I def. want to check out ComicCon before I die, though!

Dark interior, typical dive bar atmosphere, large covered patio in the back where they serve food, with plenty of tables and seating. There were a few counter stools inside where the stage is set up for live music events. They only accept cash at the bar, but they have ATM's on site. We had a few drinks, a couple beers, standard cocktail, and the John Daly (fizzy) which was quite good with a nice sweetness to it. The place got packed later into the evening, but the crowd was just the right amount of crazy, and we had a good time. I also appreciated that there wasn't a long wait for the restrooms like at some other nightclubs and bars. I heard this place is closing down soon. Glad I got to experience it at least once, especially with the shark-themed musical performance setting the mood for the night.

The food is quite good, especially when you take into account it's a bar. The fried chicken sandwich is tasty, the tots and fries are fresh and hot. They also do live music here, which is fun. Sadly, Thee Parkside is soon to be no more: instead more condos as Potrero continues to gentrify. Too bad, I had a lot of good times here

Luckily this time around we found parking less than half a mile away that was free as some street parking is free after 6pm. But you gotta give yourself a lot of time to circle the blocks and read signs! Especially for the Pay for Parking areas may or may not be allowed. We did end up getting food that night and it was a fried chicken sandwich and a fried chicken salad of which were basically the same except one had more slaw as the salad base and no bun. I would highly recommend not getting the salad if you're not good with vinegared slaw and/or slices of jalapeno that I could not see in the dark. Don't forget utensils and sauces before you enter if you end up eating at your seat as it is kind of hard to get in and out of the seats. It does get pretty steep at the top. This time round our seats were the second to last row in the second tier so we were basically in the furthest seats. Remember to get your earplugs from customer service as it's always good to protect your hearing. Otherwise, I don't prefer going here as parking is just super hard and paying $75 for the parking garage is insane. But when you get tickets to see a show you want, you just try your best.
