On a Friday evening, I noticed muddy water pooling near my toilet, which suggested a pipe issue. I contacted my usual plumber, but when he didn't arrive the next morning, I began looking for another company since we had to shut off the water to prevent further flooding. Carlos came out to assess the situation and explained that his team could start the next morning at 8 AM. He said they would begin with leak detection to locate the source, then proceed with the repair. The work involved cutting through my granite flooring and into the slab. Before moving forward, I asked if he was licensed and if he could work with my home warranty company and follow their procedures. He confirmed both. Because the work took place on a Sunday, I wasn't able to obtain pre-approval from the warranty company, which led to some complications. I paid by personal check and received a handwritten receipt under the name "SoCal Plumbing." When I submitted it, the warranty company indicated that the license associated with that name was expired and not tied to a plumbing business. I followed up with Carlos, and he provided a different license under the name "G Del Plumbing and Rooter," which was valid. Initially, he and his team were helpful in trying to provide the necessary documentation, although the process took time due to back-and-forth with the warranty company. The warranty company eventually agreed to partially reimburse the cost but required a final invoice showing both the diagnosis and proof of payment. The invoices I received continued to show a balance due, and as the 30-day submission deadline approached, I attempted to follow up multiple times by phone and text but did not receive a response. As a result, I may not be able to complete my claim and get partially reimbursed for this emergency. On the day of the repair, I also asked about installing a water pressure valve and was told there would be a follow-up, but I did not hear back. Overall, the repair work was completed, the toilet was reinstalled as promised, and the team was punctual. I was quoted a range for the price and of course the actual amount was the highest price in that range. However, communication and documentation could have been more consistent, especially given the warranty requirements. My advice is to not pay in full if there are outstanding items that they need to do. read more

On a Sunday afternoon, our outside bbq area sink faucet pipe suddenly burst and was gushing water everywhere! We had difficulty finding a plumber who would come out on a Sunday afternoon asap. Called SoCal Plumbing Services this past Sunday because we found Mold in our room! We knew we had to find the root of the problem and the owner Carlos walked me thru the steps to see if we had a leak in our home, while on the phone. We did not have a leak within our home, but he came out himself and did a quick inspection. He then said he had an emergent case to take care of, but that he would send one of his techs shortly. The techs Juan and Daniel showed up around 11:30am that same day and crawled under our raised foundation home and found the problem. They took videos and pictures while down there and showed me right away. We had a very slow leak in our sewerage pipes which were underground, which is why it was damped under. We also had some pipes that were "fixed" by the previous owner that needed work. His tech Juan wasn't only very professional and honest, but super knowledgeable! He managed to impress my father in law, which is very hard to do lol. By 4:30pm not only did Daniel and Juan replace a lot of the sewerage pipes from under our home, but they also installed a two way clean out for us that goes to our street. Carlos and his team installed a new gas service line from the meter to my home, and worked on at least 30-40 feet of 3/4 inch iron/steel pipes with a rubber or plastic coating, they trenched around a big tree, cut roots, cut some concrete to get the job done. So now that we isolated the main issue and proved the new service line is good (pressure test/new valve!), next we will pressure test the new line + the house, there's a new issue now (somewhere in the house). Looking forward to getting more help from this fast and knowledgeable team! Juan and Jose kept me in the loop as they trenched, laid new pipe and Juan was under the house for a bit cutting and studying the layout. Ugh our toilets were acting funky, gurgling, and wouldn't flush fully a few days ago. Then just as the weekend is starting, our tubs and showers backed up and spewing disgusting stuff out and the smell was noxious! We tried our good ole plunger, Drano, and finally attempted to snake the pipes ourselves but nothing was working. We made the call to Carlos at 930pm and were so happy he picked up! I guess he really is 24/7!! He could have came out that evening but as a late night evening call, we'd have to pay a bit more. So we chose to have him come in the morning at his regular fee. The cost different would have been a night at a hotel. Carlos said a team member will be here by 7am, but Juan was able to arrive earlier. So definitely prompt! After snaking, he discovered a massive backup and recommended hydrojetting. The cost was a lot. But NO high pressure sale. They gave us time to think, and said they could come back later because in consideration of the neighbors, the Hydrojetting was going to be really loud and suggested that they could start after 8 AM anyway. So this gave us time to call several other places, one was slightly lower, but most were in par and even higher in quote, with no guarantee and arrival at a later time. We called Carlos back and gave him the green light. Juan and Carlos were honest, friendly, no pressure, thorough, courteous and great communication. Don't let the gruffness put you off, they're just in high demand because they're obviously good at what they do. I called several plumbers, but most wanted to charge for a pressure test--even though the city would be conducting their own test after the repair. He told me the pressure test was optional based on the information I had from the gas company and the clearly visible location of the leak I made the decision to do the repair without the test. Being a single, female, homeowner of a 100 year old home with a major plumbing issue is a total test of your belief in the goodness of humankind and I don't wish this on anyone! No matter how much research you do and how capable you try to be, there are still jerks out there looking to take advantage (message me and I'll tell you who!) SO CAL PLUMBING is NOT one of those jerks and I am so relieved I found Carlos, Juan, and Danny! I arranged to have three separate companies come out to inspect and quote. So Cal Plumbing was the third and final. When I first called, I honestly almost hung up on Carlos.. I think he was at a job site and was a little abrupt on the phone (and I was already over the whole process and short on patience) but I'm really glad I gave them a chance (so please note this and give them a chance too!) They came out early the next morning and after gently berating the other quotes and walking me through the work that ACTUALLY needed to be completed, they were able to start the work immediately and complete it that day vs. scheduling it out over a few days. The two other quotes suggested MAJOR repairs all the way to the city line. These guys did a thorough inspection, scoffed at the other suggestions, showed me videos and photos of why those repairs were unnecessary, and then provided a very fair quote and quick and professional work. These guys were hardworking, professional, friendly, courteous, and clearly knew their stuff. The work was still extensive and difficult, but they completed the promised work and clean-up within the time and price quoted and even helped me out with a couple of side questions I had.
