So this review is about the service Chris provided. He was very responsive to messages and…read morereturning phone calls but did not do a great job in the small leak I had. One of the connector under my sink was leaking. He changed it but forgot to one small part inside the line (according to the other plumber who came at a later date to fix the problem). The problem was not obvious initially, but after 2-3 months the connector portion started leaking more and more. That was one reason for this review. Another reason is, I had problem with my shower temperature and suspect something is wrong with shower cartridges. However Chris told me he doesn't know how to take this shower handle off so he needs to cut off the handle to access inside and so I will have to replace the handle as well if I want the job done. Well, the plumber that fixed my sink issue had no problem taking off the handle. He did have to spend a bit more time figuring it out. There is some corrosion around the screw area but it was doable. So either Chris ability is not as good or he doesn't have the patience to figure it out. For that reason, the service he provided a few months back was not satisfactory

Well almost a year after we received service from DP I am finally doing the review. In July of 2025 our mainline from the city water meter leaked and we had water coming from it and leaking down the street. Because it was the pipe from our pipe not the city's pipe, we were responsible for fixing it. We had work done by DP before and felt they were competent and reasonably priced, so we contacted them again. The person on the phone set up an appointment for a plumber to come by to that very day. Talk about prompt service. A plumber named German came by, gave his assessment and said the office will email and estimate. I was okay with the price, and the next day German came back. He brought another plumber to work on the job with him. The other plumber was Omar. Both German and Omar are very pleasant people and very competent. They gave me an estimate of how long it would take to fix, which may have been five or six hours, if I remember but I think it took about four hours. They had to break the concrete on our property and dig the dirt out, repair the leak by replacing the pipe with a new one, and fill the dirt back in and repour the concrete. Well, they finished and everything was perfect. After nearly a year we so far have had no problems. I'm glad the whole process was fast from first contact to finish because the longer it takes the more water leaks and the more money is spent on the water bill. I recommend Downey Plumbing. They have excellent service, fair prices, excellent plumbers, excellent customer service and do great work.

I have just heard one of the dumbest reasons for not providing services than I have heard in many…read moremany years. I gave owned real estate, primary homes, rental properties, I represent clients with numerous properties and yet the reason for lack of service ranks right up there with complete stupidity. I called to have my personal AC serviced due to the fact that it needs it as indicated by it blowing warm air. I scheduled the appointment made it a point to be here and 10 minutes before the last possible time to show up I get a call and some urchin tells me they don't service homes that are on the market. Isn't one of the reasons for servicing is that you are putting it on the market and need to comply with inspections? When I aske why, the urchin replied that it was company policy, no other explanation. That is frankly one of the absolute dumbest answers I could have expected. So if they are that afraid to do a home that will be sold does that mean they do a shoddy job that will not pass inspection? Does mean they do not even trust their own work? Or are they just plain ignorant. Whatever the reason, I would not take a chance on hiring them for anything that may eventually need an inspection. I'm sure they would raise a defense against any claim that they did not know the property would be sold. Does this mean they never do work for contractors who are building homes? I don't care what the rest of the reviews say. You should never hire someone that afraid of someone checking their work

They basically told me the line was fine and that I was imagining the flood in my kitchen and laundry room. Because the job was under warranty, I finally called them back and said that I really needed them to fix the problem. Robert came out and quoted me an additional $22k to fix something in my slab. He used a sharpie to draw an X on my floor so he could remember the exact spot. Then he told me I needed to sign the contract right way. Obviously I didn't! He then lowered the price to $18.5k, but by then I had decided not to use prodigy, even though the work was under warranty. I called in called another company (actually 2) and not only did they inform me that Robert was dead wrong, but both plumbers ran cameras and showed me that the line had never been properly epoxied in the first place. Owner Mark refuses to return my call. I hope this review prompts him to reach out. My next step is the licensing board, then attorney. This would be so much easier if Mark would just call me!
