After interviewing several local South Tahoe based Contractors to knock down my cabin and build my…read morenew custom home we selected Garrick as our General Contractor. I did my due diligence and spoke to several sub-contractors, city employees, and local handymen and all of them highly recommended Garrick. My project was started during the time when inflation was creeping up, supply chain issues were abundant, the Caldor fire happened in the the middle of the permitting process and the worst winter storm in 40 plus years was challenging our completion time. Garrick navigated all these issues like a Pro. His experience and expertise really showed up when we needed it the most and that is when we knew we had the right man for our complex job! Garrick gave us great suggestions and recommendations that paid off big time. When building a custom home all kinds of details come into play and Garrick walked us through the details we missed and gave us good solid options to resolve the various issues. It's been a year since we moved into our new house and it was so nice and refreshing to know that anytime we had questions or issues Garrick would respond quickly to make sure we were taken care of. Garrick knows TRPA, the local and state codes, who to contact in the city Government and in general how to get the paperwork processed quickly and get inspections completed timely. This year he finished a partial interior renovation and it all looks absolutely fantastic. The project involved the total remodel of two bathrooms, new slate flooring, solid wood interior door replacements, rewiring and hanging a vintage brass chandelier that once hung in the former High Sierra Casino, new granite countertops, new cabinets, wainscoting, new mirrors and many other enhancements. One of the most appreciated traits about Garrick is his desire to help the client achieve exactly what is wanted. In my case, I wanted to preserve the "Old Tahoe Aesthetic" and that involved attention to my specific requests that other contractors might not have been willing to tackle.
